First-time Aldi shoppers, remember to bring a quarter (not 25 cents, but a quarter) for the refundable deposit on your cart and bring your own grocery bags. They take cash or debit card, but not credit card. Find an Aldi near you.
If it helps you appreciate Aldi a little more, read Wikipedia’s article about them and learn that Aldi is owned by the parent company that owns Trader Joe’s. Don’t forget Aldi’s double guarantee too, where you will get a replacement product AND a refund if you are not 100% satisfied.
If you don’t live near an Aldi, but can get your hands on an ad remember that Target and Walmart will price match equivalent produce items (if sold in the same quantity, packaging, etc.) and Walmart will price match generics if they carry a Great Value brand in the same size/quantity.
Your turn: Have you ever taken advantage of Aldi’s double guarantee?
Groceries
Grapes. $0.75 per pound, sold in 2-pound clamshell for $1.49.
Cantaloupe. $1.19 each.
Blueberries.$1.39 per pint. Typically grocery stores don’t sell them for less than $1.50 per pint, so this is a great price.
Coffee. $4.99 for a 34.5 ounce can of ground coffee. This matches a good sale with coupon, although I’ve never tried Aldi’s Beaumont brand so I can’t tell you if it is any good. Anyone else have an opinion?

The Beaumont coffee is just fine if you are not a big time coffee snob. We drink 2 pots per day so this coffee works fine for us.
My husband has had Beaumont brand before and agrees with Paulette. He doesn’t drink it black, but it tastes just fine with the free creamer we always get from Rainbow :)
I used Aldi’s double product guarantee when I got a can labeled “water packed tuna” and it was in fact “oil packed tuna”. Instead of the a full refund and product replacement, they gave me two cans. (I took my oily label which stated “water packed” so they wouldn’t think I was crazy.) They were so nice about the refund.
I wish we had an Aldi’s in Brainerd. The nearest one is in St.Cloud and I can’t justify the trip for Aldi’s alone.:(
I have used the double guarantee a couple of times actually. My experience has been that you have to be able to withstand them not being pleasant about it. I took taco shells back to the one in Coon Rapids and something else (can’t remember what) to the one in MoundsView. I won’t be buying anything except produce at Aldi’s anymore unfortunately.
Several times I have gotten money back plus a new product from Aldi, if I haven’t been satisfied with the product. The location in Inver Grove Heights has always been very pleasant about it.
Just a FYI, I bought frozen salmon at Aldi’s and it was terrible!! I will continue to purchase this at Costco
Cath – You can bring it back to get a refund no questions asked – or even just the empty package. They’ll give another bag too, which you won’t want, but could give to someone else that might like it or just take the refund and leave the new product at the store.
Has anyone ever tried to return icky produce? Bought a watermelon last weekend and was so disappointed. For one thing the Seedless label was totally wrong, for another it had no taste at all. My kids won’t touch it. Feel weird bringing a cut- into- watermelon back to a store……..
Mel – Last week when I was in the store a gal mentioned to me that she once bought bad bananas and a manager overheard her and said, “we will give you your bananas free today.” The lady didn’t even have the bananas with her. All that to say, be bold – bring the bowl of cut up fruit in and tell them you didn’t like it. Let us know how it goes.
