Free Car Seat Workshop at Babies R Us (6/22)

Prospective parents and family members can attend periodic free workshops at Babies R Us, including a Buckle Up & Boogie car seat workshop tomorrow (Tuesday, 6/22) from 6:30-7:30pm. You’ll learn how to choose and use a car seat to keep baby safe.

My guess is that since this is at a store, there will probably be a bit of a sales pitch included, too. If nothing else, hopefully you’ll get to see a variety of car seats and make a more informed decision before you buy.

Find a Babies R Us location near you – you may need to call ahead to register. For our Twin Cities readers, there are locations in Maple Grove, Richfield, and Roseville.

Your turn: Have you ever been to a workshop like this before? What did you think of it?

Then after you get a carseat, you can call your cities fire department and set a FREE appt with them to help you install your carseat and do a safety check with it and you to make sure all your questions are answered and its installed properly. I did this when my daughter was born at my local Maple Grove Fire dept and then again when she turned 1 and we switched from an infant carrier to a car seat. I learned so much and its all free!! I know my city usually designates 1 day per month to setting these appts but they can fill up fast.

A definite MUST Do, Rachel. Most car seats are NOT installed correctly even though most parents think they are.

Does this also help in buying the right booster seat.
