We just had our stay-cation at the Radisson in Plymouth. It was a groupon deal and we paid I think $70 back in March for a 1 Saturday night stay, 2 free prime rib dinner buffets and 2 free drinks (alcohol or not). The buffet dinner was reg. priced at $30 each and the room goes for about $100 a night. So, all in all I think it was a great deal. We also brought the kids so we just paid for their dinner on Sat. night.

My husband and I try to get out of the house twice a year. We have stayed in downtown Minneapolis for $50/ night. We then use our monthly dining card for dinner. We ate at Ichiban for $70. We have also traveled to Chippewa Falls and stayed at the Avalon hotel for a night, they offer AAA rates of $69 for a standard room. There are tons of free things there as well. The zoo is free, Leinenkugels brewery tours are free, and a few wineries are free as well.

We have done the last minute deals at Priceline and gotten a 4-star hotel in downtown Mpls for $100.00 which inlcudes valet parking. We typically take a picnic basket full of food for dinner and rent a movie in the hotel….not really cheap but we feel like we get away!
