In fact, I have 4 cups of brown rice cooking on the stove while I type this. I’ll let them cool and then freeze in side dish-sized portions to use on a night when we don’t have much time. I’ll reheat them in the microwave by adding a tabelspoon of water to a bowl, covering it and heating it through. Sometimes I use the defrost setting for a few minutes first, to loosen the rice up and get it out of the bag in a way that lets me reuse the ziploc.

Speaking of brown rice… does anyone know where it can be purchased in large bags, like the 25 and 50lb bags of white rice I can get at the asian grocer?
