Walgreens Shopping List 4/11 – 4/17/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Walgreens coupon matchups tell you which coupons to use alongside the sales this week at Walgreens to get free products like shave gel, Benadryl, Sudafed, or Tylenol. This week you can also get cheap Kellogg’s or Kashi cereal.

If you’re new to all of this, then learn how the Register Rewards program works and learn how to read this shopping list.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas, or we read about other deals across the blogosphere, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Helpful hint: Walgreens is the one store where an advertised sale like “2 for $4” usually requires you to buy two products. The first one rings at full price and the second product will ring at a lesser price to bring the total to $4, using our example. If you ever question whether you need to buy two to receive a sale price, ask the cashier to scan one item for you. If it rings at full price, then you know you need to buy two products. If it rings at the sale price, then you don’t.

Your turn: What other deals did you find at Walgreens this week?

Comments

  1. shannon says:

how do you get the chinet coup? I joined the club and still could not see how to print the coup. What did I miss?

  2. Carrie, I’m so glad I found your blog! I am a Super Couponer in the suburbs of Chicago. I used to live in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and am trying to help a friend of mine from that area get started with savings. I will send her to your blog. Are you aware of other blogs that cover promotions in Central Wisconsin? She uses the grocery food stores you have listed. Thanks so much for any info you can share!

  3. Leann says:

I can’t find the $2 off Excedrin, I see $1 off all types. Am I missing something? I can’t get through a week without Excedrin Migraine, please help me find it!!!

  4. Nancy says:

Hi Carrie! Thanks again for getting these lists out so early!! I just wanted to mention, the Chinet coupons weren’t working… the first link offer is over it said and the 2nd one is for cups I believe. I could be wrong~

  5. Tanja says:

I wasn’t able to find the kelloggs b1g1 for cereal on the site. Did anyone else find it?

  6. lori says:

FYI-The stride gum link says it is no longer printable.

  7. Katherine says:

I can’t seem to locate the Kashi cereal coupon (the only one on their site is $1.50/2 cereal bars, or the BOGO Kellogg’s Special K. Any suggestions?

  8. cindy says:

I became a facebook fan of Stouffers this morning, and was able to print a $2.50/1 for family size entree. The photo on the coupon has a lasagna box with ‘easy express’ on it, the coupon specifies ‘on any one stouffers family size entree’. I don’t know what size is in the walgreens ad.

  9. Dawn M says:

I don’t see the Chinet coupon either. I joined club and did search on coupon but no luck.

Thanks Carrie…you do these so quickly now and your help is so appreciated.

  10. Jaime says:

The coupon comes via e-mail for Chinet.

  11. Laura says:

This blog is great and with the help of a friend I am learning how to do this. You can also sign up at Walgreens.com/sneakpeek to see the ad before it comes out in the Sunday paper.

  12. Karla says:

I tried to use the $5 off 2 benedryl or tylenol this morning and the register reward didn’t print. I tried it twice and had to void each one. The manager said that since I used the $5 off coupon it probably didn’t print….she said she had been noticing that it happens more than it used to. Maybe it’s going on the discounted price instead of the regular price. I will try again at another walgreens and do it twice since I have 2 coupons.

    • MB says:

I, too, did the Benedryl deal today (with the $5 coupoon) and the RR didn’t print. So the manager came (after checking the size, brand, etc.) and ended up re-ringing them up again – the RR printed. She gave it to me and then voided the sale. Was VERY nice of her. Glad to get it worked out. *Also they hadn’t received any of the Schick Hydro Shave Gel yet. Did other Walgreen’s have it in stock today??

      • Kari says:

My Walgreens had the shave gel in a different place – up by the front – I had to ask.

Also- my Benedryl RR didn’t print either! So frustrating! The manager gave me a $5 gc instead! I told them I was frustrated, though because the last 3 times I’ve been to Walgreens for 3 different deals, the RRs haven’t printed.

      • Kristin says:

I did not get the RR for the Benedryl deal either, but I did not catch it until I got home. I’m just going to return them and try again. The Anoka (Round Lake & Bunker) DID have the Schick Hydro Shave Gel.

    • Jessica says:

According the lady on iheartwags.com, the $5 manufacturer coupon is ringing in like a RR so it is not printing a RR. She mentioned that unless you have an understandable manager they may not give you the RR. (Just a forewarning.) Perhaps maybe they will fix it though?

      • Chelle says:

I’ve been reading this on other blogs too. Thank goodness I am not buying this product.

        • Kristin says:

I had to go back to Walgreens since I did not notice right away that I was missing the RR for the Tylenol and Bendryl purchase. The Manager was very nice and experimented with a few things to finally get my RR to print. What ended up working was scanning 2 Sudafed products. It did not work scanning 2 Bendryl or 1 of each. She gave me the RR and then just canceled the transaction on her end of things. She apologized to me! I thought that was SO nice.

          • Sarah Beth says:

I tried to buy 2 Sudafed and it did not give me the RR. She had to grab another item from the shelf (maybe she knew which product was working) and then ring those up to get the RR to print – and then she voided the transaction and handed me the RR. She said it was happening all week.

  13. VC says:

Can’t find the B1G1 Special K coupon on your link.

  14. Dawn M says:

Don’t forget the 5.00 rebate for the Chinet dinner plates. It is still good through the 18th of this month. It is GP Everyday Essentials. It was in the red plum a couple of weeks ago.

  15. Theresa K. says:

If you have the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living (May2010) – which I got for very little through subscription offer- there is a Vanity Fair coupon on pg. 81 for $1.00 of 2 Vanity Fair napkins 100ct. I used the coupon today with the BOGO for $2.99 sale at Walgreens. $1.99 for 200 high quality beautiful white napkins to use at my son’s upcoming grad party. It’s my goal to get most of the paper goods for little or nothing, and thanks to PYD I know I’ll do it!

  16. Dawn M says:

I got the Chinet email and went to get the coupon and it said I had already printed the number allowed? I haven’t printed any! Amyone else have this experience?

    • Angela says:

I did and I think it’s because I’ve printed the coupons in the recent weeks for the last walgreens BOGO sale on Chinet paper plates.

  17. caarin says:

I have a questions about the buy 1 get 1 50% off Covergirl. How would that be combined with the buy one get one free coupon from this weeks paper? Would it just end up BOGO? When is the best time to wait to use a coupon like that? Would you wait for a great sale and RRs?

  18. Sue says:

The $3/1 from 3/21 Smartsource insert works for the Buy 1 Schick Hydro 3 or 5 Blade Razor System for $7.99, Get $5 Register Reward making Final price: Free, rather than $2.99 after Register Reward

    • Rhonda says:

I think that $3 one was for “disposable: razors, not the replaceable blade ones, even though they scan they are not for “regular” replaceable blade razors.

  19. Lisa says:

I read on another site that the Benedryl coupon and the RR have the same code. That’s why people are not getting the RR when they use a coupon. I hope that’s not the direction WAGS is going.

  20. sally says:

I cannot find the kellog’s bogo on their site. can anyone help me? Also I got a bunch of catalina’s last week on benadryl for $4 off one, can I use those for this weeks RR.?

  21. Gina says:

If your kids like CheezIts, they have a deal 2 for 5, minus a Walgreens coupon for 2 off (found in the booklet at the front of the store). Combine that with a $2 off 2 boxes I found on a coupon pad at Rainbow a few weeks ago, and that’s 2 bxs for $1. A pretty good deal if you like these.

    • Chelle says:

Thanks! I just swiped one of those tear pads today at my PNS. :)

      • Rhonda says:

        You took the whole pad?

        • Theresa K. says:

LOL! I was wondering that, too. Probably not. I hope.

          • Chelle says:

Omigosh NO! Ha ha. I just meant I grabbed a coupon lol. Ya know after I typed that I paused and looked at it, but decided to leave it. Oh, I’m good for a laugh. :P Today I went back and took a couple more. I couldn’t use the coupons today for the Sandies as I was buying the Cheez-its and it’s the same coupon. So I had to grab a couple more April books. :) I did awesome at Wags today. I got the 2 Stouffers Easy Express meals (FB coupons), 2 Cheez-its (thx Gina!) and an easter filler ($0.24). I used a Kotex RR and my total was $1.75. The gal was impressed. And yes, the Kotex rang up for $3.49.

  22. Deb says:

I also got the email from Chinet and the subsequent message that I had printed the number allowed. Had not printed any – not sure why this happens.

  23. Nicole says:

I’m not seeing the $1.00 coupon for the Active-Flex toothbrush. Both the $1 and .75 lead to the same site (manufacturer’s), but only the .75 is available?

  24. Kay says:

I can’t locate the Kashi coupon. Can anyone help? Thank you.

  25. Paulette says:

I am also having issues with the Kellog and Kashi coupons. I registered for both sites but the coupons are eluding me!

  26. Amy says:

My Walgreens did NOT have the TGI Fridays Potato Skins on sale for $1.39. They were $1.99. Anybody know where to get them for $1.39?

    • Sarah Beth says:

They were $1.99 at my store too – but $0.50 for a treat is good for me. I may also save these for summer get-togethers/BBQs.

  27. Becky says:

I just read on another blog, that stores that have the Schick Hydro shave gel, that the RR is rolling. I can’t confirm this, but someone may want to try. I think i’ll go tomorrow!

  28. sofi says:

newbie here with a question : can you use 2 coupons with a bogo , example: the chinet plates or the vanity napkins

    • Theresa K. says:

No, since you already getting one for free (albeit at Wags prices). For each BOGO, you can use one coupon. The Vanity napkins are really plush and a good value at 99 cents a package, with the BOGO and one coupon.

      • sofi says:

Theresa k , thank you for you response i feel stupid asking all this questions : you bought 2 napkins at $2.99 each and use 2 coupons of $1.00 each and got 2 free that’s how you get the .99 cents each

        • Theresa K. says:

          Sofi,

No apologies at PYD! We help each other all the time. I bought two packages of Vanity Fair napkins. They were on sale for buy one at $2.99 and get one free. The register will automatically give you the second package free. I used one coupon for $1.00 off of one package of Vanity Fair napkins (05/10 issue Martha Stewart Living magazine, pg. 81). The coupon is applied to the first package, since the second package is already free. So, I got two packages for $1.99. Only need one coupon for that deal! Hope this helps.

          • Theresa K. says:

P.S. My deal is slightly different from the one listed above. I am not aware that you can use two coupons on bogo deals. If anyone has done that, let us know.

          • Angela says:

The rule of thumb for coupons is 1 manufacturer coupon per item. So if a store has it’s own sale, in this case BOGO free on the chinet paper plates, you can use 2 $1 off manufacturer coupons along with the stores BOGO sale. I use 2 manufacturer coupons in conjuction to store BOGO sales a lot and have never had a problem.

          • sofi says:

            thanks, it sure does !!

  29. Jenny says:

The Walgreens I went to did not have the NoNonese Nylons on sale for 2/$1, they don’t carry the TGI Friday’s at all.

  30. Chelle says:

Anyone use the Stouffer’s Facebook Q? It says “Save $2.50/1 Family Size Entree,” but shows a picture of Easy Express Lasagna on it. It would be a good deal if I could use 2 of these. $3 for 2 bags. Plus $1 RR. I might try this in the morning and get back to you.

    • Laura Wales says:

Chelle – I tried this a few days ago at Walgreens and it worked just fine. The entrees that they’re selling with that deal are the Easy Express kind (at least they were at my Walgreens).

      • Chelle says:

Thanks! I am going to go there in a little while. I don’t usually buy bagged meals, but for something quick when the hubby is home and the cook (me :] ) is out.

  31. Lisa says:

Just got back from Wags and have had such a great experience! Went to the cosmetics counter and the gal was SO helpful and was happy to do multiple transactions so that has more transactions at cosmetics. Will definitely go and see her again :)

  32. mollie says:

Hi guys, I never paid attention to Walgreens before, because I thought there prices were too high and the discounts too random to figure out. I used to just go thru the drive through for my prescriptions – not any more! Thanks for all the good work on this.

For Ban couopons: http://www.feelbanfresh.com/coupon.aspx?src=fb&enl_campaign=ban_facebook&enl_medium=affiliate&enl_source=wallpost20100414 I got two.

  33. Lisa O says:

I know it’s the last day of the sale, but just in case–Blue Diamond coupons for $1 off 2 is in the 1/17/10 SS. With the BOGO, it’s a great deal!

  34. Angela says:

The TGI Friday’s chips have a $5/$15 for the restuarant!!

    • Sarah Beth says:

I saw this too!! When I went only 2 left on the shelf had this note on the front about the $5 coupon inside so those were the two I bought.

  35. rochelle says:

I got a couple of good deals today. They had always thin flexi-style 100 count pads on clearance for 1.74 and I had a BOGO coupon for another package (60 count) for free. So I paid 1.74 and got a package of pads for free (normally 3.99). The manager rang it up and couldn’t believe the deal since the coupon was specifically for the 60 count box free. He wouldn’t let me use any other coupons with this deal.

I had to go to another Wags to get my pecan sandies (1st store was out). At this location I found the Mach 3 razors (3 packs) for buy one get one 50% off. I had a BOGO coupon and another for $2 off. so I paid 2.99 for the two packages. This store allowed another coupon with the BOGO one.

Neither store had any ban deodorant left. Cashier said some lady bought it all up this morning. Nice. Someone doesn’t believe in sharing.
