Cub Foods Shopping List 7/25 – 7/31/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Cub Foods’ weekly deals include the items advertised in their sales flyer, but also include another 4 pages of deals that are exclusively advertised on their website. If you match the advertised promotion on the back page of the sale flyer with an unadvertised promotion on Kraft dairy products and a lot of coupons, then you could get a steal on cheese.

Since Cub Foods’ stores accept manufacturer-issued coupons up to 3 months past their expiration date (and in some cases up to 5 or 6 months past) some of those referenced on this list are expired. If you are new to Pocket Your Dollars, then learn to read this shopping list. If you are having issues, troubleshoot problems printing coupons here.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas, or we read about other deals across the blogosphere, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Your turn: What deal ideas do you have for the overlapping Kraft promotions? Do you see any other great deals that we missed?

**UPDATE** Buy 10 select Kraft items, Get $5 off your current grocery order

Personally, I don’t see any items within a buy range with this promotion alone. However, the Buy 5 or more select Kraft dairy products, get $5 off your next grocery order deal is also running right now (it’s an unadvertised deal, but has been going at Cub and now folks are seeing advertisements for it at Cub too). If your ten items includes at least 5 of the advertised cheese products – singles, chunk, shredded or string cheese, then you’ll get $5 off your current grocery order plus a coupon for $5 off a future grocery order.

You may have some stray Kraft coupons, including free lunch meat, $1 off Ritz crackers from Facebook or many $1 off 2 item coupons from the Make It Easy, Take it Easy home mailer that was available for request in March. It’s been reported that some Kraft items have $1/1 peelie coupons on them which would make this deal even better. Note that 100 Calorie snack packs are excluded from this promotion so none of those coupons can be used.

The only deal idea I’ve put together is one that uses coupons that are currently available to all of us. This deal scenario assumes that the Deli Deluxe singles are included in the promotion, but I have not had that confirmed or denied yet. (When you shop and notice, please let us know). The deal does assume you print 10 coupons, which requires 5 computers and is more than many folks have access to. So, you can substitute up to 5 of the items for any of the other non-dairy items advertised on the back page and still participate in the two overlapping promotions.

Pocket Your Dollars’ reader SarahBeth left a comment with a few expired coupons that you may be able to use with this promotion:
- Deli Deluxe Cheese from 3/21 Smart Source insert
- Oscar Mayer Deli Meats from 3/7 and 5/16 Smart Source insert
- Maxwell House Coffee from 3/21 and 5/16 Smart Source insert
- Pudding/Jello from 4/11, 6/6 and 6/20 Smart Source insert
- Nabisco Crackers from 5/16 Smart Source insert

***Deal idea***
(This deal assumes that Deli Deluxe Kraft singles are included in the Kraft singles that are on sale for $2.49 and part of the Buy 10 items, get $5 off your next order promotion)
Buy 10 Deli Deluxe Cheeses for $2.49 each
Use ten $1/1 Deli Deluxe Cheese printable coupons (you’ll need more than one computer to print 10 copies)
Plus, get $5 off instantly for buying 10 qualifying items (assuming these qualify)
Spend $9.99, get $5 off your next order for buying 5 or more qualifying Kraft dairy products
Final price: $0.49 each after coupons, instant savings and money off your next order

Comments

  1. Traci says:

How do I get to print the Tombstone pizza coupon?

  2. Mindy says:

I got a mailer at my home last week with 4 Cub Q’s: $1.48/pound Cub bacon, $.98/half-gallon of Cub OJ, $.48/Cub English muffins and first pound of bananas free :) All require separate $25 purchase (I’m assuming a single $25 purchase would allow you to get all 4 products). $3 for all of the above doesn’t sound like a bad deal.

  3. Beth says:

Anyone else have trouble getting the Minute Maid OJ coupon? I didn’t see it at either option posted.

  4. Anne says:

I can’t get to the minute maid coupon through either link. Am I missing something?

  5. Beth says:

Where is the Minute Maid coupon?

  6. Erica says:

I couldn’t find the Minute Maid coupon at either of those sites… anyone else having that problem?

  7. Karie says:

    RE:
    Farm Stand Romaine Hearts $1.98
**I don’t buy this much so I don’t know for sure if this is a good price, but I think not. Your thoughts?

These usually come in a bag with 3 hearts….as long as they look good and are nice and have thick stalks, then I definitely buy them. They keep longer and my family prefers them than to the bag lettuce.

    • kimm says:

Karie, I agree. I like to buy the package romaine heads because they typically keep pretty long. I think this is a good price as the Aldi I shop at charges $2.49 for a 3 pack. Sam’s typically sells a 6 head pack around 3.80…sometimes over $4, so 1.98 for not having to make a special trip to Sam’s club is good.

    • Teri says:

I just bought the 3 pack bag of Romaine Hearts at Target in their new grocery section (Coon Rapids). Their everyday price is $1.99. So not much of a deal and Cub.

  8. Jeanie says:

Does anyone know if Woodbury CUB takes expired Walgreens Register Rewards coupons?

  9. paigebaum says:

Cub has 1lb bags of kiwi priced at 2/$1, which equals about 14 kiwi for $1!

    • terri says:

i bought 2 bags last week and they were soooooo hard they could choke a horse! they might be ripe by winter if you can wait that long :)

      • Melissa E says:

i bought these as well – though hard, they still tasted great!! and they’ve now ripened…i loved that i could buy so many and didn’t have to eat them all at once. :)

  10. JillJ says:

Cub has Cheetos on sale for $1.69 a bag. I was able to use $1.00 off coupons (per bag) even though they said Cheetos Mighty ‘something’ – they were still Cheetos and they worked. 4 big bags of Cheetos @ 69 cents each = happy kids.

  11. JillJ says:

When you buy 4 boxes of GM cereal, you get a coupon at the checkout good for 2 free redbox rentals.

  12. Flannel Guy says:

    $1 on Fisher Nuts @ SmartSource.com

  13. Karen says:

Am I missing how to get the coupon for Kahiki Egg Rolls? Is there a zipcode you have to use?

  14. Mandy says:

The cheapest I have ever found for Hebrew Nation hotdogs is 2/$5 and that was rare. $2.99 is the best price you will find considering they are usually $5.99.

  15. Alissa says:

Is $1 for 8 ounces really the going rate for sour cream? I’ve always been able to get it for 50 cents per 8 ounces.

  16. SarahBeth says:

For those of you who like to use up your expired coupons at CUB, here are some coupons I found that match the list above:

    Michelina’s Frozen Entree: $1/5 5/9SS
    Kahiki product : $1/2 3/7RP
    McCormick Grillmate Marinade: $0.50/1 4/18RP
Tostidos chips and dip combo: $0.55/2 4/25SS
Lance Crackers (if 100cal pack is included): $0.55/1 1/17SS
    Hefty One Zip: $0.55/2 5/23RP
Sara Lee Bread (if delightful is included): 4/25RP
    Welch’s Jam: 6/6SS
    Archway Cookies: 4/25SS
    Nature’s Bounty: 3/14RP
    Tidy Cats: 2/7RP

    Hope that helps someone!

  17. SarahBeth says:

There are some expired coupons that you may be able to use with the GM sale:
    Fiber One bars: 3/7SS, 4/18SS
    Kid’s Cereal: 5/30GM
    Fruit Snacks: 3/7SS, 3/28SS#1, 4/18SS, 5/2SS

  18. SarahBeth says:

If anyone decides to do the Kraft deal, here are some expired coupons that you could use to match up with the items “Buy 10 save $5″ deal:

    Deli Deluxe Cheese: 3/21SS
Oscar Mayer Deli Meats: 3/7SS and 5/16SS
Maxwell House Coffee: 3/21SS and 5/16SS
    Pudding/Jello: 4/11SS, 6/6SS and 6/20SS
    Nabisco crackers: 5/16SS

Not sure if the pudding will count as a Dairy Product??? But if you choose 5 dairy items you may also get the $5 OYNO coupon.

  19. Rebecca says:

The chips that are on sale for $1.69 include Rold Gold Pretzels. I know that I have expired coupons for those, but I do not know if they expired MORE than 3 months ago. I will look into this and let you know.

  20. Rebecca says:

    Okay, so what I found is (5/2 SS) .55/1, (6/20 SS) 1.00/2, and (7/18 SS) 1.00/2
These will not make the bags meet the $1.00/bag criteria, but I am completely out of snacks, so I will probably still buy a few bags.

  21. Sarah Burrill says:

I was unable to find the 4 pages of unadvertised savings on the Cub on-line site– but I wasn’t sure where to look. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks for any help.

  22. Laurie Buck says:

The Kraft Cheese had coupons for $1 off per package stickies at my Cub…bought 10 for $19.90 (with the auto $5 off), $10 more off made them 99c each…AND I got a $5 off your next purchase Cat. Now THAT was worth it!

  23. Lisa O says:

Has anyone signed up for the Cub email newsletter? I just saw it on their website, they say they’ll send you coupons through email…wondering if it’s a waste of email space or not? It could be cool, especially if they include coupons for Wild Harvest products!

Also, they accept only expired manufacturer coupons? Do they accept their own coupons if they’re expired?

So my 3rd question…can I use the expired q from a couple weeks ago in their ad for $10 off a $25 purchase of Gold’n Plump? If yes, you could ideally get 5 whole chickens for $15, which ends up being $3/chicken?? That’s not bad…if I can find the freezer space!

    • Laura Wales says:

Lisa – I’ve signed up for the email newsletter and it’s pretty much just one coupon a week. This week it was $0.50/1 Glaceau Vitaminwater 20oz, valid 7/29-8/4/10. Not a bad coupon to have on hand, especially if people still have the $1/2 manufacturer’s coupons from a while back (unless this one is past three months expired).

    • Megan says:

Lisa O – I tried to use the 10 off 25 gold-n-plump last week and was DENIED… the manager stated since it has a date span on it… rather than just an expiration date… they couldn’t take it even though it’s a manufacture q and not a Cub q

  24. JillJ says:

Lisa O ~ I believe any Cub stores I have been to only take expired manufact. coupons and NOT expired store coupons. I have tried it with store pop coupons before (by mistake) and they would not take them.

  25. ty says:

Just an FYI- I found the Cinnabon “Try Me Free” Cereal box at the Rogers Cub. I’ve looked a few different places and this is the first time I saw it, so I thought I’d share…

  26. Amy says:

I just got back from a very frustrating trip to my Cub in Rosemount. I had a coupon for a Free Digirno Deep Dish Pizza that was from a Facebook deal and was sent to me in the mail, as well as a coupon for Free Ortega Taco Shells which was also sent to me from the company after I complained about stale shells. The didn’t want to accept either one of them. They called the manager over and she said they are not accepting computer printed coupons for free items anymore as they have had a problem with counterfiet coupons. I admit that the Pizza coupon looked just like the coupons that we print out all the time, but it had watermarks on the back and the other one was completely different and obviously not computer printed. It was very frustrating. Has anyone else had these problems.

  27. Lori says:

at the Cub in Ply I’ve had the cashier look through her big binder of printed “fraud” coupons and check each and every one of mine- she said they’re offered rewards if they “catch” one-takes forever and sure seems like overkill!

  28. JillJ says:

The Cub in Rogers will not take the Coke Rewards coupons (sent to you by the Coke co. thru the mail) – they are the ones for free 20 oz. bottles of a Coke product or Powerade. They tell me I made them up myself which I certainly did not. I’ve even left them sealed with my name and address on it and opened it in front of the cashier and she still won’t take it.

  29. Nicole says:

Never had the problem before today but my Cub would not accept a MFR. COUPON printed from the Target website. They will accept the Mfr. catalinas printed from Target stores but not the website. It was not an expired coupon either. Said corporate is starting to crack down on which coupons they accept.
