Walgreens Shopping List 5/23 – 5/29/10

This content uses referral links. Read our disclosure policy for more info.

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Walgreens weekly deals include everyone’s (well, most everyone who wears contacts anyway) favorite deal – free Complete contact solution. Actually, it’s better than free when you use coupons and the Register Rewards program. You can also get free Colgate toothpaste and Goody barrettes or headbands this week. The barrettes and headbands are great gifts for young girls or as stocking stuffers (ahem…yes I did say that) or in Operation Christmas Child boxes.

If you’re new to all of this, then learn how the Register Rewards program works and learn how to read this shopping list. Don’t forget that some other stores will accept Register Rewards like a manufacturer’s coupon.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas, or we read about other deals across the blogosphere, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Helpful hint: Walgreens is the one store where an advertised sale like “2 for $4” usually requires you to buy two products. The first one rings at full price and the second product will ring at a lesser price to bring the total to $4, using our example. If you ever question whether you need to buy two to receive a sale price, ask the cashier to scan one item for you. If it rings at full price, then you know you need to buy two products. If it rings at the sale price, then you don’t.

Your turn: What was the best deal you got at Walgreens this week? What other deals did you find?

Comments

  1. There's also a "Combo's" coupon in the June All You mag for $1/2 :)

  2. The OFF! Clip-On Mosquito Protection items also qualify for the SC Johnson $5 rebate too if you buy three or use it in combination with two other SC Johnson qualified products.

  3. The Hunts also will apply toward the 10.00 purchase for $25 in coupons from the all you magazine in May? There is also a coupon for $1/5 that would make it cheaper. :-)

  4. Not sure if the hunts was from May all you or another flyer sent to me with coupons that apply toward the coupon rebate offer. Can someone confirm?

  5. Maryellen says:

The scrubbing bubbles refill is $5.49 and the coupon is good only up to $3.99 so you pay$1.50.

I also used a coupon for $1.00 (don't know what week that was from) for 3 packs of Trident and the walgreens in ad coupon for 3 packs making it .33 a pack.

There is a tic tac coupon out there too. The buy one get one free and in ad coupon makes it .50 a piece.

I used a $1.00 off Hersheys Pieces one sale for $2.50 makes it $1.50.

  6. There are no prints left for the Keebler pecan Sandies.

  7. Has anyone ever used the clip on Off? Does it work?!?

  8. The Hawaiian continuous spray sunblock are $11.99 each and there are $2/1 peelies on the cans and B1G1. So two cans cost me $8.00 or $4 each.

  9. Awhile back, there was a display at Rainbow with $2/2 coupons for Cheez-its. Just a reminder in case anyone else still has one. I do and we love Cheez-its!

  10. There is a coupon in the ad for trident gum, 3/$2, I also had a $1 off 3 manufacurer coupon so I paid $1 for 3 packs.

Banana boat sunscreen is BOGO for $10.99. With 2 $1/1 coupons the price would be$4.50 each. Is tha a good deal for sunscreen?

  11. Here is a coupon for $1.00 off the Ironman products making them free after coupon and Register Rewards:

    http://www.winrohto.com/

Register for the giveaway and you'll be presented with an option to print out the coupon, it's Bricks coupon so you can only print 2 per PC.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this site, I've just discovered it and really like the shopping lists!

    • I just tried it and got this message:

We're sorry, but this coupon campaign

has already reached its print limit.

  12. Sorry about that, I printed mine about 5 hours ago and just assumed they'd still be available.

  13. Rebecca says:

FYI… the "Off" coupon in the May Walgreens Coupon Booklet excludes the clip-on…

  14. The Walgreen's manager told me this morning that if I used the $2 off Complete coupon that the RR would not print out. Has anyone else had this problem?

  15. Rebecca says:

so sorry… my bad! I just looked at the coupon booklet AGAIN, and found ANOTHER coupon for the Clip-On Starters… any chance they will still give me the coupon value if I go back??

    • SarahBeth says:

They probably will. Just bring them with you (and the receipt) in case they need to do an "exchange."

  16. Maryellen says:

I used the coupon yesterday and the RR printed fine.

  17. Maryellen says:

Oh, I had other items with it, I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

  18. SarahBeth says:

I think Glade and Raid in the list above would qualify for that rebate as well.

  19. SarahBeth says:

    List above says:

Renuzit Super Odor Neutralizer – buy one, get one free (2/$2.99)

Buy 2 and use two $1/1 Renuzit from 4/18 Red Plum insert

Final price: $0.50 each after coupons**

**This is a great “filler” item to bring the number of items in your transaction up to the number of manufacturer’s coupons (including Register Rewards) you’re using since it doesn’t require any manufacturer’s coupons to get this price.

Not sure if this qualifies as a "filler" since you are buying 2 and using 2 MFR coupons? Could be that someone just got carried away with "copy/paste" :o)

    • SarahBeth – You know me so well. Yep, me and my copy and paste. I really think I should not be working on the lists late at night. I clearly lose track of details and that gives Laura (and all of you) stuff to tease me about :)

  20. SarahBeth says:

This happened a few weeks back with Benedryl – but that was just a fluke. I use coupons for RR items all the time and the register always prints it out.

  21. can someone tell me the price of nature made vitamins this week.thanks

  22. Rebecca says:

Just in case anyone hasn't done this rebate yet, Renpure shampoo and conditioner are BOGO this week and some bottles have a "try me free" rebate around the bottle, so two free!

  23. Can someone help me find the Blue Diamond coupon on their website? Thanks!

  24. I was just at Bloomingtons Wallgreens off France Ave and they had some types of Suave shampoo marked down to $1.00. Not sure if it's the same one listed in printable coupon, but may be free and possible $5 RR if you need 15 bottles of shampoo/conditioner.

  25. Nevermind, just noticed for RR you need Suave Professionals and for coupon as well. The ones marked down to $1 was the Suave Naturals.

  26. Far bottom right in a little blue box.

  27. yolanda says:

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the Noxzema razor deal. Am I using a $2/1 for the full priced one and a $2/1 on the free one, making them both free? Does Walgreens accept two coupons on a BOGO deal?

  28. Melissa says:

At the Maple Grove Walgreens, the only Noxzema shavers that were $2.99 were the bikini shavers. The regular shavers were $4.99 – $5-99, so without the other coupon i won't bother. Anyone find it yet?

  29. CarrieP says:

I can't get the $1 Dove coupon. Why?

  30. I sent my rebate in for this the first week of March. Still have heard nothing. Stopped using the shampoo, too. Made my hair 'gummy'. Oh well!

  31. They are all gone, but remember, we don't share zip codes for coupons!

  32. Melissa says:

Not sharing zip codes for coupons is news to me. I will have to check the coupon sites to see if they have issues with it and if they do I will stop doing it. I know the Rainbow coupon policy says that they don't double coupons that say DND but ALOT of people still sneak them through because the store or cashier allows it. I don't do that because I think that is wrong. Its a written policy that people are violating. I guess we all have to make choices and we are the ones that decide if we can and can't live with them. Thanks for the info!

  33. Shannon says:

The shavers that are buy one get one are the bikini shavers — but they were out of them when I went to my wlagreens, along with the hair stuff barettes too.

  34. You're busy so you have an excuse!

  35. I think some stores just allow it, my cashiers look closely at coupons now since they've gotten strict but they always double the dnd's.

  36. Christine says:

I found it on the left of of page 150-151.

  37. Christine says:

Just a head up, if you are looking for the 8 packs of candy. The Woodbury Walgreens does not have these marked as being onsale, they will ring up for $.99 though.

  38. Kristin OBrien says:

Tried the carefree pantyliner .99 with the 1.00 and the cashier said she couldn't use the coupon since it was over the price of the liner. Anyone encounter this?

    • Yes, I have had that happen. With the Reach dental floss. I just go to Target to get it. It's still free.

  39. Those Glade purchases count towards the SC Johnson rebate as well I believe. Does anyone know if we get BOGO free for the Scrubbing Bubbles or Glade stuff that counts towards the 3 products for rebate? Or it has to be actual purchase?

  40. I just bought Dixie plates at Walgreens for 2/$3.99 and used $1/2 MF Q from Rainbow several weeks ago, ends up $1.49 for each, depending on which one you want, 20 large plates, 24 bowls and 45 medium plates. Regularly $3.99 each, also they took the coupon with the Rainbow logo. Hurry, they are going like hot cakes!

  41. Thank you for taking the time to post all these matchups!!! REALLY HELPS!

Too late now, but this didn't work for me. What order do you need to put the coupons in? I used the manufacturer $2.00 off then the Walgreens and then the BOGO off and it wouldn't work. Then they said you can't use the Walgreens one that would take $4.00 off the 2 items because it says "Not valid with any other offer". So they think that means any other coupon. That was the walgreens coupon, and I have never heard of such a thing. I ended up not buying it.

  43. I just looked at renpure.com – check the status of your rebate at the very bottom. Mine was finally processed this week!

  44. I printed it early this morning 5-28

I have a question…I went to Wags to do the Off clip on's tonight. The manager said that I could not use the bogo, the $2 off and the coupon out of the May booklet. He said that the coupon booklet is a manufacture coupon. So, it would be too many coupons. Is this correct? Is this an instance in which you would use filler items? Very confusing. Thanks for the help!

  46. I tried buy two Nieva lip care items. I used the buy one get one free and the one dollar off one. The cashier said she didn't think I could use both of them. I just took back the one dollar of one coupon back. I had a line of people behind me, and I didn't want to make a big deal about it. ( Then I got home and I didn't get the clearance price that was posted by the product. So now I am bringing them back, and I don't have my coupon.) Then she told be I couldn't use the $5 off scrubbing bubble coupon and the get a refill free when you buy a starters kit. I felt bad and stupid making every one wait as she went to find out. She had to ask 3 different cashiers(all that said it was fine) before she let me use them. I didn't see anything wrong with using the Nieva combo of coupons. I believe I have used a dollar off of a bogo free coupon before at Walgreens.
