Becky, - I think this is a very legitimate new rule at all the Rainbows. Even our pretty new St. Louis Park Rainbow which has been VERY liberal in their coupon policies. I had that happen with a legitimate coupon, and the cashier was so nice and even double checked at customer service. I now know that I need to check to make sure there are watermarks on each one I print. I can understand that since there is evidently a lot of coupon fraud. But, like you said, it is embarrassing when you're the one holding the coupon and you imagine the person behind you thinks you just copied it on a photocopier or something!

I went to the Bloomington Rainbow tonight and had my legitimately printed from the manufactuer's website coupon rejected. It was a $1 off a Seventh Generation product. I know I have used them before. It had the current exp date and scannable barcode and the website it was printed from on it. I know they can refuse any coupon and I didn't argue it but I was pretty embarrassed since there was a big line behind me. The reason for the rejection was because the coupon didn't have a water mark and there is a lot of coupon fraud. I would have gone to customer service but it was closed since the store was closing soon. Has anyone had anything like this happen?

There is one cashier at the Bloomington Rainbow that manually takes away all the doubled coupons that say "do not double". I just avoid him and all the other ones are great! Sorry, I do not know his name.....

I agree-- have done P&G deal before and got all items free and still received $5 OYNO as long as I was very careful to select exactly correct sizes and type of item-- that can be tricky!!

Regarding using a gift card to get to the $25 threshold....has anyone had problems doing this? Are there some stores where this isn't allowed? I've been too chicken to try it until I heard from someone who uses my stores (Lakeville and Savage).

Do you grab the card and hang on to it and then just ask the cashier to add X dollars ($6, $2 or whatever you need?) or do you ask the cashier to grab one from their register area? Does it make a difference (as in, does it look shady if you do it on the fly or is it better to make it look planned?)

Not sure why this freaks me out so much. Seems like a tricky move that some cashiers might not like.

Hi all! I hear a lot of complaints about "unfriendly" RB's so I thought I'd give a shout-out to the RB off 494 and Penn in Bloomington. I go there as my secondary store as it's farther from home, but have always had good experiences. The Richfield RB off 66th and Nicollett is my primary and they're pretty good there, too. The best part is they double DND Q's. The cashiers don't pay any attention to the verbiage on the Q. If it's a DND but its barcode starts with 5 they let it through, and if it's a 9 the register will automatically filter it and it won't double. I check all my DND Qs' barcodes ahead of time for this for planning purposes. If you live of work close by I recommend using this store to save an extra few bucks!

Also, the Target at 77 (Cedar) and 66th is pretty bad for Q's at the register (most cashiers are clueless and sloppy about scanning them) but customer service has always been pleasant and helpful in correcting errors.

At any store, I try to hand over my Q's 1 by 1 and watch that they ring up correctly. If you're ever at Rainbow and see on the computer monitor that your first Q didn't double (should see "multiplied coupon" under your original Q), ask the cashier to add a Rainbow giftcard to your order and the rest of them should double!

The VIA at $2.49 for a 3 pack and 6.99 for the 8 pack, is a good deal by itself (you buy it at starbucks for $2.95 and $9.95 (12 pack), and you can't use coupons there). With the doubled $1 coupon, the 3 pack becomes .49, which is the equivalent of a .16 cup of coffee. I love these, as they are so portable!! With the summer comes camping and traveling, so these are a great item to have handy!
