Carrie’s picks are my thoughts on which coupons from the two coupon insert magazine thingys in today’s paper are most likely to turn into freebies or rock bottom-priced items. Red Plum and Smart Source refer to the specific insert’s publisher so you can more easily cross-reference my list. There is also a buy one Olay Total Effects facial moisturizer, get a body wash free coupon in the Parade magazine too.
Coupon references are to those I got in my home delivered Minneapolis Star Tribune. It’s possible that coupons in your Sunday paper are different than mine; understand why by reading 4 reasons your paper may have different coupons than your neighbor’s. If you live in Minnesota or Western Wisconsin, you can get two free passes to the Water Park of America when you order a Star Tribune subscription through Pocket Your Dollars.
For more own type-A-ness, the coupons are organized alphabetically within category.
If you’re new to couponing, read through my picks from previous weeks to learn from my oh-so delightful commentary in weeks gone by.
If you want more copies of these coupons ask friends, neighbors, co-workers, or even restaurants, coffee shops or libraries for their unused copies. You can also order the specific coupons you want from The Coupon Clippers.
Your turn: Were you impressed with any coupons I didn’t mention or do you know the prices of some of the items I wondered about?
Everyday, Regular Priced Items
Buy the following products with a coupon from this weekend’s paper at their everyday price and you’ll get a great deal or maybe even a freebie.
Keri Lotion. $2 off any Keri lotion should certainly turn into some kind of rock bottom-priced item on the smallest sized bottle around. What prices did you see for this at your store? Did you find travel-sized bottles? (Smart Source)
Hansen’s Natural Soda. I haven’t seen this go on sale much, but if you’d buy it anyway use this week’s $0.50 off coupon to save a little more. (Smart Source)
Weber Seasonings. Last year Walmart had some Weber seasonings regularly priced at $0.62 each, which would make them $0.12 each after this $1 off 2 coupon. Of course we’ll see lots of sales over the weeks ahead too, which might turn into an even better deal. (Smart Source)
Sale Priced Items
If these products go on sale before the coupon expires you should get a rock bottom price or maybe even a freebie. Look through the coupons on the “coupons doubled in value” list below as well, since they could be included here too.
Adams Spot on Flea & Tick products. I imagine this product is not cheap, but flea & tick coupons are very seasonal and I don’t expect to see many of them, so check your store and let us know how much this product is. (Red Plum)
Cesar Canine Cuisine Entrée. Match this Buy 2 Cesar Canine Cuisine Entrées, Get 1 Free Target-issued coupon with the Buy 1 Cesar Canine Cuisine Entrée, Get 1 Free available after registering to ultimately pay for one can and get two cans free. (Red Plum)
Chi Chis Salsa and Tortillas. $1 off when you buy 2 salsa jars or tortillas could be a great deal with the right sale. I buy tortillas when I get them on sale and keep them in my freezer until taco night or breakfast burrito morning. (Smart Source)
Cutter Insect Repellant. Small bottles of Cutter Insect Repellant were $2 last year at Walgreens and other stores, making then $1 after this coupon. For those that are only outside occasionally it is just the right amount to last one season. (Smart Source)
Heinz 57 Steak Sauce. My favorite steak sauce! It won’t be free with this coupon, but we love it and buy it anyway so I’m thrilled to save $1 per bottle. (Smart Source)
Hershey’s Syrup. $1 off 2 bottles of Hershey’s syrup is not going to get you free product, but now that we are into ice cream season we should see lots of sales on these products that can get you the best deal possible. (Smart Source)
Nature Made. Holy cow there are a ton of Nature Made vitamin coupons this week and lots of stores are having Buy 1, Get 1 Free sales too. (Smart Source)
Johnsonville Deli Bites. When new products hit the shelves we often see high-value coupons, like this $1 off, and great sales that make the product free or close to it. It is the manufacturer’s way of getting consumers to try something new and different. I’d expect that to happen with this new Johnsonville product. (Smart Source)
Noxzema Spa Shave Razors. Even this week these razors are $0.99 per package at Walgreens after this $2 off coupon. (Red Plum)
QTips. Qtips coupons are rare, so even though this is only for $0.30 off it’s worth a mention. (Red Plum)
Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-A-Clean Starter Kit. Get a $5 Target gift card with purchase of a Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-A-Clean Starter Kit. This product is also eligible for the $5 SC Johnson rebate. (Smart Source)
Smuckers. Forgive me for taking up space mentioning a $0.25 off coupon, but we like Smuckers 100% Fruit Spread and use these coupons, which come out just a few times per year, to a sale when we buy it. An interesting lesson in cultures is that my Brazilian husband grew up eating jelly out of the jar as a “special treat” on a summer day. That said, it is hard to keep our cabinets stocked so we often use honey on our sandwiches instead. (Red Plum)
Soy Joy. Soy Joy bars often go on sale at the drugstores and are free after coupons like this $1 off a 6-pack and Buy 1 Soy Joy Bar, Get 1 Free coupon. (Smart Source)
Starbucks Ice Cream. Starbucks is making coffee-free ice cream? My family may try it if we can find a great sale to match this $1.25 off coupon.
Tabasco. $0.75 off any Tabasco sauce will get you a small bottle for less than $0.30. Could be a nice thing to keep in the fridge for the company that comes over and loves food with a kick or to use in various recipes, assuming your family’s not too into the spicy stuff. (Smart Source)
V8 Fusion. $0.50 off is a nice value coupon for this product. (Smart Source)
Whiskas. $2 off any dry cat food is a great coupon, but so is Buy 2 Whiskas Tray, Get 1 Free. (Red Plum)
Windex Outdoor Starter Kit. Get a $5 Target gift card with purchase of a Windex Outdoor Starter Kit. This product also has a $2.50 off printable coupon is also eligible for the $5 SC Johnson rebate. (Smart Source)
Wisk. $1 off laundry detergent coupons are semi-rare, but incredibly valuable since we all wash our clothes. Or, I should say that I assume we all wash our clothes :) (Red Plum)
Woolite. Ditto what I said about Wisk’s $1 off coupon. (Smart Source)
Coupons Doubled in Value
If you can shop at a store where the value of your coupon is doubled and these products go on sale before the coupon expires, then you will likely get a freebie or something close to it.
Bic Multi-Purpose Lighter. We need a new lighter, so I hope that these go on sale for $2 soon and become free after this $1 off coupon is doubled in value. (Smart Source)
Blue Diamond Almond Milk. We got one other $1 off coupon a few months back and were able to pick up a free half gallon when it went on sale. We enjoy vanilla flavored milk (soy milk, almond milk, etc) on our cereal or in smoothies. (Smart Source)
Colgate. $0.50 off any Colgate toothpaste could yield a free tube of the regular, old fashioned Colgate if it goes on sale for $1 per tube at a store that doubled coupons. (Smart Source)
Lawrys. Two $0.50 off coupons that will hopefully turn into rock bottom priced spices and marinades. I love stocking up on multi-purpose seasonings and marinades this time of year. They don’t take up much space and last forever, so we get as many as we can and enjoy them throughout the year. (Red Plum)
Lysol. $1 off any disinfectant spray may turn into a free can or a $0.50 can, based on what we’ve seen as sale prices in recent months. (Smart Source)
Pedigree Dentastix. We routinely see Dentastix on sale for $2 or $2.50 at our local store that doubles coupons, making them free or $0.50 each after $1 off coupons like this one we got this week. (Red Plum)
Sara Lee Deli Meat. This $1 off coupon is good for deli meat at the service counter or for the pre-sliced kind found in the deli department. In general, deli meat is expensive, but if a store that doubles coupons carries this and puts the pre-sliced kind on sale, then it could be a good price. Maybe?? (Red Plum)
Starbucks Ice Cream. Wait for a stellar sale and use this $1/1 coupon to get a pint of Starbucks ice cream at a great price. Last summer, when it first hit the market, there were lots of opportunities to get it free and we really liked the mocha chip (I think that’s what it’s called). Yum! (Red Plum)
Suave. There is a host of Suave coupons up to $0.50 off. These often go on sale for $1.66 each (3/$4.98) and after a doubled $0.50/1 coupon would be $0.66 each.
Sweet Baby Ray’s. Hands down this is my favorite barbeque sauce and I’ll wait for it to go on sale for $1 per bottle or less and then use this $1 off when you buy 2 bottles coupon to get two free, after the coupon is doubled, of course. (Smart Source)
Eat Out and Recreation
Boston Market. Various. Expires June 20. (Smart Source)
Buca. $10 off any $20 purchase. Expires June 30. (Red Plum)
Brunswick Bowl. One free game of bowling for up to four people and a discounted family fun pack. Expires June 30, (Red Plum)
Green Mill. Various that expire June 30. (Smart Source)
Olive Garden. $4 off any 2 dinner entrees. Expires July 11. (Smart Source)
Subway. Various Buy 1, Get 1 Free and other coupons. Expires July 4. (Red Plum)

Sweet Baby Ray’s is on sale 10 for $10…score! Free BBQ sauce :)
At Cub…usually helps to know what store :)
My bad…it’s not free. The coupon is for 2, not 1. I hate it when they spell out numbers on coupons. I go through the coupons to fast. Thanks Beth!!
It’s also 1$ at raimbow right now too !!!
And if you use the $1 off Q on double days you will get 2 bottles free!
Did anyone get the Pedigree Dentastix for Dogs B1G1 Pedigree Breathbuster treat
coupon instead of the $1 off Dentastix coupon? Just curious if it was in the Pioneer Press. I understand coupons can vary by region.
Read the Sweet Baby Rays coupon carefully. It’s $1 off (2) 18 oz. bottles or (1) 28 oz. bottle. That means that it’s not free at Cub, it’s $.50/bottle. It is free however at Rainbow Foods when you double on Wed. or Saturday.
Thank you! I didn’t read it closely :(
Did everyone else only have 1 coupon in their Parade magazine? Mine had the Olay as well as two others.
