Troilus and Cressida at Minneapolis Parks. The Cromulent Shakespeare Company will perform Troilus and Cressida at various Twin Cities parks from June 4-26. These free performances are held outdoors, so be sure to bring a picnic, blanket, and/or lawn chairs and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party will be held at the Mall of America Macy’s Court on June 5 from 12-3pm. Enjoy iced tea from The Tea Garden and miniature desserts from CRAVE. Get all dolled up with Alice in Wonderland-inspired makeup, try on the Mad Hatter’s hat, and enter for a chance to win Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” on Disney Blu-Ray and DVD.

Maple Grove Farmers Market. Yes, I know that there are many cities that have a fabulous farmers market, but since Carrie and I both live in Maple Grove (literally six blocks apart), I wanted to highlight the Maple Grove Farmers Market, which opens June 10 at the Maple Grove Community Center. This farmers market is held every Thursday from 3-7pm all summer long. There is a weekly storytime for the kids, a playground, walking trail, music, and other activities. They even have a Facebook page!

Kiddywampus is an interactive toy store and art studio in Minneapolis that offers a free storytime from 10-10:20am every Friday. Recommended for ages 2-6. When you show up in June for storytime, you’ll receive a $5 off your $25 purchase coupon valid for that day only. Check out their events calendar to find out about other events.

Your turn: Have you ever gone to any events like these?

Love, love, love Kiddywampus. It’s a bit of a hike from our house but we like to go to the Action Painting and throw paint on the walls. The store is super cute, and the storytimes are fun.
