Update: Although I have been able to use MaxPerks Rewards to buy other Reward items in times past, if you try and do that now you’ll get a message saying you can’t. Sounds like they changed the program terms, and I certainly understand why, but we can no longer use Rewards to buy other Rewards items. At the end of the day then, do you think it is better to use an office supply program like this or to just buy your stuff at Target or Walmart, where the prices are generally lower?

OfficeMax’s MaxPerks program is officially my favorite office supply loyalty program. I love it because on weeks like this, when they offer six different products free after MaxPerks Rewards, I can pay using Rewards I earned in their last promotion. In essence, once you get started you should spend a lot less on things for your home office or school. On limitation is that the MaxPerks program is only available to educators (including home schoolers) and businesses.
On to this week’s six different free-after-Rewards items. They are only available online and not found in retail store, so avoid stopping into the store and asking about them because you’ll look silly if you do :) Free shipping is automatically applied to your cart with a $50 purchase.
OfficeMax Hanging Folders – $6.29 (limit 6) (I desperately need some hanging file folders to go with the new manilla folders I bought in their last promotion, so I am happy to see these – yay!)
OfficeMax Heavy Manila Envelopes – 5.99 (limit 6)
OfficeMax #10 Envelopes – $8.99 (limit 6)
Fellowes Bank Box 6-pack – $12.99 (limit 6)
Sharpie Markers 12-pack – $8.29 (limit 6)
InPlace 1 1/2″ Heavy Binder – $8.99 (limit 6)
If you are new to MaxPerks, learn how it works and how to sign up. Be sure you sign up for your free MaxPerks account before you buy these products so you can enter your number to ensure your account is properly credited.
Thanks, The Coupon High!

I like Office Max best because its online and their rewards seem to be quicker. Carrie, do you know if the limit is 6 for this month only? I ask because I bought Sharpies before using their promotion and I wondered if it was a lifetime or this month or what for limits. Thanks!
It’s usually per sale. So if they have a sale twice a year than each sale you can buy six.
I’m being told that I cannot use my rewards from the last promotion (a couple months ago) toward the purchase of these new reward items (my rewards are valid and have not expired). They are essentially saying that I cannot flip my rewards. Did you realize this Carrie or do you think I’m receiving bad info?
Kelli – Someone just emailed me that too. It must be a change in their program as I have been able to buy Rewards items using Rewards in times past, granted I have always purchased things in the store and hadn’t gotten to my shopping yet this week. I will update the post to reflect this and am bummed that they made the change, but do understand their thinking.
After I sent that message to you . . . I think it worked to use my rewards. I’ll let you know for sure in a few minutes.
Carrie:
I placed my order, got all six items being offered with 100% rewards and used my previously earned rewards. It worked beautifully. The CSR I talked to was incorrect. You have to go to the billing information screen and put your reward card number and pin number and then it worked like a dream. Thank you.
Kelli – Awesome! Ordering my supplies is on my weekend to-do list so I am going to try it myself and hopefully it will work without a hitch.
I rolled my rewards yesterday. However, because I wanted to use a merchandise credit and my rewards $$ I had to call to place my order. You are able to only use one number online. I love that we can roll the credits! Let’s hope they keep doing that!
