Here are some of the latest deals and free events happening in the Twin Cities area. For other events happening this weekend, check out my post from earlier this week. If you’d like to learn of more local deals and events, click here to find other deals we’ve posted (many of which are still good).
Fairview Child’s Safety Fair & Bike Rodeo will be held Saturday, May 22 from 11am-2pm at Fairview Medical Center in Maple Grove. This event is free for kids of all ages and will include bike inspections and repairs, hands-on bike safety training, helmet fittings, and more. There will also be a fire truck, ambulance, and helicopter present for your child to check out as well as a drawing for a free bike. Helmets will be available to purchase at a discounted price ($10). Registration is required, so call 612.672.7272 to reserve your spot.
Minneapolis Parks & Recreation Summer Programming. Check out this fantastic list of free summer programs for preschool-aged children offered at Minneapolis Parks & Recreation. In most cases, you’ll need to call to register for the programs. (Thanks, Minneapoless!)
The Provisions Book. If you live in Minneapolis, the Lake Minnetonka area, or the West Metro, check out savings in your area by stopping by The Provisions Book website. You can also sign up for their email list to receive updates and be entered to win local gift certificates (I – Laura – just won a $20 gift certificate to Baja Sol Cantina) and find current coupons and a listing of local community events.
Rosedale Center Family Safety Event is another safety event that will be held this Saturday, May 22 from 10am-1pm in the East Court of the Rosedale Center. Kids can meet McGruff the Crime Dog, tour the Roseville Fire Department’s fire truck (located in the parking lot near JCPenney and Green Mill), and visit with Roseville’s police officers. The first 75 children will receive a free child ID kit.
Your turn: What other free events do you know of that are happening in the Twin Cities this weekend and beyond?
