CVS Shopping List 7/11 – 7/17/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Free-after-Extra Care Buck school supply deals start this week. If last year serves as an example, each store has a limited supply and if they run out they may not issue a rain check. That to say, before you make a special trip out just for those, you may want to call your store and confirm they have them in stock. As always, this list is not comprehensive of all the sales, but only includes items that we think are truly good deals.

If you’re new to CVS, your first step is to learn the ins and outs of the ExtraCare program and learn how to read this shopping list. If you are just getting started and have questions, please leave them in the comments so we can all help you learn how to spend less.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas, or we read about other deals across the blogosphere, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Comments

  1. Tina says:

What is the advantage to using the $5 off coupon on the Neutrogena Clinical products with the rebate for a free product? Is it just to save on the upfront cost?

  2. JoAnna says:

The proglide razor deal says spend 45.97–guessing you meant $5.97.

  3. Shannon B. says:

Just wanted to let you know that I found Venus Embrace Razors at my CVS in Wisconsin on clearance for $2.99 normally $11.99. Use the $2/1 from P&G 6/6 or 7/4 and get it for $.99. Mine had alot too and plan to go back tomorrow. Also had a question with the John Freida. I did this deal today and got the $5 ECB but at the bottom of receipt it does not tell me limit reached like others. Now in the ad it says (LIMIT 1). So does this mean we can get the ECB twice?

    • Deoxy says:

I noticed that as well and did the deal a second time today. It still says I have not reached my limit. I’ll try it again tomorrow or friday. On A Full Cup, people were reporting that the limit is 3.

  4. Jonna says:

Bummed. There was a note on the coupon spitter outer saying that they no longer take expired coupons at all (manufacturer or CVS) at my CVS (is this company wide or an individual decision by the manager?); however, my trip was made better when I literally got a pat on the back from the manager for my super coupon shopping and saving. The trip today was just under $10 OOP, $40 savings (80%); and walked away with $23 dollars worth of ECB for my next trip! And, Carrie, can I tell you that the manager on duty was also a couponer and we plugged you to the cashier on duty. Gotta make sure I give credit where credit is due.

  5. Amy says:

The $2/1 John Frieda coupon does not include the root awakening product. Only includes the following:Sheer Blonde, Frizz-Ease, Luxurious Volume, Brilliant Brunete, Radiat Red, or Luminous Color Glaze.

  6. Karen says:

Hadn’t been to CVS for a long time, but thanks to your site Carrie I knew to try to use my expired cvs coupons. Plymouth took them all, I saved about $50 tonight and spent 1.02. Got a couple of items for Operation Christmas Child.

  7. Mesha says:

    Hey Carrie,
Just a thought/opinion. I don’t like to buy something expensive, but when thinking about how much work you do on a computer and plan to keep it up in the future that right handed wrist brace is a lot cheeper than surgery is!

  8. Mona says:

Does anyone think that the Suave sale at CVS is a good deal using $.50 coupons and $3 EB? Suave is not my usual brand.

  9. Andrea says:

Can anyone confirm that Hershey’s Bliss are included in the B2G1 sale? Thanks.

  10. Claire says:

No more prints on the Frappuccino.

  11. martin says:

    Hi ya, Carrie! :)

Can we roll ECB from one product’s purchase into a second purchase of the same product to get the same ECB once again?

For example, if we used two $2.50 off coupons to purchase John Freida shampoo, presently on sale 2 for $10, get $5.00 ECB, could we use this ECB with two (other) $2.50 off coupons to purchase John Freida shampoo or conditioner or other products, presently on sale 2 for $10, get $5.00 ECB once again?

We, essentially, do the same at Walgreen’s – and because they do not use a CARD, like CVS – they cannot track the redundant purchases.

    Martin

  12. martin says:

    Hi again, Carrie.

    • Lisa ** says:

If you look at the limits for the deals you will see limit 1 for the John Freida transaction so you would only be able to get the ECB once for this deal. Your receipt would tell you after doing so once “offer limit reached”. If it said Limit 2 you should have been able to do it twice.

That’s funny that you say you can at Walgreens. Usually at Wags you can’t pay for a Register Reward deal with the same Register Reward from the same deal.

  13. cynthia says:

    Couple things:

    1. There were $3 off $15 purchase coupons in the pharmacy drop off area at my CVS the last couple days. Expire 07/31/10

    2. I had NO clue that CVS did rain checks. When I went in on Sun to get some more Sobe for .77 and use my B1G1 coupons they were still out from the sale he week before but the cashier offered me a raincheck! Had I known that I would have rainchecked on Saturday when I tried to score more from that sale. I had no clue CVS did rainchecks. Just wanted to share in case anyone else was clueless like me!

    • jen says:

I was told you could get a raincheck on anything.

    • Laura Wales says:

Cynthia – I was so excited when I first discovered CVS rainchecks, too. It means that I no longer had to rush to get the deals at the beginning of the week because it was so easy to get them when they’re restocked. Isn’t it great?! :)

  14. cynthia says:

jen-that has been my understanding too but she offered and pulled out the raincheck pad and wrote one out. She asked how many Sobes I wanted and I told her the max…10. Now to see how well it goes over when I use it. I will use i at the store I got it from even though it says good at any CVS

  15. Alisha says:

I have gotten rainchecks on ads where they have had about ten items free after ECB, but they were out of every single free item. I was told that when they have the “free” items, they should have ordered enough to keep them in stock (but they never do), so they offer rainchecks for the “free” items.

I’ve never had a problem redeeming the rainchecks for free items. They are able to key in a code, so the register spits out a ECB for the correct amount.

    • Claire says:

I do rainchecks often at CVS for their “free after ECBs” deals! It’s too bad that you can’t do that at Wags b/c they are usually out of stock on those deals by Sunday evening.

  16. misty says:

i love shopping at cvs n with ur shopping list n coupons i hav saved a ton of money!!! i get soo much for free or almost free that i just pass the stuff on if i dont use it!! thanks for helping us all save money!!!!
