Need extra coupon inserts?? I came across a great idea last wknd when I was out of town for work. The hotel I was staying at had a huge stack of Sunday papers–all with ads and coupons. Well, most of the ads and coupons were left behind because the travelers didn’t care about them–but I picked up the extra inserts and came home (to Mpls from Seattle) with extra coupon inserts. You can check with your local hotels to see if they will scoop up the coupons, save the unused papers for you and/or let you come in on Sunday and scrounge for yourself. HTH :)

    • Jennifer M. says:

I was at Wisconsin Dells this weekend and did the same thing. I was really excited when I went to the lobby and found their Sunday paper with inserts intact! Everone in our group got a paper and gave me their coupons. So this week I got 3 from WI and 3 from MN and marked them separately so when I am looking through them I am not wondering why I can’t find a coupon Carrie is referring to in her lists.

    • Anne says:

Looking for extra Aquify $3 off coupons in this week’s Smart Source if you have any to spare, willing to trade.

  2. Mary says:

What’s great about the fact that you got the coupons from another area is there were probably a large number of coupons that were different from the ones here. But for brands that are still carried around here.
My mom lives out of state and lets me take her coupons with me. I can get some fantastic manf. coupons and usually can double up with local store coupons because they don’t think there are manf. coupons out there at the time.

  3. Sidney says:

Does anybody have a recommendation for someone (affordable) who does taxes. My husband and I have ALWAYS done our own taxes, but there were just too many unusual things that happened this year that we’re not exactly sure how to handle on the tax forms so we’ve decided that it would probably be best to have someone do them for us. Have any of you had a good experience with someone that you’d be willing to recommend?

    • Julie says:

We’ve been very happy with Ark off of Maryland and Rice St Area. We used to go to H & R block because we didn’t know any better and we have our own business. H & R Block charged us $700 to get them done and Ark charged us only $130. Huge savings:) And we’ve always gotten a big refund:)

    • Christine says:

I was in the same situation this year. I used Tammy Fischer with Fischer Accounting in Oakdale. She suggested by another follower of PYD a few weeks ago. She had my complicated taxes done in 2 days, and it was less than if I filed myself using HR Block.

    • Lynn says:

Have you tried TaxAct.com? They ask all sorts of questions regarding your years. For example: buy or sell a home? have a new baby? start a new business? etc. I have used it the past few years. Might be worth a shot to look at it.

      • Haila says:

We like Tax Act as well. They walk you through all the steps, very understandable. And even if you buy their “deluxe” version, it’s only $17 for both state and federal tax returns. (Might even be free if your income is low enough.) I’ve used it for about 5 years now – and it’s great b/c it “remembers” everything you entered the previous year so no need to start from scratch.

    • Nikki says:

We have a great little lady in Scandia (by forest lake) she is all certified and really cheap. Nan Smith Tax Serice.

    • Sam says:

I actually did mine on HR Block website. We had our 3rd child this past year and a sole proprietorship business. I just followed all of the prompts and read the questions thoroughly. It was $40 or $50.

I also used Turbotax webstie to do taxes for our S-Corp Taxes. Just followed all that it said and had no problem.

The cool thing about the sites for personal use is that you can go through the entire process and if you are worried it’s not right, you don’t have to pay.

    • Diana says:

I have a person who has been doing my taxes for 20+ years. His name is Jim Bianco and his phone is 763-593-2727. He is an attorney (don’t hold that against him), is really nice, doesn’t charge an arm and a leg, and is really smart. I highly recommend him

  4. tabby says:

Anyone know deals with flowers. I need to send some to another state and trying to find somehting nice without paying tons! I need something nice it’s for my grandmother that past away. Thanks for your help.

    • Mags says:

      Tabby,

I often use google to find a florist that’s close. I call and explain the situation and my budget. I have had really great luck with small, independent florists who are willing to help. When I’ve checked with recipients about quality, they always tell me they received lovely flowers. I try to stay away from the FTD and teleflora-type things because then you’re locked into a particular arrangement. I usually ask them to put together something tasteful for X dollars. Good luck!

      Mags

      • Jessica says:

I agree with Mags. Use Google or Yahoo’s local search to find a florist that is close. Most small florists also know the policies of the area funeral homes (if that’s where the flowers are going) and can stay within a budget for you. I even do this when I want to send flowers for birthdays, etc. Local grocery stores with floral departments may also offer delivery services and better prices for good-quality arrangements. Sorry to hear about your grandmother :(

        Jessica

    • Haila says:

I always use Pro Flowers. It’s an internet-direct service, doesn’t go through local florists. Their prices are very reasonable (and cheaper than a lot of places), and there are constantly sales and specials. My favorite thing is that the don’t substitute stuff – what you see is what you get. Plus, you can track your order online, and know exactly when it is delivered. The only down side is it is shipped in a box, so the flowers need to be arranged when they get to their destination.

  5. Susan says:

My son-in-law does taxes and I think charges around $250 or so for the return. He is does this in addition to his regular day job; he is an accountant graduate as well…always a great thing! Contact me by by email of shsanders@gmail.com if you are interested and I can give you more details. Good luck!

  6. Mary says:

Tabby, I always use the internet to find a local florist in that area. Sometimes can find ratings and reviews online also. Then I just call them and place the order. Usually cheaper than FTD.

  7. Nancy says:

Heading to Winona this weekend~does anyone know of a good site for hotel savings?

    • Cath says:

I’ve had great luck getting excellent deals for hotels in Duluth, Fergus Falls, etc. on Priceline. Using the Name Your Own Price deal can be risky, because you can’t choose your hotel, but you can choose your quality level. I’ve stayed at Sheraton in Duluth for as little as $30/night. Good luck!

    • Kari says:

If you have AAA you can get a great discount. We stayed at a nice hotel in Minneapolis this weekend. The AAA rate was $12 less per night than the Expedia & Priceline rates!

    • Mary says:

“Heading to Winona this weekend~does anyone know of a good site for hotel savings?”

Nancy, I don’t know what sites to look for, but I can tell you which hotels are the good ones.
If you are looking for the nicest hotels in Winona, stay at the Holiday Inn Express or The Plaza Hotel and Suites. Both very nice and along 61 right by Sugar Loaf. I’ve stayed at both.

Midrange hotels – AmericInn (right by the river, very nice views and very clean), Express Suites Riverport Inn, Quality Inn. I’ve stayed at all of these and they are in order of my choices.

Lower priced – Days Inn (near St. Mary’s), Sugar Loaf Motel (former Super 8). Also stayed at both of these. Probably would pick the Sugar Loaf.

All of the others are the ones that open to the parking lot, single level.

      Hope this helps you!

  8. tabby says:

Thanks Mary, I hate it when I don’t know really what I’m getting. You think you are paying a huge price so it will be something nice, then you find out it’s crappy. Not a message you want to send to somone’s last time with the family.

  9. Therese says:

    Tabby,

What I usually do for memorial flowers is call up the Funeral Home and ask them who’s supplying the flowers for the funeral or a name of the local florist. Using a local florist is somtimes a huge cost saver (save on delivery and they will know what types of flowers others have used)

  10. Barista says:

Free pastry day this Tuesday at Starbucks!

  11. Mimi says:

    Tabby,

I have used 1-800-flowers web site in the past and have always been pleased. I also use teleflora. I have a daughter and brother out of state and have had good luck with both. Otherwise your local florist would also know best

  12. Melissa says:

I haven’t seen too many deals on baggies, freezer bags or storage bags mentioned on the site. We’ve routinely purchased them in bulk at Sam’s in the past. Has anyone else out here priced them and what have you found to be the most economic? We’re not set on brand, so if you have suggestions on generics, we’re open to that, too.

I’ve been using this site since January and LOOOVE it! Just had to slide that in!

    • Jennifer M. says:

Melissa ~ the last couple of times I have gotten storage bags has been when Walgreen’s has had them on sale. In the past I have always bought in bulk from Sam’s, too, but when they made Carrie’s shopping list I figured they were a good price and stored up. I think that was in January, so maybe in the cycle they will be on sale again soon. HTH.

    • cindy says:

There was a recent SC Johnson rebate, which included ziploc bags. I found coupons and bags on clearance at Target, so stocked up for free (after rebate). I do try not to use too many bags/re-use when I can, so hopefully won’t go through them too quickly. Hope this helps!

    • Haila says:

Hefty zipper bags (not remembering the exact name?) often have good coupons – 50 cents off, and then the smaller containers go on sale for about $1 at some stores like Target. I stocked up a while back on these. I’ve also noted that brand-name sales often beat store brand prices.

      • Kari says:

I’ve also noticed that you get what you pay for. I haven’t had the best luck with generic zip-locs.
You may also find a decent deal at Rainbow with double coupons

        • Kari says:

Another great time to stock up on them is when they clearance holiday printed ones. After holidays TArget has great clearance & I get the holiday printed items like napkins, paper towels, ziplocs for cheap – plus you can still use coupons on them.

          • Skirnir Hamilton says:

Aldi’s has good ziplock style bags. I buy them most often, unless I find them cheaper. I think the Walgreens sale was cheaper earlier, BOGO sale and coupons to boot at the time.

  13. jo says:

I need the blower motor replaced in my car. Any suggestions on inexpensive/reliable car repair shop in southwest metro area?

    • Nate says:

I’ve used Youngsted’s a few times and have been very pleased. I didn’t get the feeling afterward that I was getting ripped off like I have felt at a few other places. They typically have coupons on their website: http://www.youngstedts.com/

    • Tonya says:

I second Youngsted’s. When we lived in Chaska we would always take our car there. They are very friendly and do excellent work. They also don’t push extra services on you but will let you know if they see something that may need work is the future.

    • Sidney says:

There’s a place on Old Shakopee in Bloomington called Z Tech. It’s a great, family run garage. When I bought my current car I got a great deal on it because I bought from a friend who was moving internationally and she had been told by the dealer (had always taken it there for maintenance/repairs) that there was a major repair that needed to be done. I took it to Z Tech, explained what the dealer had said needed fixed, and after doing all sorts of tests they couldn’t find anything that needed repaired. They ended up calling the dealer, who actually admitted that the repair they said “must be done” didn’t actually need to be done! Z Tech could have just done the nearly $2000 repair, but instead was truthful with me. Even though it isn’t as close to my house/work as other places, I still go there every time I need something done on my car! I would highly recommend them!

    • Lisa says:

Bob’s auto in Savage is amazing if it is not too far.

    • Erin Rose says:

Even though we live in White Bear, we bring our cars down to Elsen Brothers off of 494 and Portland in Richfield. My husband has been going there for 15+ years.

  14. Sarah says:

Auto King in Mankato is reopening and the owner is great! I have taken my work to him at another shop he manages.

  15. Andrea says:

Anyone know of any good deals on diapers this week?

    • Haila says:

There’s a good one coming up next week at CVS, if you can wait a few more days…

    • amanda says:

At the Cub foods in Buffalo, the large boxes of Cub brand diapers was on sale for 13.99. If you use the $4 off coupon from a couple weeks ago, the large box would be 9.99!

    • Kelly says:

Babies “R” Us and Toys “R” Us stores are offering a $20 dollar gift card with the purchase of two value boxes of Pampers w/ new Dry Max on Saturday only. In addition, I know Babies “R” Us is currently giving away samples of the Dry Max cruisers in size 3-5 and the packages contain a $3 BRU/TRU coupon good for the Dry Max Cruisers. I would think that you could use this in addition to any manufacturer’s coupons out there (like the one in the 3/14 paper). This could be a really good deal, especially if you are brand-loyal to Pampers.

    • Sarah says:

My Walgreens had the “jumbo” pack of their brand on clearance for $2.44 this week. I think the count was 36 or 42 or something like that. Sizes ranged but I was able to pick up a pack for my daughter. I haven’t tried them yet but figure for a backup or for daycare they’ll work.

  16. Aga says:

Has anyone seen any great deals lately on countertop microwaves? Not looking for anything fancy, just need to replace ours because it started smoking!

  17. Mike says:

Does anyone have resources for Econofoods Deals? I work in Red Wing and there is an Econo there

  18. Nancy says:

WOOHOO!!! Totally forgot about the Priceline place for hotels…. thanks so much guys!!

  19. Tami W says:

I don’t know of a blogger for Econofoods, but I do know that the Farmington Econofoods doubles all coupons that are 50cents or less, every day with no limits, or minimums to buy.

    • kierstien says:

oh i didnt know this! i live in lakeville what are econo food prices like? compared to rainbow/cub? thanks

    • tami says:

I just have to say hello because I too am Tami W. too funny. Bet you don’t have two sisters Sami and Cami?!?!

  20. Haila says:

Now that compostable bags (either paper or biodegradable plastic-type film) are mandatory for yard waste, does anyone know where these are a decent deal? I’ve had a hard time finding them in the past, and when I do they tend to be very expensive.

    • Curt says:

Lowes usually has a 5-pack of paper bags for about $2.25. Biodegradeable “plastic” bags are available there too (unsure of price).

  21. Susan says:

I posted an earlier reply about tax preparations. I misquoted what my son-in-law may charge. It all depends on your particular needs, etc. Contact me by email if you are interested: shsanders@gmail.com
    Good luck!

  22. Ruth says:

Has anyone used the Groupon deals? I am somewhat reluctant to use my credit card with all the identity theft that is so rampant today. Also, does anyone have suggestions on where to get the best price on mattresses? I surely enjoy this geat exchange of ideas. Re: Tax prep–there is a group called Accountability in the twin cities that does taxes for free. They are at different locations which you can find on the internet by looking up Accountability-Minnesota, or look them up under free tax help Minnesota. (My daughter used them several years ago, and they did a great job with a complicated return–oodles of stock buys and sells.)

    • Kristin says:

I’ve used Groupon a few times, Ruth. It’s worked perfectly and there are no hidden fees like most “daily deals” offered on other websites. The price stated is the price you pay. I look forward to see what the deal is each day! Would definitely recommend.

    • Andrea says:

I love Groupon! I’ve bought 10 different deals since they started. There is no handling fee, the value is often times better than 50% off, certificates are printed from your home printer and can usually be used within 24 hours of being purchased. You can also earn $10 towards another purchase if someone you tell about Groupon purchases a certificate (this is done by sending an email link to friends).

  23. Ruth says:

Re: auto repair. There is a small garage on 37th Street and Nicollet where they are very honest. My daughter has been going there for several years and is very happy with them. I went there for a problem, and they told me that it should be fixed under Toyota warranty (even though I had 70,000 miles on the odometer). The dealership insisted I pay a portion of the repair which I did, but long story short–the 37th Street Garage could have just fixed the problem and not told me that Toyota should be covering it.

  24. Jessica says:

I just read my real simple magazine yesterday – and there was a tear away coupon in there for a $5 Target gift card with purchase of 5 SC Johnson products? Wondering if I could double-that up with the $5 SC Johnson rebate?

Similarly Home Depot is running a good deal on Windex this week – I thought I heard either 1.98 or 2.98 for a jar + a free 64 oz refill – I know there have been a lot of coupons for Windex lately too… then there’s the rebate?

  25. Diane says:

Anyone have any suggestions for a good deal on leather furniture? We are hoping to replace our very old family room furniture with a sofa and chair and have visited the usual places(Slumberland, Hom, etc.) but prices are high and we know there is a huge markup on furniture. Thanks!

    • steve says:

Wait for a 26-29 percent off sale at Hom. They run this every 2 months. I figure out what we want when it is not on sale. I go in and do the sale when they have their larger sales.

    • Nikki says:

I just got a card in the mail for the furniture outlets at north branch tanger outlet…we have had really good luck there and one of them is going out of business so you may get a good deal. My mom got a huge sectional there and the people were great!

      • Stacy says:

I was just at the Furniture Outlet in North Branch and purchased almost all their silk trees for our church Easter drama. (That was a truckload!)
Everything is now 70% off plus they recently stickered some items to be $50, $100, $150, & $200 in addition off their prices. I would say it is definitely worth checking out. They are supposed to be open until a week or two after Easter but things are strating to get a little picked over.
If you go there the gentleman who helped us was *so* helpful & nice. His name is Don. You could tell him that Stacy who bought all the trees mentioned him. (He is not a friend and I don’t get anything form this. Just a great guy & I would like to see him get the sales credit as he will soon be out of a job…)

    • Maureen says:

Have you tried Dock 86 for your furniture? I was there a couple of weeks ago they have a good selection. I did not inspect for quality or prices because we were just looking.

    • Melissa says:

Check Macy’s home store. You might be surprised by their prices. My SIL bought a set several years back and I think it was only about $1200 for 3 or 4 pieces. If you visit the Edina Macy’s, ask for Greg and just ask what his sister purchased and if they still carry it. :)

    • Cath says:

There are sometimes incredible deals on leather sofas and chairs at the Room & Board Outlet in Golden Valley – open only on Saturdays, and every week there is different stuff, but sofas that normally go for $2K will be there for $800. Most of their stuff is clean lines/simple styles, but if you like that I’d recommend going!

  26. terri says:

TABBY> My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandmother.

  27. terri says:

MIKE> EconoFoods is owned by NASH FINCH CO You should be able to go on their web site or Grocery Store Weekly Circulars, or Grocery Coupon Guide to find their weekly ads, promos and coupons. If I remember correctly, their private label coupons can be printed from Coupons.com Hope this can get you started in the right dirrection

  28. terri says:

MIKE> For some reason i just got sencored and don’t know why. What was omitted from above is that Nash Finch also owns Town and Country stores which you have. They offer coupons under their private labels, OF(our family) and VC(value choice. You can access their coupons from coupons.com Lets see if this post makes it thru.

    • Laura Wales says:

Terri – I’m not sure what happened. I’m able to see all of the comments and it doesn’t look like anything got automatically rejected or censored. Sorry for the confusion!

  29. Angela says:

Wanted to share with everyone I got my rebate check this week from Coors Light for buying pepsi products. Back when the deal was posted it was questionable if we’d actually get the rebate.

    • Jennifer M. says:

Got mine, too! I almost threw it away with some junk mail as it is a small postcard size check, so watch closely if you are waiting for one.

      • Valerie Y says:

Ditto, I just got mine about 3 days ago and like you say, it’s a small postcard that could be easily missed or thrown away as “junk mail” by accident.

        • Jean says:

I got mine as well and my husband was really curious why I got a rebate from Coors when we don’t drink . . . I was able to have a little fun with him.

          • Jean says:

I guess I should say we don’t drink alcohol – we certainly drink our share of Pepsi!

  30. jeanie says:

Wondering if anyone has been to Ben and Jerry’s free cone day? Are there long waits? I posted this question under that heading, but no response. Will be visiting my daughter in NY next week and she has a B&J nearby. I don’t have one near me here in MN so it might be fun to stop by. However, we will have a 3 year old with us, so a long wait wouldn’t be good!

    • Shelly says:

Jeanie – I suspect it’s just one of those “luck” things. We live near the Calhoun B & J’s, and we’ve gone when there have lines out the door and not worth the wait. But a couple of years ago, I took my son right after school (late afternoon) and hardly had any wait. I guess try to pick sort of off-peak times avoiding lunchtimes, evening and right when people get off work. They are prepared for big crowds, so they are usually well staffed and serving very quickly! Have fun with your daughter!

    • sheepy says:

I’ve been there every year for the past 4 years. Even when there was a line out the door, it moves really fast since you can only choose from the flavors they have for that store, usually about 12 or so. Be ready to tell them cup or cone, and the flavor you want. They do also staff as much as they can. Also, everyone in the line is always happy, so it is a fun group to be in.

    • Nicole says:

We go to Ben & Jerry’s free cone day every year. The lines usually look pretty long where we go at Southdale, but they move very fast. Nobody is paying for anything and they only offer a few kinds. They also usually have each person working scoop one flavor so ultimately they could be serving many customers at once.

  31. terri says:

Laura Wales: I know what i typed and where i typed it into the paragraph and I wouldn’t have had to repost an addition if my original had gone through. Something crazy happened, i don’t know how,and i really don’t care, i was joking about the censoring comment. I probably should have put a smily face next to my sick sense of humor. As long as you see all the posts…would you mind correcting my spelling before they go through? :) :) :)

  32. SC says:

Dianne and for others looking to buy furniture, I would check out Dock 86 in Little Canada. It is owned by Hom furniture and you can get leather furniture for 30 to 60% off retail. You can also try Becker Furniture outlet stores in Burnsville and Blaine. They also have great prices furniture.

  33. tabby says:

Thanks Terry for your comment, she is much better off then when she was here. Now she has a better life than she has had the last two years.

  34. tabby says:

Sorry Terri, sp on your name

  35. Valerie Y says:

I’m thinking about fencing for our yard. Anyone have any company they can recommend? I’ve been checking on Angie’s list, but I’d love to hear from some PYD-ers too. We want to get wood privacy fence.

  36. Donna Fuller says:

Jo, if you’re near Roseville, we’ve been taking our cars to Roseville Auto and Marine for years. They have never tried to get us to fix anything that we didn’t think was necessary. http://www.rosevilleautoandmarineinc.com for the location.

  37. Dawn M says:

Okay, I will admit I am still on dial up. Every now and then I can pick up unsecured wireless. I want a wireless provider that doesn’t cost a lot. I have tried Quest and without a phone line the price is more then advertised and have not heard good things on comcast? Anyone know of good prices. Currently pay for aol and home line and some coupons won’t print bar codes (smart source,…) so then stores won’t take them. Ideas or what should I expect to pay for wireless service?

  38. Shelly says:

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else on P.Y.D., just wanted to mention that the Byerlys webdeal right now is $1.99 for a 12 roll pack of Cottonelle Bath Tissue. (You must sign up to receive these from their website). You do have to spend $10, but they have their usual great deals this weekend. This time, starting today, it’s $1.79 for a 1 lb. of Driscoll’s strawberries and $1.79 for Kemps Ice Cream (1.5 quarts). You are allowed to purchase 4 of each at that price. For those that like sweetened yogurt, their Yoplaits are 3/99 cents. So, with a coupon, that would be a good deal I think.

  39. Laura Wales says:

Hey ya’ll – Go to coupons.com to print a Huggies $3/1 coupon (I love it when these come around!). Remember that you can print this coupon twice. These go fast, so hurry if you want one!

  40. Becky says:

Andrea- Carrie just posted on Facebook that there is a $3 off Huggies coupon on coupons.com. She also said that she was off to teach a class so she wouldn’t have time to put it on here til later, and that someone should mention it on the open mic! So I hope this helps. Someone else posted that it didn’t work in a certain zip code, but it showed up on mine so you’ll have to check. And it’s not just for the Pure and Natural ones like usual, its for any Huggies!

  41. Teresa says:

Never received my facebook free Oreo coupon. Has everyone else received theirs?

Byerlys online coupon of the week is two-ply Cottonelle 12pk for $1.99, add the .50 cent off from 3/14 SS for $1.50!!! The best TP deal I have ever had!

You do have to spend $10, but $1.99 of your tp counts towards that. I filled up with Strawberries that they have on sale for $1.79 lb. Also they have a couple Kashi cereals BOGO (with dollar off coupons I got two Honey Sunshines for $1 a piece), Daisy Sour Cream BOGO and several other items.

    * Byerlys sales run Thursday to Thursday. When they send you their online add it always has a free item or highly discounted item coupon on it.

      Actually Thursday to Wednesday.

I think they also have Cheerios BOGO, and i you have a coupon they will take it.

And if you live or work near Golden Valley, I suggest shopping at that Byerly’s because they are still giving out a lot of samples because of the redo of the store. It is busier there than I have ever seen it.

DO you have a link for this deal? I checked out the site quickly–didn’t see the deal. Thanks if you find it!

I got my first issue of All You magazine and love it, so many coupons!

  46. Sonja says:

I am wondering if everyone that ordered the All You magazine are getting it yet? I am still waiting. I purchased at the beginning of Feb. How long do these subscriptions normally take to get started? Thanks for any insight.

    • TM says:

I purchased at the beginning of Feb too and have not seen mine yet :(

      • Jamie says:

I have not seen mine either :( I am really hoping it comes soon. I am considering checking into it but now hearing others aren’t getting theirs yet, maybe I will wait some more time.

        • Jennifer M. says:

I purchased my subscription through Landofmags.com on November 19 and just got my first copy yesterday! On my invoice it did say it could take up to 16 weeks to receive your first issue, which it did. Very glad I finally got it though as the coupons look great!

    • Christine says:

I didn’t get mine either. However I just started getting the other magazine I ordered, so hopefully it should be here soon.

      • Carrie Rocha says:

I had an All You subscription from before the recent deal and I haven’t gotten my April issue yet, so I think we are all still waiting. I suspect they’ll be coming to all of us in the next few days.

      • JoAnna says:

I got mine in the mail yesterday-hopefully yours will arrive soon!

  47. Amanda says:

Has anyone recieved their Johnson & Johnson Beauty for all ages rebate from back in January? I remember that there was some debate on the $30 mark was before or after coupons. I never got mine (used the before coupon price). Just curious if anyone got theirs??

    • Sarah says:

I got mine end of last week. I’m sure it’s on its way.

I know my mom and I have submitted the same rebates at the same time and sometimes we get them 2 weeks apart. I would give it another week. But now that you’ve posted a comment on it, I’m sure it’ll be in your mail box today! :)

I know we are not supposed to be negative… but I have totally given up on Walgreens in Brainerd the cashiers are so crabby! There’s one who lays all my Qs (man and wags) ,goes through every item ,slowly and painfully with pursed lips as the line grows and grows behind me. For a while I was like I can handle this ,I’m tough…But this really is a small town and I know alot of people….ok Uncle!!!! walgreens you win!!! I give up!!!

    • Kimm says:

Sarah, I think there is a difference in versions of negativity…I think we need to be careful about not attacking others or about not trying to force others to change their way to OUR way….but I find personal experience (good or bad) helpful. I want to know when people have a particular issue with a certain store, etc. It helps me make a more informed decision of where I should spend my dollars. So thanks for posting (even though I’m no where close to Brainerd :-) )!

      • Annette says:

I have found the same problem at the Brainerd store. I thought it might just be an off day for a cashier, but I have found the attitude to be consistent. If you want to deal with very helpful & happy cashiers, go to the Little Falls store.

        • Angela says:

I drove up to Bemidji on Friday and everytime I drove by a Walgreens my heart raced. I wanted to stop to do a “deal” or 2. Espeically the colgate toothpaste deal! I stayed focus and didn’t stop! :o)

  49. Teresa says:

Just a “heads up” that there have been some good coupons on the cooler doors (tear pads) at Super America for the past few weeks ($1 off Ben & Jerrys, $1 off a 20oz Coke & Reeses)

  50. Marcia says:

What does the term “catalina” in the world of couponing mean?

    • Shelly says:

I think it refers to those coupons that print out next to the cash register when you check out at the grocery store : )
