This weekend (June 5-6), you can enter more than 100 national parks that usually charge entrance fees for free. Two parks in Minnesota that will be free are Grand Portage National Monument and Pipestone National Monument.
Other fee-free days this year include the following:
- August 14-15, 2010
- September 25, 2010 (Public Lands Day)
- November 11, 2010 (Veterans Day)
Be sure to check the list of national park concession providers that are also offering special deals during fee-free weekends.
(As a side note, try saying “fee-free” five times fast.)
