There is so much going on in the Twin Cities this weekend that I need to start sharing a few events with you now so you can think about what you want to do in your area. Get some free food tonight at two different locations, too! Here are the details:
Creekview Park Ice Cream Social. Enjoy free ice cream tonight (July 14) from 6-8:30pm at Creekview Park in Minneapolis (5001 Humboldt Ave N). For more information, call 612.370.4965.
Punch Pizza. Bring in this printable coupon or show it on your phone this Wednesday, July 14 after 5pm to get a free Mimi. (Has anyone ever had one of these before?)
Half Price Books in St. Paul is having a tent sale this weekend (July 15-18) where everything is priced at $3 or less. (Thanks, Hilary!)
Maple Grove Days runs from July 15-18 and is chock-full of fun events, including parades, tons of activities for kids (including a diaper derby – I am totally going to enter my son, Uriah), fireworks, contests, and much more. For more information and a full schedule of events, go to the Maple Grove Days website.
Midwest Mountaineering. Enter to win a trip for two to New Zealand now through July 15 just by trying on an Icebreaker garment. If you buy an Icebreaker garment, you’ll get two entries in the drawing!
Mound Spirit of the Lakes Festival. I used to live in Mound, but I guess I never paid any attention to the city festival. I wish I would have, though, because the Spirit of the Lakes Festival will take place at Mound Bay Park from July 15-17. Some of the highlights include Music in the Park, two parades, fire dancers, and more.
Your turn: What do you think of Punch Pizza? Yay or nay?

The mimi is AWESOME! My favorite punch pizza. I tell everyone to get it!
I like the pizza at Punch Pizza but it seems expensive for the amount of food you get (especially compared to the deals on frozen pizzas & specials at Papa Murphys).
I love Punch pizza. We only go when they offer their coupons, which is quite often! I really like there salads, totally yummy! We usually get the free pizza item to share and a large salad and drinks. Then add in walking down by the river and it makes a great date night.
I love Punch Pizza. It doesn’t even compare to frozen or take out. Totally different breed of pizza. Seriously it is one of my favorite places to go if I could go anywhere. I believe the Mimi is their fresh pizza – picture bruchetta with fresh mozzarella on their delicious pizza crust. They crust is baked but the toppings are fresh, with a garlic, olive oil and salt dressing. Delicious!
I wish we didn’t have dinner plans!
The Mimi has a great flavor but it is unique. The topping are put on after the crust is cooked so the cheese is not melted.
Just so you know – if you’re going to the Half-Price Bookstore tent sale in St. Paul – it is also the weekend for “Highland Festival”, so lots of other things going on – small carnival, artists booths, etc. Don’t expect to park in front of the store (street will be blocked off, and tent sale takes place in their parking lot).
I live in Mound and the Spirit of the Lakes Festival is so much fun. The parade is great. Sat at 10am. :)
