Twin Cities readers: If you’re on the hunt for free mulch and compost, check out the Star Tribune Dollars & Sense roundup of locations around the Twin Cities that offer free compost. You’ll have to bring your own shovels and bags, but if you’re willing to do a little bit of manual labor, you can get it for free!
For our non-local readers, I’m sure that you can find free mulch and compost somewhere in your area, too. Just contact your city parks or recycling department to see if they can help you find a good resource for it.
