Request a free sample of Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain Rice pouch, either Chicken Medley or Roasted Garlic flavor (the link seems to work best in Firefox). I requested mine, but we are a old-fashioned brown rice family even though my family likes these flavored, ready-to-go rice product, I feel better serving the old fashioned stuff. (Thanks Saving with Amy)
Laura here: If you copy and paste this link into your navigation bar, it should work: https://www.smartsourcesamples.com/cgi-bin/samples.cgi?sid=14
In fact, I have 4 cups of brown rice cooking on the stove while I type this. I’ll let them cool and then freeze in side dish-sized portions to use on a night when we don’t have much time. I’ll reheat them in the microwave by adding a tabelspoon of water to a bowl, covering it and heating it through. Sometimes I use the defrost setting for a few minutes first, to loosen the rice up and get it out of the bag in a way that lets me reuse the ziploc.
Your turn: What’s your favorite way to serve rice?

I get an error message when I try to click the link.
The link didn’t work. :(
I got an error when I clicked on the link as well.
I read on one of the other blogs –
Got it. The readers will need to copy and paste this into their browser:

It will reformat itself and get you to the free request.
The Uncle Bens isn’t allowing linkable clicking from people’s blogs.
That worked for me!
Thanks Julie; big help ;)
Speaking of brown rice… does anyone know where it can be purchased in large bags, like the 25 and 50lb bags of white rice I can get at the asian grocer?
We get large bags of brown rice at Costco.
Golden Lion supermarket
8600 Edinburgh Centre Drive North
Minneapolis, MN 55443-3736
It is brooklyn park/center. It is the best asian store I have found in the north metro.
Thanks Julia that worked for me. I love using this stuff when we go camping and are out on the trails hiking late in the evening it makes for a quick healthier meal.
Thank you! Got my sample. I love rice but no one in family did for the longest time. These Uncle Ben’s have gotten my boys to finally eat rice and not complain!
Aga,
Hi. Sam’s Club or Costco might have the 25 or 50 lb. bags of rice.
oh good idea, I don’t tend to think of those stores for ‘health’ food- I’ll have to check!
I am doing something wrong; I couldn’t get the link to work. : (
I got the following error: “ERROR_NAME: UNEXPECTED ERROR
ERROR_MSG: http://www.pocketyourdollars.com/2010/04/free-sample-uncle-bens-whole-grain-rice-pouch/ (www.pocketyourdollars.com) is not allowed access to this program.”
Bummer – I’ll have to check back and hopefully someone will post the correct link.
A reader on the Facebook page posted this link and it worked for me on IE:
https://www.smartsourcesamples.com/cgi-bin/samples.cgi?sid=14
There’s talk on the FB comments that the link above in the article doesn’t work on IE, only Firefox. HTH!
Hi all – I use Firefox, which is why it worked for me. I have to run out the door right now (going to do a last minute TV segment this afternoon) so I can’t track down a working IE link. If someone finds one, please post it and share. I’ll update the post when I’m back later this afternoon.
Hey guys – I updated the post with the link typed out. Just copy and paste the link into your navigation bar (don’t click through the post) and it should work just fine.
I also got an error message.
Thanks Julia! Your non-link worked!
Thanks!! I got it to work!
I have tried to copy and paste and tried to click on links and went to other sites to try their links with no luck to get this free sample? I have IE and Windows Vista? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I pasted the link : https://www.smartsourcesamples.com/cgi-bin/samples.cgi?sid=14 and had no problem requesting it.
I just copied and pasted Kate’s link above and it worked. (You can’t click on it even though it highlights like you can….it won’t work that way.) Thanks-we love rice!
I got an error messege as well.
