CVS Shopping List 4/11 – 4/17/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

CVS coupon matchups help you know exactly which coupons to use alongside the sale prices at CVS to score some free products and other great deals. This week you can get free Dove hair care and Dial body wash, plus other deals on Coke products, Soy Joy bars, and more.

If you’re new to CVS, your first step is to learn the ins and outs of the Extra Care program and learn how to read this shopping list. If you are just getting started and have questions, please leave them in the comments so we can all help you learn how to spend less.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas, or we read about other deals across the blogosphere, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

  1. jo says:

Colgate pro clinical coupon in SS 04/11 insert so make sit 49 cents after ECB

  2. Alison says:

Carrie – I really like how you always organize your CVS lists from cheapest to most expensive. I like to see what is free first.

    • Laura Wales says:

Alison – That is so cool that you noticed that! I didn’t even realize that until Carrie pointed it out to me one time. :)

      • Alison says:

I love order, organization, lists, etc… and I bet that’s what attracts a lot of people to Carrie’s site – it’s less cluttered and more orderly than other sites. I can quickly find what I want and not have to weed through a lot of unwanted stuff.

        • Lisa O says:

I totally agree! And I’m sure it takes a little more time to organize it that way, so thanks Carrie & Laura!

  3. Mark says:

Good deal on Clear Care contact solution at CVS this week. $14.99 for two 12 oz bottles, less $3.00 ECB. A good opportunity to use the $3.00 Clear Care coupon from one of the Sunday inserts a few weeks ago for a total of $6.00 off.

  4. Karla says:

Good luck using the CVS coupon for toilet paper. At my CVS they reduced the coupon amount down to 50 cents since the paper was only 50 center per roll. The coupon doesn’t state that it is good off any “one” but it does say any cvs brand product. I guess it’s open to interpretation. I will try another CVS tomorrow.

    • Alison says:

I just did this deal today, but I bought 2 rolls of TP so the total was $1 but then the coupon was for $1 off so I got 2 free. I didn’t try it with just 1 roll. I think it is correct for them to adjust the price down in this instance if you are just buying 1. It’s kind of like using a $1 off coupon for an item that is 97 cents. They are actually supposed to adjust it down to the price paid, I believe, but you’re right in that many times it varies from cashier to cashier.

  5. Erin says:

I got a good deal with the Procter & Gamble spend $25, get $10 ECB (on the front page of today’s ad). I just got my Puffs Plus Lotion sample in the mail a few days ago (from Vocal Point, I believe) with one $1/1 and five $0.50/1 Puffs Plus Lotion coupons, plus I had two $0.25/3 Puffs coupon from previous coupon inserts. I bought 16 Puffs Plus Lotion (the small boxes) for $0.99/each and 1 Charmin Ultra Strong 16 Big Rolls toilet paper at $9.99 with a $0.25/1 coupon I got from a previous coupon insert. My whole “package” was $11.58 after coupons & $10 ECB. Not bad!

  6. MB says:

Buy 1 Dove Shampoo or Conditioner for $4.49, Earn $4.49 Extra Care Bucks (Limit 1)
**Today I found that some of the Dove shampoo bottles had a $1.50 coupon “peelie” on them – which was a GREAT find since I had already used my Dove coupons from the 3/28 RP a week ago. Just thought I’d pass on the info! Happy CVS shopping!

  7. Lisa S says:

FYI there is a $1.00 off coupon for multipacks of trident in 4/11 smart source

  8. Candice says:

There are also individual rolls of CVS brand paper towels for $1.29, making them $.29 after the $1.00 off paper products coupon. I had 2 coupons and picked up 2 rolls with no problem tonight at the Farmington CVS.

  9. caarin says:

I have 2 of the $1/1 CVS brand paper coupons. I bought only 2 rolls. I didn’t realize at the time they were on sale. They didn’t even price adjust it, so it was a money maker. I didn’t even realize it until after I got home.

  10. Sue says:

I also got a $1/1 coupon from the coupon spitter-outer for cvs skin care and found a trial size hand cream for $.99, making it free – a nice little one to have in your purse.

  11. Sue says:

Does anyone know if you can do all of the Soy Joy bar ECB deals (5) in one transaction, or do you need to split them up like you had to when they had the boxes of them free with ECB’s this winter?

  12. Stephanie says:

just gotta say that I LOVE that you call it the coupon “spitter-outer.” I’m completely serious! Makes me smile :)

  13. Kristin says:

Does anybody know of a CVS in the north metro that is good about taking expired ECB’s? I had some expire last week and hate to see them go to waste! Thanks!

    • Maggie says:

Yes, CVS does except expired ECB’s and CVS coupons. (At least the coupons you get via email.)

    • Laura Wales says:

Kristin – I think Maple Grove takes expired ECBs. I’ve never tried it myself, but others have.

      • Carrie Rocha says:

I have tried it and they do take expired ones up to a month (or more) past their expiration date. They also take manufacturer-issued coupons that are recently expired. They mail in their coupons on Tuesdays so if you shop on a Saturday, say, and the coupon expired on Friday – they’ll take it. But, if the coupon expired on the Monday before they won’t take it (since they would have already mailed in the previous week’s coupons on Tuesday). Hope that makes sense.

    • Teresa says:

Just tried that at the Grand Ave store (my ECB expired on the 8th and it was the 13th). No luck.

  14. Ophelia says:

So am I the only person who could not find this coupon spitter thing? Is it in the store or are these online coupons?

    • Lisa says:

I had a hard time finding it myself. I didn’t find it until I saw someone else standing there. The CVS in Apple Valley used to hve a blue one that was hung on a pole back by the pharmacy and above it it said something like “Price Checker”. They just replaced it with a red one now. The 2 CVS’s I have been in, you walk into the store and walk straight back heading to the pharmacy. You shouldn’t have to stray off the main path (by the mags) Hope this helps.

  15. Jaime says:

Does anyone have any good ideas for how to use the $4 off $20 beauty purchase coupon I got in my e-mail from CVS?

  16. Barb says:

FYI…The CVS near me (Apple Valley/Rosemount) would not accept the $1.50 coupon for the Dove conditioner to go along with the $4.49 Extra Care Bucks. :(

    • Cath says:

WHAAAAA? Did they give a reason?! This seems crazy to me. I would go in and talk to the manager, or if it was the manager, contact corporate.

  17. Lisa ** says:

Last week I stunk at trying out CVS. I was pretty sure that this was going to go the same way as walgreens and I just put too much time into that place so don’t look anymore. Today however I found the Dove conditioner – 1 Q, 6 puffs kleenex boxes – 6Q, 12 soy joy bars 4Q and let my daughter by some crazy flower barretts for a ridiculous price of 3.99 (she wanted to use her money so I let it slide) used an 8.99 ECB from last week and a save $4 on $20 from the Q spitter outter and managed to only spend 2.47 OOP. I also got the ECB back on the Dove and Soy joy = 10.49.

That makes me feel way better!

  18. Krista says:

Does anyone know if when it says limit 1, you could get one per day, or 1 per store? For example, could I buy 1 one day, then go back three days later and buy another 1, or does your CVS card keep track of this?

    • Laura Wales says:

Krista – It’s limit one per ExtraCare card. If you look on your receipt, you’ll see that CVS keeps track of how many you’ve purchased with that specific card and puts “Offer Limit Reached” when you’ve fulfilled a particular offer.

  19. Krista says:

    thanks Laura!

  20. Christina says:

At my CVS (Woodbury at Country Road 19/Valley Creek), the Extra Care Bucks for the Dial Nutriskin Body Wash was $2.00, not $4.50
