‘Tis the season for summer city festivals – have you already had yours?

Earle Brown Days Festival. The 28th annual festival in Brooklyn Center is going on June 24-26. The parade starts at 6:30pm Thursday night, and other events going on throughout the weekend include a birthday party for Dunkin the Dolphin, a kids’ fishing contest and craft area, and much more. Most events take place at Central Park off of 694 and Shingle Creek Parkway.

Fridley ‘49er Days Festival. This weekend (June 24-26) is the annual Fridley Days Festival. It starts with a parade on Thursday night and continues for the next two days with free street dances Friday and Saturday night along with other activities. For a full schedule of events, go here.

White Bear Lake Aviation Event will be held on Saturday, June 26 from 9am to noon. Enjoy flight demonstrations, vintage airplane displays, and find out about the history of Benson Airport in White Bear Township. The Young Eagles program will be providing free flights to kids ages 8-17.

Centennial Lakes Park in Edina has free cultural performances every Sunday through Thursday at the Maetzold Amphitheater. You can either pick up a schedule of events at the park or download the Summer Entertainment Calendar.

    Columbia Heights is also having their Jamboree this weekend. Carnival rides start tonight through Sunday. Parade on Friday 6-830pm. Fabulous Fireworks on Saturday at Dusk.

    I hate when neighboring cities hold their events on the same days. Then we miss out on one or the other no matter what. Do they do that on purpose?

    This weekend is Savage’s Dan Patch Days. Best thing for people with kids is the inflatables on Saturday from 12 – 8pm. $10 for unlimited access to a field full of large, and I mean the big, inflatables. Besides that there is food, bands and fireworks among other events…
