Como Town TPT Family Fun Day. TPT Family Fun Day is Saturday, May 22 from 10am-5pm. There will be costumed characters, interactive performances by the Children’s Theatre Company and the Silly Sisters, and a drawing for some high-value raffle prizes. Plus, you can purchase unlimited ride wristbands for $12 (normally $17) from the TPT website. Don’t forget that you can park at the MN State Fair Grounds and ride to Como for free on the Como Shuttle.

This offer is not valid online and is good for evening performances at the Guthrie Theater from Sunday, May 23-Friday, May 28. Tickets range in price from $29-$60.

Mall of America “Killer” Summer Makeover Event. From 12-5pm on Saturday, May 22, stop by the Mall of America Nordstrom Court to get style tips on cool new looks for the summer. You can also get free makeup applications and fashion advice from Francesca’s Collection. You can be entered to win a pass to see the film “Killers” (out June 4) when you bring your gently used prom dress (no more than 3 years old) to donate to Operation Glass Slipper.

Minnesota Scottish Fair. I hope you haven’t recycled your Sunday Star Tribune yet (or if you have, that you can dig it out of the recycling bin while maintaining some shred of dignity) because there is a coupon for buy one ticket, get one at half price to the Minnesota Scottish Fair on Saturday, May 22 from 9am-5:30pm at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington. You can clip the coupon (located on page 4 of the Opinion section) and redeem it at the box office on the day of the event. General admission tickets are $15 (there are discounts for seniors and children) and parking is free.

    Sad, that Bernice hasn't attended the Minnesota Scottish Fair or the predecessor Macalester Scottish Country Fair since it was FREE – at least 25 years ago. She's missing a great event that offers so much more than it did way back then. Where else can you see hundreds of men in kilts ~ and that doesn't include the pipers, dancers & athletes.
