This Wednesday Rainbow Foods will be doubling 10 coupons instead of their usual 5. Are Copps and Pick N Save doing the same? Saturday just five coupons will be doubled.
Read the rules of coupon doubling before you go so you understand how to ensure you get your coupons doubled. Most stores have stopped doubling coupons that say “do not double” and corporate policy says that you cannot use a coupon for the free item in a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal. Although I wish I could, I cannot tell which coupons say “do not double.” Generally though, most printable coupons from General Mills brands (including Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Yoplait, etc.) say that.
If you shop at Copps and your ad doesn’t match the items mentioned in this shopping list, then check out what we saw for sales last week.
Two things to remember about this list of deals. First, it does not include every sale-priced item that has a coupon. It only has those items whose final price is low enough for us to mention it. Second, it is a starting list. As we learn of more deals whose final price is low enough we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

**UPDATE** Buy 6 boxes of Kellogg’s Cereal at regular price and get $10 off instantly at checkout and a coupon on your receipt for a free gallon milk on a future shopping visit (up to $3 value)
A few notes about this deal that hopefully help and don’t confuse you more:
— Here’s the easiest way to think about this deal, since I don’t know the full price of these items and can’t put together any deal scenarios. Work backwards. First, establish what the most is you want to pay per box (for me that’s $1 per box or $6 total for the six boxes). Then, add in the $10 that will be discounted when you buy 6 boxes (in my example, that brings my total to $16 – the $1 per box plus $10). Then, add in the value, or doubled value if applicable, of any coupons you plan to use; for instance, if I was going to use three $1 off 2 boxes of cereal coupons that are eligible for doubling, then I’d add in another $6 ($3 worth of coupons doubled is $6, which brings my total to $22). Now, I know that the total value of my 6 boxes of cereal has to be $22 or less in order for it be a good enough deal for me to buy it. I hope that makes sense and helps.
— The full priced value of your cereal is what counts toward the $25 threshold for doubling. If your cashier says something different, I’d politely ask them to scan the coupons anyway and you’ll be amazed that they double. This works because the $10 off is actually paid for by Kellogg’s so it is technically a manufacturer’s promotion, although we can use other manufacturer’s coupons alongside this deal so it functions more like a store promotion, and the rules for the $25 threshold for doubling must be met after store coupons, but before manufacturer’s coupons.
—With past Kellogg’s offers the milk coupon only takes off the exact value of the milk you buy, not the full $3. I imagine soymilk (which is free after doubled coupon) counts as milk too, although I’ve never personally bought it with one of these coupons.
Available Kellogg’s coupons include (leave a comment if you become aware of others):

I did the fruit deal yesterday at the BP store and it didn’t work, but the cashier forgot to ask me for my Roundy’s card and for some reason I forgot to enter it. But Cust. service got me the coupon, so make sure you get the q before you leave.
Does anyone know if the $25 threshold @ Copps is before the sale prices or after? I always thought it was after the sale prices, but the last couple times I’ve been there. they scanned my card at the end and my total went down to around $19 and my coupons still doubled. However, I’m not sure if this was a fluke so I was wondering if anyone here knows.
i must be blind in my old age, i am having trouble finding coupons that are listed on these weekly lists. i know, not all coupons go to all inserts in all cities in all countries…. if that’s true, somehow hopkins is not the target market for the kraft 100 cheese that’s on sale this week. neither of my 5-16 SS has the coupon.
No problem…just print a couple using Carrie’s links !!
Say Everyone … had a great Morning at RB Should’ve paid $70 and 80 but left paying only $11 and 20 … yea…. noticed coupons by Kraft dressing buy 2 and get $1 off produce …. remember that if you use the .55/1 Q then you cannot use the $1 off as both are manuf.
Happy Hunting!
Great morning at Rainbow! 2 transactions, spent $61.24 for $189.50 worth of groceries. The P&G deal printed out 3 $5 off your next purchase instead of 1 $8 off so I got $15 off my second trans instead of $8!! She didnt know why it was doing that but she gave it to me anyways!! Did this happen to anyone else?
Which P&G Products did you buy Rachel?
This happened to me too – I purchased two packages of pampers, two packages of wipes, Olay body wash, and Ivory soap. I got $5 off my next order, $2 off produce (from the strawberries and grapes I bought too), and three (yes, 3 coupons) for $5 off Seafood. I won’t post my whole shopping list but I spent $20 even and saved $46.12. By getting $22 off my future orders I made $2 – WOW!
This happened to me as well – I got 2 – $5 coupons instead of 1 – $8. I had about $34 worth of products which was knocked down to about $18 with coupons and then the $10 off for my next trip. I was thrilled!
Additional perk on the Pringles Deal: $1 catalina for your next purchase printed.
Was at Rainbow this morning and French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce was $1.81. Match that with 4/11 SS $1/1 after doubled better than FREE :)
I went to Rainbow in Golden Valley ( I think off of 55 near General Mills Headquarters ) they were totally stocked on everything! I got 6 lean cuisines ($8 worth of doubled coupons) and had plenty to choose from (in fact they were over stocked) and plenty of Kellogg cereals to choose from. Specially marked boxes included mini wheats, frosted flakes, and fruit loops, apple jacks (only big box @ 4.99 yikes! I passed on those) that was all I saw, but luckily my family loved mini wheats. Spent 8.98 (used $8 off catalina from p&G deal i did on Mon) got – 6 boxes of cereal (used $6 in coupons doubled +10 off automatic) 3 bunches of strawberries (got $2 off catalina) 2 orchard juices ($2 off total in coupons doubled) and turkey bacon ( $2 total in coupon/doubled) .. I think that was it for the first trans.
2nd Transaction – Milk – free with kellogg catalina
2 avocados .99 each, eggs $1.29, canned tomato sauce @ .25 each x 6
spent $3 and change.. Total OOP $11! Saved in the neighborhood of 85% today.. not including the $12 off ticket I will be getting…. I guess that makes my shopping day completely free!
Has anyone noticed the price of most of the Kellog’s cereal that are included in the deal ?(I saw Cecia’s comment that the large Apple Jacks are $4.99 a box-gulp, no thank you. I’ll try the others instead.:) Thanks!
Here’s what I just bought this morning: 14 oz Frosted Flakes $3.49, 12 oz Rice Krispies $3.19, 15.3 oz Smacks $3.65, 12.2 oz Apple Jacks $3.65, 16.5 oz Cocoa Krispies $3.65. Hope that helps some.
Frosted Mini wheats were $3.49, frosted flakes $3.79 and fruit loops $4.19 (or $4.29 these were pricier) all were the medium sized boxes. And I agree the apple jacks were super expensive, the only specially marked at my rainbow were the huge box fyi. All of the boxes I purchased were specially marked for the movie ticket deal, so you can definitely get other varieties for cheaper however I chose ones that were specially marked.
hope that helps..
Thanks, Cecia. It does help. I appreciate it! I’m planning my run for tonight after work.:)
Somehow the Kelloggs deal doesn’t seem to work as well as the similar General Mills deal for me. I’m so careful about getting the right cereals (or at least I try to be). I knew my bill was higher than it should have been but didn’t want to hold up the line. When I got home I realized the problem is that the $10 didn’t come off. However, the free milk thing printed. I will be stopping by Customer Service next time I’m there, but I’m sure the problem is the 1 box of Rice Krispies I purchased; it rang up as a sale price of $1.99 for the 12 oz box, and I’m sure that disqualified the whole thing. I’m almost certain they had it marked as one of the “qualifiers”, so I’ll check when I’m there next. Be careful, though, as you choose your cereals! The $1 off 1 box of All Bran coupons were nice. I had gotten 3 of them from something recently – maybe inside a Nutrigrain box?
You are correct. I asked the mg if the $1.99 Rice Krispies and the $1.49 Honey Corn Flakes would work – they do not count as they will ring up as sale price and not reg price.
When doing the Kellogg’s deal, I also looked at the price per ounce. It was significant when deciding which size/price to go with.
2 shops for farr today. will try 2 more tonight.
1st shop was $37 – save $41 (P&G, produce, other net freebies)
2nd shop was $6 – save $50 (Kellogg’s, net freebies and a couple BOGO)
So far total, $43 OOP with $91 savings.
Rachel,
Check the wording on your cats from the p&g deal. I read on another blog that a gal got 3 $5 off seafood for buying Rival deep fryer q’s instead of the correct ones. Are you sure it’s oyno or is it for seafood if you buy the fryer? I
Just got back from Rainbow and bought $135 worth of groceries for only $50! And the P&G deal works if you use coupons and balance is below $30 after.
Anyone know what my chances are that there will still be things on the shelves at the Riverdale Rainbow tonight? I am going to be out that way tonight and was trying to figure out if I should try and get to a different Rainbow earlier in the day.
I was just at the Riverdale RB and did the PG deal and was surprised to find plenty of all my first choice items (except for Pampers wipes which were almost gone). I guess it depends on what you’re looking for but everything I needed was well stocked.
The hot items that are free or close to free will most likely be out. If I plan on stopping there on the way home and its after five then anything that is left is a bonus. I go to the one by my work at lunch because of it. Saturday’s they are fully restocked though.
I really like the way they’re doing the Kellogg’s deals. The last time I went in there with a ton of coupons for doubling, they had a limit on them and the Northtown RB were buttheads about it.
No limits this time, and I went in there this morning and bought 24 boxes, 4 transactions, all on my one and only RB card.
One thing to keep in mind: The Toy Story 3 promotion has a LIMIT of 30 codes entered, so a total of 5 tickets or 10 of the $5 concession cash coupons…or a combination…the tickets are 6 points, the concession cash is 3 per.
The cheapest cereal with the codes is the smallest box of rice krispies at $3.19. I think the smaller box of Frosted Flakes may have been $3.19, too.
I ended up with a variety of Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, and a ton of Frosted mini-wheats ($3.65 per), including chocolate and strawberry, just because most of the coupons I had were the $1 off 2 Frosted Mini Wheat ones.
I’m paying kids to help us move with Movie Tickets, Cereal and Milk…lol…and probably body wash from Walgreens…lol…
Columbia Heights Rainbow was well stock with Lean Cuisines. They were out of Kraft 100 calorie packs and I don’t think they carry the Oscar Mayer turkey bacon. Otherwise I got everything on my list. I really like the cashiers and stockers at this Rainbow. Helpful and kind. A+!
Anyone know what is involved in getting a Roundy’s Rewards card? Is this something I can get instantly at the customer service counter?
Yes, you get it instantly. It is very easy to sign up.
And just remember if you’re buying a bunch of cereal in hopes of going to the movies tonight, you won’t be able to. You’re allowed to enter a maximum of 5 codes per day. (You need six for a movie) So plan ahead and start entering the codes right away!
I was just at the Rainbow in Blaine by Northtown and I had bought 4 deoderatnt and 4 body washes…Gillette and it didn’t go by shelf price to reach the 30.00 threshold. It is based on the 3.50 sale price so I didn’t get it. I had to go to customer service and they were telling me that getting it for free was coupon fraud or anything then paying less then 30.00 for the items. Apparently others had been there and had problems as well as she had contacted her corporate manager and it has to be 30.00 with out free itmes. Then you can use manufactures coupons. Just not get one free?!!!! I know they also feel with the bogos that using bogo covers both items so they don’t allow another cpn or in this case the $8.00 credit as that is coupon fraud. I don’t understand couponing. What is and isn’t fraud? If each place handles the policy different and believe it to be fraud at one but not another how do I know what is and isn’t? Sorry but it is so frustrating when they tell me that to expect the 8.00 when I use a bogo coupon is fraud then I feel bad and am not sure? Anyone know? I would have bought another set but since the bogos didn’t work I asked for coupons back and gave them the items back.. If Walgreens had the items (tried 2 on Saturday then would get RR?
Also, I had one coupon that didn’t print the watermark ? I printed them one after another from the same sight for the Buitoni and one didn’t have it? My color ink is low but he said you could print in black and white and it should still print. First time I experienced it but they took it anyway. I know someone else had posted this problem and earler week?
Anyway they don’t have the total effects body was and wasn’t a spot for it as an FYI. I only doubled 5 coupons as they were out of some items but I didn’t want to get a rein check after all that.
I went to the Rainbow in Eden Prairie at 2:45. They had lots of Kellogg’s cereal so that was not a problem. The $1.99 rice krispies do not count. It is a sale price so you don’t want to grab those. At the back of the store is a big pile of the specially marked boxes to get the movies and such.
However, this store was almost out of everything else that was on sale. There was another woman in the store at the same time as me (she looked like another couponer) and she was just as frustrated I was. We met at different parts of the store looking for the same out of stock items. She said she prefers the store in St Louis Park, which is where I am but I have had just as much trouble finding stuff in that store also.
If you sign up at Kraftfirsttaste.com, you can receive special member only coupons on a few new Kraft items.
One of my offers was $1.00 off Kool Fun Fiz
This item was on sale at Rainbow today for $1.99
Double coupon day = FREE item! Woo!
I love being able to use my Wags RR at Rainbow. Used a $10 tonight and got my beef tenderloin for $0.31.
I did pretty good tonight. I was planning on going Saturday to do my doubles, but thank goodness I read on here that they were only doing 10 today and not Sat. I really hope that was true! LOL. So I scrambled and got my list together. I spent $4.08 on $46.36 worth of groceries. I knew since I was going so late that things were going to be out. My PNS was out of 100 cal Kraft cheese and Yoplait Delights and Pampers wipes. I also got to use a Catalina for $1 off that doubled so that was nice. It was the one from Kraft a couple weeks ago. I did do the 3 packs of strawberries and got my $2 OYNO coupon. I have rhubarb so the strawberries will make a good combo. This is what I got for FREE:
(2) 8th Continent Soy Milk
(4) Lean Cuisine
(2) Suave shampoo
(1) Kraft 100 Calorie
(1) Starbucks VIA 3 pk And none of my coupons were for free products. :)
Carrie, THANK YOU for putting these ads and coupons together! Wow, I feel like I have hit a gold mine. Your MN deals are a week ahead of my Pick N Save deals, but no matter, they still match up for the most part. I’m totally new to this couponing “thing,” so I feel pretty accomplished after spending $110 today and saving over $70!!! I’m sure I could have done better, but it was my best effort for the amount of time I had.
P n S is so irritating though. They only double 5 coupons. Today was an exception and they doubled 10. I did two transactions and gushed to the cashier how difficult it must be…they HATE coupons. I despise the extra work I have to go to to make different transactions so that I can double all my coupons! People on the East and West Coasts have it so great with their Safeways, Krougers and Giants. I think a lot of them can double as many coupons as they like, use e-coupons and stack coupons…stores in the Midwest need to get with it! Don’t you think?
Thanks again, Carrie!!!! You are amazing! Saving me LOADS of time and money!
I too would like to thank you Carrie…I was skeptical when people posted “I got this much and only paid this much” stories in the past…..Well yesterday, I did two transactions in the morning, one cereal deal and one cereal and 100 calorie cheese deal. I got 12 boxes of cereal and 7 bags of the cheese and paid $2.26oop. I would NEVER have believed this was possible. I was also able to get Del Monte Fruit Chillers (at least 30 boxes) to use for an upcoming fundraiser for the Breast Cancer 3-day) and since the serving cost us 6 cents each it will be more profit for our team!!!! (I took my husband back last night and did the cereal thing again) Of course it is due to all of the work that you and others do to put this site on. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
Good Day yesterday….
2 transactions $27.xx for about $105 in groceries.
#1 – P/G – (Dog food, 2 pampers wipes, dawn hand renewal, olay face wipes), 4 pringles, 6 lean cusine – $24.00.
#2 – 6 knorr, 7 pringles(party coming up), 2 lean cuisine, 2 promise (raincheck), 2 loaves of bread. – $3.25
I love 10 coupon days
I got the new KoolAid Fun Fizz product for free with a doubled coupon yesterday. Rainbow had their regular price at 1.99 and at KraftFirstTaste.com there was a coupon for $1 off. Double the coupon and it’s free. I tried it today and thought it tasted like a bunch of NutraSweet. (Think alka seltzer mixed with red NutraSweet). If I’m going to taste sugar, I’d rather it be the real stuff. Glad I didn’t pay for it, but the kids will have fun with it.
Arm and hammer has coupons on their website. One was for $1 off toothpaste. I got a tube of Advance Cleaning Arm & Hammer Dental Care for 62 cents.
Just and FYI I jumped the gun and requested my movie ticket from the Kellogg promo however I should have requested concession $ I think. You can only use these tickets on Touchstone/Disney pictures. I looked up upcoming movies for Touchstone/Disney and it seemed like Toy Story 3 was the only one worth seeing (through the end of 2010 anyway) I have a 2 yr old and I’m not sure he’s only enough for it and tickets at my closest participating theater (Manns Plymouth) are only $5.75 (even though my ticket is a $12 value, no cash back). $10 in concessions would allow you to get your full monies worth in my opinion.
Anyway, make sure you look into what movies are coming out and it’s movies you actually care to see.
Thanks again Carrie!! Last night I spent $89 on four transactions and got $204 worth of groceries!! (about $151 after store discounts)
I got the 6 boxes of kellogg’s/$10/free milk, the PnG $8 oyno, the $2 onyo produce, so saved about $60. I also got a $1 oyno print out (is that what a catalina is?) from the Pringle’s purchase.
Although I messed up on the kellogg’s purchase and when it didn’t reach $25 I scrambled and bought more things to reach $25. Now I realize I didn’t have to do that……
Oh well! All in all, a very good shopping day! The kids will love all the frozen pizzas and chips. I don’t buy much of that usually cause it’s too expensive! Well and unhealthy….:)
With your Kellogg;’s deal did the $25 count before the $10 was taken off or after? So if I buy 6 boxes for $21 do I have to spend 4 more dollars or $14 dollars because the $10 came off?
Hi Patty,
I did not realize that $10 was going to come off the total right away, so I added more to my purchase to make it back up to $25….But I looked at my shopping list after shopping and Carrie’s notes say that I shouldn’t have had to do that. That the coupons would have doubled. So it should be $25 before the $10 is subtracted and you should be fine. But I didn’t try it like that unfortunately. I was kind of like a deer in headlights and didn’t know what to do, throwing packs of gum, etc. into my cart to get back up to $25….uh, I felt really stupid:) And you know 20 people are in line behind you wondering what the heck??? I am new at this!!
Let me know how it goes for you!
I did the 6 kelloggs cereal deal, and spent $27 before the $10 came off (thanks Carrie!). With 3 doubled $1 coupons the $27 reduced down to $11 (10 + 6), then I had other coupons that got the bill down to $5.11! I will be buying milk for free next Wednesday!
Chaska Rainbow has their 3lb bags of boneless skinless chicken breasts on sale for $4.98, which comes out to be about $1.66/lb. I thought that was pretty good, even if they aren’t the best chicken breasts. I think it might only be Chaska though, for their “grand re-opening”….that’s been going on for a month :)
BTW i got a seedless watermelon for 2.99 (after my $2 off produce it was .99) and it was fabulous! i thought this was a good price for a nice size watermelon and it is so sweet!
Anna, which Rainbow were you at? I was wishing for “cheap” seedless watermelon this week and haven’t seen it.
chaska
Thanks, Anna. Must be because of special deals or overstock in that store. I called our SLP West End store, and they’re $5.99 there. I also called our SLP Cub and SuperTarget hoping for a nearby good deal. SuperTarget has just dropped their price for the weekend, but it’s $4.99.
