CVS Shopping List 6/27 – 7/3/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

There’s a great deal on Aveeno products this week at CVS where you can get four hair care products for free. You can also get Stayfree products for free this week when you use a coupon from this Sunday’s coupon inserts. Plus, we’re adding a new on-going deals section to this list where you can share ideas for matching up coupons with CVS’s everyday prices (not just sale prices). If you haven’t already, be sure to register to receive emails from CVS and register your ExtraCare card to receive a coupon via email for $4 off your $20 purchase.

If you’re new to CVS, your first step is to learn the ins and outs of the Extra Care program and learn how to read this shopping list. If you are just getting started and have questions, please leave them in the comments so we can all help you learn how to spend less.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas, or we read about other deals across the blogosphere, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Your turn: What on-going deals at CVS could you add to our list?

  1. serena says:

You are allowed up to 6 packs of stayfree pads. If i have three bogo coupons will I get 6 for free? And can I do all six in one transaction or should I do it three times? Same with the m&m? I have never done a bogo deal so I din’ know if I could/should go get 6 packs of m&m and 6 packs of the pads free at one time????
    Thanks guys!!

    • Shannon B. says:

I went this morning and had 4 coupons for both the stayfree and the m&ms and they all worked. I didn’t know it even stated 6, but oh wel I got 8 of each for free. I also did the Aveeno deal, which I paid with a $10ECB and 8.46 out of pocket and got back $10ECB’s and can submit the $10 rebate.

      • Shannon B. says:

I also got 4 of the household items for $10- 4 in coupons = $6 oop but I got $5ECB’s back and also a pack of huggies little swimmers with a $2crt and a $1.50 coupon from huggies. Total trip saved me $79.10, oop $22.08 (including $3.04 in tax) and got back $15 in ECB’s.

  2. Julie says:

The Stride coupon is buy one pack of Stride gum, get a pack of Stride Shift gum free, with a max value $1.49 – not sure if this is intended, or will work on the three pack.

  3. Stacykristen says:

Could you use the mail in rebate for the schick Hydro razor to make that an even better deal?

  4. jo says:

Just got back from CVS – total value of purchase before coupons $62.05. Once all coupons and ECB applied $0.63. The cashier and manager were amazed. Received $11.00 in ECB and will submit for $5. SC Johnson rebate. I think I did good.

    • Julie W says:

Jo, can you write out your purchases? i’d love to see it. Thanks

      • jo says:

2 Boost B1G1 1/2 off (2-$3/1 Q), 2 John Frieda Shampoo (2-$3/1 Q), 2 Windex (2-$1/1 Q), 2 Pledge ($2 Q) , 1 Tums ($1 Q + $2 ECB from coupon spitter outer), 4 cases water (no Q’s), 4 Nature’s Bounty Vit D (4-$5 Q’s), ECB survey $15 Q (4th advisory survey in 3 month’s) + ECB from last week’s sale. Rcvd $11 ECB and windex and pledge qualify for SC Johnson $5 rebate. $5 ECB rcvd from Windex/Pledge, $3 ECB from John Frieda Shampoo, $1 ECB from Tums and got a bonus $2 ECB good for three days only at the end of the receipt.

  5. Lisa M says:

To use a $4/20 CVS coupon, do you have to still have $20 after coupons? Or is it before coupons?

    • Jennifer H says:

It’s before coupons. Just make sure you give them the $4/20 coupon FIRST then the rest of your coupons.

    • Therese says:

Jennifer is right (I received this coupon on Saturday)

Hand over the $xxx/xxx coupon before any other coupon.

I love getting these coupons at the store….it’s like free money to spend!!!!

I also like CVS’s policy that you DO NOT have to match up item per coupon (like Walgreens)

So you money goes farther at CVS!!!

  6. Shannon B. says:

After they ring everything up and it’s 20, hand them that one first. Not manu. coupons because i’m not sure if it will work then because you will be under 20. So i’d hand them that one first and then others.

  7. Lisa M says:

Bounty paper towels 6-pks are on sale for $5.97- If you got the $2.00 off spitter outer coupons, that makes it $3.97 which I think is good?

    • Shannon B. says:

There is also a .25/1 coupon from a P&G ad not too long ago.

    • Drava says:

I’ve received the $2 off Bounty Paper Towels 6pk or larger coupon twice now. Does anyone know if you can use both coupons for one 6pk? The fine print says “Extracare card must be presented to get these savings. Savings applied to total purchase with specified product. Excludes prescriptions, alcohol, gift cards, lottery, money orders, postage stamps & tobacco products. No cash back. Tax charged on pre-coupon price where required.” It doesn’t say one coupon per purchase, etc. Has anyone tried this or something similar???

  8. Amber says:

My CVS had Pantene shampoo and conditioner on clearance for 50% off $4.99 –> $2.50 and I got a $2 off Panetene shampoo/conditioner or styler from the coupon spitter outer machine AND used my $1 off 1 Pantene shampoo/conditioner. Cashier didn’t adjust it down, so I made .50, but even without the overage, it is a GREAT deal for Pantene!

  9. Jennifer says:

I had a good night at CVS.:) CVS is so coupon friendly. I spent $82/saved $62 and have $30 ECB to use (almost all things we needed). (I could’ve done better but I’m still learning and do two transactions max.) One idea for the Aveeno deal: In the store, more products are eligible for the deal than in the circular, including the larger size lotions and SPF. I needed sunblock for a trip over the 4th. The Aveeno Positively Ageless sunblock is $10.99. (I wouldn’t usually spend that.:)) The Aveeno website has a $5 off brick coupon for it under the sun protection tab. I bought two and a hair gel ($1.50 off coupon) and paid $16.97 after coupons with 10 ECB. If anyone needs sunblock I thought this is a good deal. Also, check the 75% off make-up. I found some good deals with coupons from the “spitter.”:)

Thank you Carrie and Laura! PYD has really helped us to save money and I’m still learning. I appreciate it!

  10. Jennifer says:

I forgot to add, I’m so glad to hear your daughter is home now. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

  11. Joe says:

The link for the $10/$25 Aveeno products rebate goes to the $20 Aveeno ageless vitality rebate. Does the $10 Aveeno products still available?

    • Laura Wales says:

Joe – Hmmm. Not sure what’s going on there as the link originally took you to the correct rebate. I’m digging around a little bit on the Aveeno website and will let you know what I find. I think I’m going to send them an email as I have not yet submitted my rebate form.

  12. rochelle says:

Got a jumbo pack of Pampers (free), 3 bags of candy (free), 6 packs of Stayfree pads (free). 4 aussie/herbal essence stylers & a 8 roll pack of bounty paper towels for $4.20! Saved $66!
I didn’t use any ECBs today. Bottom of purse (oops). Wish they would have had the BOGO M&M’s in stock so I could have …6 of those for free too!

CVS stores accept competitors coupons! Stated it on the sign outside Mounds View and confirmed at the Coon Rapids store today. I was so excited about this! Mine took Target ones like store coupons so you could pair them up with manufacturers!

    • Amber says:

Rochelle – Is this something new…like it just happened in the last week or so?? Cuz I asked my CVS store in Woodbury if they accepted competitor coupons and they said they do for new/transferred prescriptions but not for merchandise (I asked this about 3 weeks ago) Also, do you think this is a store-wide deal or only a select few stores??

  13. serena says:

I will have to check with my CVS tomorrow. I thought they didn’t take competitors,

  14. Wendy says:

I bought 2 Aveeno products – one for $6.99 and one for $17.99, bringing my total to $24.98 (before tax). Does anybody have some advice one this? Will it qualify for the $10 rebate on $25 of Aveeno products? Thanks

  15. Sue says:

I went to CVS today and noticed on the bottom of the receipt under This Week’s Extra Buck Offers that the Power Bar deal is listed. I bought 3 power bars a couple of weeks ago. On my receipt today it says:
    Quantity Toward this Reward 3
Quantity Needed to Earn Reward 1
Does this mean this deal is still going on and I can get 3 more and earn ECB’s?

Also, the Warm Delights had peelies for $1.00/2.

  16. Monica says:

Still trying to find a rebate for Aveeno that does not require purchasing the Ageless Vitality stuff. Any luck, yet?

    • Amber says:

I don’t get the Aveeno thing…I had the page bookmarked and just clicked on it (it worked 2 days ago because that’s when I printed it) and it brought me to the Ageless Vitality page. Didn’t it go through the middle of July???

  17. Drava says:

If it turns out that the rebate form is permanently AWOL, I have a blank form scanned that people can use. It’s about a 3meg jpg.

  18. trish says:

did we find anything out on the aveeno rebate form?

  19. Candi says:

Drava, Can you email me the jpeg file at mfignar@yahoo.com
    Thanks so much!

    • Drava says:

Hi Candi, I just emailed it to you. Hopefully you’ll be able to print it out! Let us know if it works!

  20. Shannon says:

I am new to this so can someone please explain to me if a store has a buy one get one store promo AND I have a buy one get one coupon (or several)
how does this work and/ or how many can I get if I want to get them free in the end???
    Thanks!
(and I’ve been doing pretty well myself in this new adventure!)

    • Drava says:

I *think* if the store has a B1G1 free and you have a coupon for the same, they would both be free then. If, for example, you have four B1G1 free coupons, you should be able to get 8 total free (as long as the store will accept them). Anyone correct me if I’m wrong!

  21. Raine says:

Do the 3 products for the S.C. Johnson Rebate have to be different? I purchased three ziplock bags so does that count as three products?

  22. Lisa O says:

Is anyone else having trouble printing the Schick rebate form? It keeps saying I’m entering the wrong code, but it’s not. I’ve tried lower case, caps lock, etc., it’s not working! Help!

  23. Vernon says:

I spoke to a Ken at Aveeno customer service (877)298-2525 yesterday about the $10/$25 rebate form not coming up. He said it would be available after the holiday around July 6th or 7th. He advised the deadline to submit the rebate is July 18th…I bought (1) shampoo & (1)conditioner for 6.49 each and 2 daily moisture lotions 8oz for 5.99 each. I used (2) $1.50 off coupons for the shampoo & conditioner, (1) $2.00 (online) coupon for the lotion. Spent $20, got 10 ECB and will submit the rebate once the form is updated for $10. Thanks Carrie and others for all of the great info & deal scenarios, they really help your dollars stretch further.

  24. Vernon says:

Just tried Aveeno $10/$25 rebate form after my post and the correct form came up….Also deadline to submit is 7-31 for purchases made through 7-18.

    • Laura Wales says:

Thanks, Vernon! I just got an email from Aveeno letting me know that the rebate form was back up, too. It should work for everyone now. I’m glad they fixed this!
