Welcome to shopping at Roundy’s stores that operate as Rainbow Foods, Copps and Pick N Save. Sometime this week we should see a new Roundy’s store coupon booklet in our mailbox, so keep your eyes peeled. When we get it we’ll post a list of coupons that match with those deals so we can all maximize our savings.
Read the rules of coupon doubling before you go so you understand how to ensure you get your coupons doubled. Most stores have stopped doubling coupons that say “do not double” and corporate policy says that you cannot use a coupon for the free item in a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal. Although I wish I could, I cannot tell which coupons say “do not double.” Generally though, most printable coupons from General Mills brands (including Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Yoplait, etc.) say that.
If you shop at Copps and your ad doesn’t match the items mentioned in this shopping list, then check out what we saw for sales last week.
Two things to remember about this list of deals. First, it does not include every sale-priced item that has a coupon. It only has those items whose final price is low enough for us to mention it. Second, it is a starting list. As we learn of more deals whose final price is low enough we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Your turn: What other deals did you pick? What was the highlight of your shopping trip this week?

FYI… the Cascadian Farm coupon from eatbetteramerica.com says do not double.
I found bright pink peelie coupons for $1/1 original cheerios (yellow box) which are 2.89 for the smallest box. 2.89 x 6 = 17.34-10 instantly = 7.34- (5) $1.00 double coupons = 2.66 MM, or 3.66 MM if you would have 6 of those coupons (6th wouldn’t double)
Plus free milk and eggs…awesome deal!
I thought I saw these, too. But I thought they were $1 off TWO boxes.
Also found “hang tag coupons” hanging on larger size open pit bbq sauce for
.35 off any size

I “liked” Earthgrains on FB but can’t figure out how to get the coupon. Can anyone help me? Thanks!
Rachel, I’m having the same problem. Maybe we have to dig around more in their facebook wall or maybe they’ll e-mail us the coupon??? I also couldn’t seem to find the Juicy Juice coupon on the printable link. I get to the Nestle website and find I’m already signed up. Anyone else printed it?
Shelly – I dug around a bit and found the Juicy Juice coupon, but it’s for $1/2 instead of $1/1. I’ve updated the link in the post if you still want to print it.
Thanks very much, Laura!
Scrolling down the Earthgrains facebook page, it said on May 31st they were out of coupons….
The Earthgrains coupon is gone I think.
How about the $1 off 2 Starkist pouches (May All You) for 2 free when doubled, plus would it work to combine that with the Buy 2 Starkist pouch products, get 1 Starkist Tuna Salad or Creations pouch free (July All You)?
I am thinking of using the $1/1 kingsford charcoal manuf. coupon from Cub to get charcoal for $4.99. I will also use my $1/2 BAR S coupon for 2 free bologna. It was listed at in the 10/10 sale.
I am not sure if this question had been asked or answered: Does Rainbow accept RR from Wags?
If you use the search tool above-I believe there is a post that discusses this.
Yes, Rainbow takes RR. I even think I saw Carrie post that she has doubled a 1 dollar RR on double coupon day.
Julie W
Carrie asked
>I’ve not personally done any of these pizza deals where you get free milk so I don’t know, >but am curious – anyone know if this milk coupon takes off the value of the milk or the >entire $3 regardless of the price of milk?
I have had the price of the milk taken off and also had the $3.00 taken off. It seems to depend on the cashier. Yesterday I used the milk coupon from last weeks Kellogg’s deal. I only bought the milk and I got money back.
freesamplemama
Last Wednesday, the cashier scanned my ‘free’ milk coupon and it took $3.00 off. This is the first time a Kellogg’s coupon took the whole value off (instead of purchase price) I’ve only seen this happen with General Mills.
Maybe it’s up to the cashier/store???
Sheila, I’ve had the same experience. Sometimes they take the whole amount $3.00 and sometimes they take the price of the milk.
The milk coupon is for $3 off, so if you add another item with your milk you get some money off that too. Example: milk is 2.29, add something for 1.00 and it is like getting that item for .30!
I wish I knew what coupons say do not double on them before I print them.
I have purchased milk with other things before and just received the price of the milk off. So, maybe that is by cashier/store.
The Chef Boyardee ConAgra coupon link says the offer has expired.
The Earthgrains FB page says that the coupon is no longer available.
Why is the above post on here? It lists a couple deals and then provides a link back to here.
That’s what’s called a “trackback.” When another website links to a post here on Pocket Your Dollars, it shows up on that post in the comments.
Thanks Laura! I always wonder about these posts.
I can’t find the state fair coupon on red plum…
Does anyone know if the Rainbow’s in Eagan or Apple Valley take RR’s?
I used my kelloggs cereal coupon on Sat..The cashier said it was for Roundys milk only so I only got 2.29 off on the kelloggs milk deal..Read the bottom of your receicpt. It does say Roundys milk..
I used it for roundys chocolate milk, paid .29 for a gal.
I used it for the Roundy’s organic skim and got the $3 off.
I was at the Riverdale Rainbow today (will be gone on Wed.) and Ken’s salad dressings are on sale for $1.69, plus with a $1 off coupon it will be better than free when doubled. Not quite sure where I got the coupon from though, sorry. Happy shopping!
Check the 5/9 Smartsource
I don’t see the state fair corn dog coupon on red plum either…..
Another possibility for the Pillsbury deal above is to use the $1 off 3 Pillsbury refrigerated items (printable) at http://www.pillsbury.com/coupons-promotions/
… Buy 3 for $6, used doubled coupon and pay only $1.33 each item, plus a free pound of Roundy’s butter. It’s a few cents over the deal described above, but I do like doubling my $1 coupons (and only using one to free up another coupon for doubling)
The coupon from the pillsbury site says do not double.
Thanks so much, Kelly. I don’t buy those pillsbury refrig rolls very often, but I did use your idea to get 3 sweet rolls. My teenage son and his friends are perfectly happy with these as a late night snack or morning treat. With my doubled coupon, and free butter, it was a good deal this morning.
I shop in Appleton, WI and our ad mentioned to look in our newspapers this week for their coupon book. I was wondering if anyone got this or knows what coupons are in it. Wish I knew what day this book was going to be in the paper.
Kelly–I’m in Oshkosh, WI and i didn’t see anything about a coupon booklet–however, both pick n save’s here have had extra copies of the coupon books last time they were out (at the service desk)
Amanda it was at the top of the first page but under the half sheet showing the produce spectacular. I will try the service desk.
thanks kelly–I missed that!
has anyone had success using walgreens RR at the Blaine Rainbow?
I’m sorry to ask a question that I know has been addressed – but I couldn’t seem to find the answer without more digging.
With the General Mills cereal deal, are people finding that it goes by the shelf/sale price of the cereal alone? Or does it go by the price after the instant $10 off. If you buy 6 boxes of cereal for approximately $24 – do the registers use that amount? or $14? The SLP store is still quite generous in their policies, so that store could be a little different.
It is the amount before sales and coupons, so shelf price. If you buy $24 dollars worth of cereal, you should be fine. :)
Thanks, Toni! I knew it was before coupons, but I couldn’t remember about the $10 “instant off” That is helpful. This is one deal that I take full advantage of and always end up paying pennies for cereal/eggs/milk or even coming out ahead unexpectedly!
This depends on store….In Madison, WI they take the $10 off instantly, so you have to add $10 in other purchases to reach the $25 threshold.
Has anyone tried this recently at the lakeville store???
The $10 comes off instantly, but the 5 coupons still doubled for me. I only had $27 in value in my cart. I ended up paying 5.79. This was a MN store, in bloomington, but I think Carrie said the cereal $10 deal is a manufacture coupon, so it should work in all stores? Maybe just MN stores?
The skinny cow coupons are out of prints. Not sure about the facebook one though–I’m not signed up.
I wasn’t able to find the Skinny Cow coupon link anywhere on the page – anyone know where it is? Thanks!
I was referring to the Facebook page, sorry :)
You have to click on the tab for “fan exclusives” and it’s right there. I was only able to print one though. But, it’s two free after being doubled!
Thanks Lisa!
FYI, the printable coupons for Pillsbury products above are DND including the Macaroni Grill, Suddenly Salad, Old El Paso and Totinos.
Just curious, has anyone stopped using their FuelPerks because you have to use them at BP?
Personally, I continue to buy my gasoline at BP using the Fuel Perks discount.
Most people probably aren’t aware that BP sells gasoline to many other gas stations than their own.
I personally can’t see myself taking my business away from a local business owner (since the BP’s are locally owned). I continue to buy my papers and gas at my local BP.
BP stations are locally owned franchises. I don’t believe that it does any good to retaliate against a local franchise owner because of what is happening at the corporate level.
I have stopped buying at BP and the franchise owners can switch to another company. Here are the others that BP sells oil to Castrol, Arco, Aral, am/pm, Amoco, Wild Bean Cafe and, Safeway gas.
I have been shopping with a friend lately, and she absolutely refuses to get her gas at BP. I’m not so picky, (especially, as I drive a lot, and the discount is helpful). She has begun using my card when we go shopping so I can get the fuel perks that she would get! I guess I don’t see the difference if she is buying the gas at a discount or I am, but I am more than willing to accept the “donation” towards my perks. :)
Eileen, that makes me think – I’ve been tempted to ask the person in front or behind me in line that doesn’t have a card to let me scan mine. I’ve never actually acted on that temptation and probably never will, but it crosses my mind :)
Last week MG took my $10 off instantly so good thing I still had enough for the $25 threshold. I’m counting on the same thing with the GM deals this week.
Thanks to this site I spent $50 on $200 worth of groceries over 4 transactions. 2 on Wednesday and 2 on Saturday!
Do any of you ever do 2 transactions back to back? As in splitting up your order into two orders so that you can double 10 coupons between the two transactions? I have two transactions that I would like to do this week and would like to do them in one shopping trip instead of going to the store twice. Have you done this before? Did the cashier have any problem with it? Thanks so much.
I did this once at Uptown Rainbow late at night (not a lot of people in the store) and the cashier was great about it. He knew exactly what I was doing and didn’t have a problem with it. I had 2 separate grocery lists and kept the coupons in 2 separate envelopes. Organization is key for success.
Every week. Two is my limit, be very organized and make sure that there is more than one cashier working at the time (they get a little cranky when they are alone – who blames them though)
I do this just about everytime i go to rainbow, when I get to the check out I always ask the cashier if its okay if i do two. I have never been told no, one cashier said as long as your organized, then no problem! So just make sur eyou have your coupons organized and ready to go. Also I dont do two if the lines are super long, I will usually walk around the store till the lines dwindle then get in line! Good luck!!
I think if you don’t have a ton of items each transaction it isn’t a big deal, a few cashiers (from stories I heard here) are crabby and won’t, I’ve never had an issue and almost always do 2 transactions, and yes be organized before you go to the register!
We continue to buy our gas at BP. To quit only hurts the independant owner & your local economy — not the giant coporation.
The rainbow coupon book will come in the mail on Wednesday or Thursday this week. It will be good for 2 weeks beginning Thursday…. until June 26th. Many good coupons — can’t remember what they all are.
I have done this several times. It only really takes an extra minute to add the second order. I asked before the first time I did it and the cashier said it was fine.
this was responding to doing back to back orders at the same visit to the store
I typically do an order, take it out to my car, regroup and then head back in with a clear head and list. HTH
I will do two transactions at a time when I go in early. However, if someone gets in line behind me, I do one and then get back in line. People are always very appreciative :)
Does anyone know if Rainbow takes catalina coupons that are generated at competitors stores, like Target, for example? If is has the manufacturer’s redemption address on it?
I have been told by a manager at Rainbow that they will accept these as long as they dont say “ONLY redeemable at “Specific” store” hope this helps!
It never hurts to stop by customer service and ask before you shop. Then there’s no surprises at the check out.
The Totino’s pizza roll coupon says do not double or triple even though the bar code start with 5…..
The Totino’s coupon will still double. A cashier once told me that it will double even if it says “DND” as long as the bar code starts with a 5. She said that she (or the store) has no control over what coupons double/don’t double.
Some stores manually adjust the DND coupons. So, while the computer would take them and double them, they do not allow this to happen by intercepting them. Stores operate differently, so just know that your store may be different than another store. In Brooklyn Park, they manually adjust them.
Did two back to back cereal deals this morning…It gave the discount as a coupon so the $25,00 threshold was met. The second transaction discounted the cereal instead so I had to scramble (Grabbed gum, which we needed) for more items to met the $25.00 threshold. Same store different cereals. The Roundy’s milk coupons only took the milk value, not the whole $3.00 off. The coupons generated for milk and eggs are manufacturer which should take the whole value off next time. This was at the Eagan store.
Michele, do you care to share what store you went to? I’m particularly interested in BP. What cereals generated the coupon deduction versus the cereal deduction?
Thanks in advance!
I’m so bummed, ALL of the printable coupons for GM cereal are DND!!
The coupons on the Target.com website don’t say DND.
The sign outside the store said they will be doubling 10 coupons on Saturday, June 26. I don’t think Wednesday was mentioned.
I did the Gen Mills cereal deal with my usual combo of M/G Cheerios and Cinn Toast Crunch. I spent $3.00 out of pocket and got the free milk and eggs coupon.
oh, plus double fuel perks on that Saturday June 26.
The hang tag on the Open Pit was only on the larger bottles….I don’t think it was intended for the smaller ones.
I did the GM cereal deal 3 times and was able to roll the milk, egg coupons. The milk is $3.50 off any gallon of milk, I bought the Kemps select for 3.79 and got 3.50 off. On all of my egg transactions, I bought the extra large eggs for 1.49 and the register took off the full value of the coupon, $1.75.
I had no problem with the $10 off the cereal, I started with $27 in value, got the $10 off and then all 5 of my coupons doubled. Great Value for me today. My kids eat alot of cereal, I think this supply might last us until the end of July.
Carrie – I loved your “work backwards” scenario on the cereal last week. It was sooo helpful to know that as long as my cereal totaled no more than $23 I was going to get my cereal for $1 a box (or less). If it isn’t too much trouble for you, it would be GREAT to have that dollar amount every week!
FYI: I bought 24 Yoplait yogurt 10/$5, and received a $2 OYNO coupon courtesy of Yoplait– wasn’t expecting that! I am not sure how many I had to buy to trigger that, my husband bought $8 and didn’t get one.
Sorry, meant my husband bought 8 yogurts, NOT $8.!
I do 2 transactions at the same time alot. It depends on how busy the store is though and how long the lines are. I went twice today doing 2 transactions each time. I also rolled my milk and eggs coupons. I spent $50 out of pocket for just over $200 in groceries!

Hey everybody, another great deal! Use in-ad coupon for $2.28 Chips Ahoy/Oreo/Nabisco crackers and use $1/1 Oreo Fudge Cremes from All You (not sure which month) to get them for $.28 after doubled coupon! The coupon explicitly states Fudge Cremes ARE included. Also included are Chips Ahoy, and there’s a $1/1 Chips Ahoy with Reeses or Heath in the new All You. Not sure if those specific varieties are included, but you’ll certainly be able to get Oreos super cheap :)
For the Fudge Cremes it’s the May issue. Yellow cover with pink Ranunculus bouquet. :) The Chips Ahoy one is the July All You with red writing and summer drinks on the front. Thanks!
Betty Crocker cake mixes and frostings had $1.00/2 peelies at the Bloomington store.
