Did all of you get a separate coupon booklet containing both store-issued and manufacturer-issued coupons along with the sales flyer in Sunday paper? Those coupons are good for two weeks, so I’ve separated them out at the end of the list since you can use them either this week or next. Pleas respect the language on the coupon that says “limit one coupon per family.”
By the way, this week is a bonanza and the list is exceptionally long as a result. I only include items that are at or near a rock bottom price after coupons.
The final price on this list assumes you shop on Wednesday or Saturday (if you shop at a Rainbow Foods store) when the face value of up to 5 coupons will be doubled. Read the rules of coupon doubling before you make your first shopping trip.

Buy 6 General Mills Cereal, at regular price Get $10 off instantly at checkout plus a coupon for a free milk
General Mills runs this promotion with some frequency and here are a few things I’ve learned:
— The coupon for free milk usually takes $3.25 off your next purchase that contains milk. Milk is on sale this week for $1.98, so if you split your groceries into two transactions, buy the cereal first and the milk with your second order, using the milk coupon to pay.
— This is one case where I bring all my (cereal) coupons with me. It helps a lot when they are sold out of a kind I wanted.
— To easily figure out if you are getting a good deal work backwards. For instance, I won’t pay more than $1 per box of cereal, which would mean my final price needs to be $6 or less for all 6 boxes. From there, add in the $10 you’ll get off for buying six boxes; this means the price for all 6 boxes can’t be more than $16. Then, add in whatever coupons you have (and double 5 of them, if that applies). Let’s say you had three $1/2 coupons that could be doubled, then add 6 more dollars (three $1 coupons, doubled to $6) to bring your pre-coupon, pre-discount total to $22. What is $22? That is the highest price that all six boxes can total if I am going to buy at my target price. Make sense?

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks
Not sure if this is going to work or not. the catalina deal is still going at Cub until 3/21. I looked but can’t find anything if this cat deal was ever at Rainbow?
Buy 3 and get $1.50
Buy 4 and get $2.50
Buy 5 or more and get $3.50 OYNO catalina
I did this deal last week thinking that it would work and it did. I’m at a Pick/save, but they are basically the same store. It isn’t marked on the shelf, but it worked at checkout. Also, my flyer had them marked one price and they were lower (.20/each) on the shelf in store.
Is the Powerade Buy 10 and get 5 more for free? Or is it Buy 10 and get 5 of them for free?
I “think” it is supposed to be buy 10 get 5 more free.
Is there a Cub list this week? I can’t seem to find it!!
I just noticed that the coupon for the Roundy’s Purified Water for $1.98 says “Price effective Sunday March 21 – Saturday, March 27.” I hope I don’t forget to use it next week.
When I struggle to reach my $25 I fill with fruit, vegis, milk, breads, tp and or canned/dry goods to store in the pantry.
Maple Grove Rainbow didn’t allow me to use Do Not Double Coupons -first time.
Also on an endcap I found the Betty Crocker cake mix and frosting 10/$10. Almost all of them had a $1 off 2, make them both free.
Did they not allow you to use them at all, or did they not double them?
Hi, the cheesecake in the middle Keebler were included in the sale. I specifically asked the cashier before and had a “back up” thing of coookies just in case. My coupons doubled fine, and they evidently went by the before coupon prices becasue they all doubled and my final price was less than $25.
Has anyone found out yet if they Lay’s “Naturals” are included in the sale? Thanks!
Yes, the Lay’s “Naturals” are included in the sale.
The Rosina meatballs don’t work – the coupon is for 28-32 oz, and the $3 bag is 12 oz.
Here’s a link for $3/2 Suave 24 hour deoderant: http://www.dontfretthesweat.com/coupons
These deoderants are included in the deal, so the up front cost for 4 is $.64 after the printable coupons plus you get a $2 coupon with the promo (just did it this morning).
Awesome deodorant coupons!!!! Thanks, Teresa!
thanks! i am gonna do this one tonight :-)
I couldn’t find the Palermo pizza deal in the store…the only ones I found were over $6. Also, at our store the Cheescake Keeblers were not included in the sale – I even asked. Weird how stores are different! I am so thankful to be doing this but I get so frustrated that by 8:30 AM most of the “would be free” items are gone (and I have to wait until my daughter is on the bus to go). I only want to get one of each item but I see people wiping the shelves clean. I think they need to share a little, no one needs that much conditioner! All the Suave products that I had coupons for were already off the shelves by 8:30 AM. Crazy! Thank you Carrie for sharing your knowledge with us!
Tara,
I hear ya! The only thing more annoying than finding empty shelves is reading comments (not on here) about how someone bought 10 of something, but then gave most to the food shelf.
I completely agree with this.
Don’t forget to ask for a raincheck on those items that they’re out of stock on. My store in AV provides these and then will allow you to get the same deal & use your coupons (even if they are now expired) as long as they are stapled onto the raincheck slip. The best part is that the supplies are not limited and often have a much better selection the following week or two. I can’t recall how long the rainchecks are good for, but it’s at least 2 weeks.
One thing I noticed this morning at MG Rainbow was that there was extensive stocking of the shelves going on. I was there at 8:30. So it might be that they are doing restocking during their mid morning lull and that’s why the shelves are empty, not that people have come in early and wiped them out already. I had success with almost everything I was looking for, with the exception of the Frank’s Red Hot sauce that I’ve been saving to reach my $25 with some freebies (fortunately I was not in dire need today). I would ask at your store next time if they’re out or simply haven’t restocked something. It could be the latter at that hour of the morning.
A friend called and told me that they had adjusted their computers so for the cereal deal, your total needs to be $35, then the $10 comes off, then your coupons will double. This hasn’t been my experience in the past, but maybe they changed all computers? Wondering if anyone has done the cereal deal today, and what their experience was. I can’t go until after dinner. Thanks!
I just did the cereal deal and all I bought on that transaction was 4 suave items and 6 boxes of cereal – so only about $26-$27 and it worked just fine.
I got 6 boxes of gm cereal, then 2 boxes cascadian farms cereal, 4 boxes of cake, 2 frosting, and garlic potatoes and total was $9.17 saved $33.32 before would of been over $35 but I didn’t see anything in store?
Your cereal total doesn’t need to reach $35. I purchased 6 boxes of GM cereal today. The total came to $20.14 – $10 – $6 (doubled coupons) = $4.14. That came out to be less than 70 cents per box. On top of that, I also got a coupon for $3.25 to use next time on milk. What a great day.
didn’t have time to read through all posts so this may be a repeat and I am not sure if it matches any coupons, but as I do a lot of baking I recieved a catalina stating that if you purchase 2 MC cormicks Food color/extracts between 3/19 and 4/11 you will recieve 1.50 off next order or purchase 3 or more and recieve 2.50 off next order.
Couponmom.com database says there is a .75 McCormick coupon in the 03/14 Red Plum insert, so that would make a great matchup with the catalina printing out after purchase.
Coupons.com has a $1/1 printable coupon (that can be doubled).
I did the cereal thing this morning and it says you need to purchase 6 boxes of GM cereals. My total with other items was not 35.00. Coupons were doubled.
Thanks Naomi, hope you remind us next week when it starts or I remember???
Reminder of a post I made earlier: The Roundy water isn’t effective until week 2 so save it for next week.
I used the BOGO muffin coupon from the Rainbow coupon booklet and got 8 big muffins for $3.25. I got blueberry & almond poppyseed, but there were other flavors available. I don’t normally buy baked goods, but they smelled wonderful this morning and I needed a filler. The ones I got are delicious, so not a bad price for very good muffins and to help reach the $25 for doubling. Happy shopping!
Jennifer, I got the muffins too and they look yummy! I just happened to need them for a mom’s group I have tomorrow, so perfect! AND I also needed a filler so 2 birds with one stone…love it!
I love their Banana Chocolate Chip muffins – Rainbow is one of the few places that still carry them. Yumm!
I didn’t find the Powerade In-Store Display – they had a voided coupon laminated on the shelf but no coupons to use. Did anyone find these somewhere else in the store?
Those are usually by the Customer Service desk, but if not, ask and if they are out at least you can get a rain check.
I did the cereal deal this morning in Forest Lake. The $10 is taken off before the total, so I needed to grab $8 more to make it to $25. I bought 2 pkgs of AA batteries -
Dede – Personally, I think you must have gotten the cashier who makes up her own rules…The $10 should have been treated like a coupon, so you shouldn’t have had to come up with more items to put in your cart. I don’t shop the FL store in the morning anymore because of that specific cashier.
I used the Jimmy Dean breakfast Q’s for $1 not sure which insert they were in, but we are going on a little trip and these are great for in the hotel room for a quick warm breakfast, so they are on sale this week for $2.50 each and I used a $1 Q that was able to be doubled. Did not see this deal listed above. I also found some of the Tostito’s bags had a nice peelie Q for $1 which could be doubled, use this in conjuction with Booklet Q for $1.89 this peelie makes them free if doubled or at the best .89 cents if you add it in as a filler.
Mentioned earlier in the thread was the frustration with the shelves being empty even when arriving at the store early for specific sale items (usually the “free” ones). I was frustrated forever by that and only recently realized all I need to do is ask for a rain check at customer service (or the register?). Then I have two weeks to use my coupons at the sale price and I’m not “competing” for free product. I am much less frustrated now!
I have started doing the rain checks too, and agree, this method should ease any frustration with empty shelves. I used to be bugged by people clearing out the shelves too, but then started to look at it differently when I began stopping on my way to work and was in the store by 6:05 a.m. Many times there are only a handful of items on the shelves before the day even begins, so I quickly realized that more of the “blame” should go on the store for having an inadequate supply of an item that they put on sale. They should have a pretty good idea (if they have talented marketing and management staff) of what the demand for the sale products will be. I am pretty sure major retailers keep track of things like that.
Sometimes i have better luck shopping later in the day as it seems no one stocks overnite anymore — and the deliveries seem to show up during the day too. However, I, too, love the rainchecks. Sometimes I hope for them — especially when I have a lot of coupons I want to use and can’t make enough transactions to use them all :-)
The Powerade in-store display coupon was in the flier right by the front door to our Rainbow (Woodbury). It is on page 2, and the flier looks a lot like their reg. Sunday ads (in other words, it is on newspaper-like paper 8×11), so you have to look carefully.
The Nature Valley Nut Clusters and GoGurt printable coupons are DND. Bummer. :( I really appreciated all the comments about using a gift card as a filler…worked like a charm. :)
There were some $1 off Nature Valley Nut Clusters in one of the paper inserts that expire 4/17/10 that were not a DND. Not sure of the exact insert, but you can go to couponmom.com and search the grocery database to find the insert date.
Cashier at Rainbow told me today to hold onto my Roundy’s card because although the gas promo was ending April 1st, something new was coming..
Angie – she’s probably referring to Personal Perks. I’m in a test Market in WI and every week I get an email telling me my target spending and then a % I get off. (for instance spend $40 this week, get $2 off on your next order.) I got $2.50 off today because of my shopping last week. I still use the rules for the $25 and if I hit my target fine, if not, i don’t worry about it. I should watch it more closely, but I use Rainbow as filler shopping and not my main shopping.
Yeh we have Personal Perks up here too in NE WI. I never quite understood how they figured what your weekly goal was. Usually it was $40 for me, but today my receipt said I had to meet $100 and I’d get off $7.50. Usually for spending $40 I got $3.00 or something like that. I never really tried too hard to meet my goal. If i got it I got it. I’m sure the more you typically spend the higher your ‘goal’ is. I should mention I only go to Pick n Save for Double Daze so I’m not spending gobs of $. I’m just completely satisfied with being able to double coupons. I could care less about gas or perks. :)
The Oscar Mayer hot dogs were $1.49 per package. I bought two and received a catalina for $2.00. What a deal!
Too funny…we posted the same thing at the same time!
I did two transactions today and happened to have two packs of OM hot dogs in each order (on sale for $1.49 each). After I checked out I got a $2 off a future order with each of my orders, making the hot dogs 50 cents a package. I didn’t know this was going to happen, but I’m guessing it’s an unadvertised deal of some sort.
I have a PickNSave and a Piggly Wiggly near me in SE WI. In the Pig’s ad, starting today/Mar. 17th, there was this sale, Oscar Mayer Wieners 1 lb. package, 2 for $3, with this wording next to it in the ad, ‘when you buy 2 receive a $2 coupon for your next purchase’.
But my PickNSave ad does not say anything about that.
Anyone know when this Oscar Mayer deal is expiring?
Did anyone find a $1/1 GM cereal bars coupon in the 2/21 SS? I saw some for cereal, but none for cereal bars.
My cashier told me nothing was definite about the gas program ending. She said she was under the impression they had received a lot of feedback and were reconsidering.
For those going shopping on Saturday, I noticed that KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce was on sale for $1.70 (reg, price $1.95)… so free BBQ sauce with last week’s $1.00 off coupon. Hope that helps!
I also got the $2 Oscar Mayer cat but did not buy any OM products, unless the Palermo pizza is an OM product – did anyone else get the cat from the pizza? The only other items I bought were carrots, oatmeal, Keebler cookies, Roundy’s ice cream, eggs, yo+ yogurt, Tostitos, Sunny D and some Lysol cleaners, so I can’t imagine what else could have generated the cat. If it was the 4 pizzas then they were better than free!!
In 3/7 SS insert there is a coupon for a free Marcal small steps product (towel, bath tiisue or facial tissue) up to $1.00 value. I did a store locate on their website and they sell the product at Rainbow, I thought it would be a good filler to hit the $25 threshold, especially if you have more than 1 coupon!
I just got back from Rainbow and realized on one of my transactions I received a Catalina for a “Try me free ” 100 calorie pack Yo Crunch yogurt! I am not sure what generated the coupon since I had done two back 2 back transactions.
Here is what I purchased on my 1st transaction: (1) Nature’s Valley, (1) Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner, (1) Del Monte Fruit Chillers, (4) Banquet Turkey Pot Pies, Roundy’s Coffee Filters, Roundy’s Drumsticks, Perdue, Chicken Wings, and (1) Always Infinity. My 2nd transaction was the following: (1) Creamette Rotini, (3) Hamburger Helper, (4) Betty Crocker Scalloped Potatoes, (1) Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner, (1) Keebler Cheescake Middle cookies, (1) Ragu, (1) Digiorno 200 Calorie Pizza, and (1) Jennie-O Italian Ground Turkey,
Does anyone have any idea what would have generated that Catalina?
I got one last week for no apparent reason either. I didn’t buy any of the things you named, but I did redeem that coupon this week. I haven’t tried my free Yo Crunch yogurt yet, but I loved getting it for free. It was $2.99 shelf price and a great filler to get to my $25 threshold.
I figured out i have to make 2 or 3 trips to the store in order to have most of my coupons doubled especially if i have a lot of $1 off coupons.
THERESA K…..This next comment is directed to you personally since you were the one that made the statement regarding empty shelves, and i quote: “The only thing more annoying than finding empty shelves is reading comments(not on here) about someone bought 10 of something, but then gave most to the food shelf”. Please tell me that you had a momentary lapse in judgement or that you didn’t mean to say it or that you had a bad awful day, give me something!!!!!! I AM THAT PERSON and I make no apologies for trying to make a small difference in someones life, even if it means that you might have to go without for the moment. As others have suggested and you already know…get a raincheck and wait 3 days and shop on saturday, you know you will get what ever it is that you seem to think you can’t live without. Maybe you should give of your time and work at a food shelf and see the “REALITY”. Hunger is everywhere> make a difference instead of whining that you went without! These people go without EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIFE.
Terri,
I stand by my statement 100%. I guess I can see why you thought I was merely an annoyed shopper, but this far from the case. That has not happened to me very much and it is simple to get rainchecks for what isn’t there. You are at peace with your practice of buying multiples of items at low cost to you and then donating them, but please consider others’ opinions. I have done a lot of research into this topic and interviewed full-time workers at the ICA food shelf in Minnetonka where my mother works daily. (My family gives quite a bit to ICA, contrary to your assertion. ) I’ve written twice on this blog the results of my interview and research, so I’ll not repeat it here. I don’t know what else to say other than to please reconsider the method you choose use to give multiple of items to the food shelf. I am truly sorry that my comments upset you, but it doesn’t help to turn on me. It’s about people trying to feed themselves in a difficult economy.
Terri – I’ve appreciated a number of your posts in the past and am thankful for your lists and help however I don’t think that Theresa deserved that rude post which seemed to turn into a personal attack rather than a statement of opinion.
I will agree with Theresa that it is annoying and frustrating when you see the shelves cleared and see posts that they a person cleared the shelves and went to the food shelf.
For those out there that are bordering on being able to use the food shelf but in good faith do not and try to strech their dollars as much as possible in order to keep it stocked for a worse off person it can be disheartening. As Dawn pointed out It’s not always on a whim that someone can get to the store and sautrdays double coupon days only run so long.
Just trying to play peacemaker here, I’ve been on a number of sites before that have been ruined by strong differences of opinion that have turned ugly and ruined the site.
With that said I also don’t want to make it seem that it’s a bad things to donate to the food shelves. Because of this site I am able to actually donate a few things here and there where I have never been able to do so before.
As a shopper who has medical issues so some days are not an option. If I can get to Rainbow on Wednesday I like to get what we need to eat/use for the week. I am slowly able to start to get a couple of items to stock up. I find it frustrating when they are completely out of items. I do donate especially to courage center and the food shelf and know the need there as well. I guess I wish there was a better supply at the store so that all could get what they need but know budget issues and planning ordering can be difficult for the stores as they have so many items at good deals. I do like it when there are limits so that all can get at least some of the items.
I am just glad this gourp is here as I have been able to donate and use coupons that I wouldn’t normally use but help those who can. It is hard times for many.
i think you both present good points and can only hope the grocery stores can do better planning with the rein checks.
For those planning their Saturday transactions:
I was able to use the Cheesecake Middles with the $0.98 cookie coupon. They rang up at the right price for the deal and there was no problem with using the store coupon.
If you are looking for the $2 Palermo’s pizzas — the word “Palermo” is really small on them. The word “Classics” in all caps is what you see when you first glance at the pizza
I was not able to find the Lay’s Made with Natural ingredients at all at my Rainbow (East lake).
thanks for the heads up on the pizzas!
ANGELA M> i also received that same catalina about a month ago and it was after I had purchased yogurt. IN MOST CASES, a catalina of this type typically prints when Company A (in this case Bryers) wants to pull your attention away from Company B (Dannon,Yoplait, etc). If you ever want a freebie for Soy Milk, for example, just purchase a 1/2 gal. of SILK and watch a catalina fly out for a Free 1/2 gal. of BLUE DIAMOND. it’s a dog-eat-dog world out their, and companies are vying for our business in any way they can. It’s just one way for them to spend their advertising dollars and then relying on Ms.Consumer to do her part and spread the word. In your case, you did not purchase yogurt…it is possible that the customer before you did and was not given the catalina, either that or Bryers is a subsiderary of one of the product companies you purchased and it spit out for that reason, either way,,,enjoy.
THERESA K> I do apologize if you felt that this was a “personal” attack, considering you were the one to personally make the comment, but lets get to the real problem. The real problem are the dept.heads that do the ordering. You RARELY see shortage when its a coke or pepsi promo…that’s becuz the salespeople do the ordering, not the grocery manager. If a product on ad is “in-house”, it means it is coming from the warehouse, not the manuf. Store managers keep a tight leash on their dept. heads to keep inventory down as it has a direct result on their bottom line. Sales reps and independant jobbers are watched like a hawk as to not OVER ORDER and there is no overstock or inventory in the back rooms, ever. They will send it back if they can’t get it on the shelfs. There are exceptions, special promos, endcap displays, etc. The store tags speak volumns. not just the UPC. Ever want to know how much a store sells of each item in a month, a week, whatever? It’s all on the tags on the shelf. There’s a reason the depts heads walk around with their little Norands when placing an order. We all need to step up to the plate and send Rainbow Corporate an e-mail with a brief complaint about shortage. Cub is coming up with some VERY exciting changes in the way they do business and it will hurt Rainbow if they don’t change some things and they need to know that.
Terri – You seem to be in the know of how groceries operate, and seem to have additional knowledge about Cub. Can you share the “VERY exciting” things that are coming?
I’m curious as well as to what the “Very Exciting” changes are coming up at Cub. Please share.
Angela M- I got that YoCrunch free catalina a couple weeks ago when I bought some of the yoplait yogurts, so I agree it must have been left over from a previous customer. Lucky you!
The cereal deal worked as normal for me. I did 4 transactions (only one with cereal) for a total of $40 and a savings of 70% (almost $100). I posted it here:
http://momforhim.blogspot.com/2010/03/weekly-groceries_18.html
Eeverything in moderation. Get what you need and donate one or two, but be considerate of everyone else. Where I shop I see alot of metro mobility users and elderly trying to do their shopping with their lists and coupons. They only have ONE shot to pick up everything they need and they have worked and planned and sometimes can only get to that store once or twice a month. They can’t use or understand all the time it takes to get and remember to use a rain check. They too NEED the items NOW. It is very frustrating!!! And no store can see into the future that one person is going to buy all of there stock. Being considerate is equally as important as being generous. It isn’t very helpful to donate at the expense of depriving others who also need it. Maybe stores will need to put a limit on everything. Hope not.
Not to belabor the “shelf-clearers vs. understocked-stores” debate, but with all due respect to you Maryellen, I am quite certain that all major retailers employ very talented and competent marketing and management people who are paid to “see into the future” and track the trends in consumer purchasing! These are the people who make sure that their loss-leaders get people into the store to purchase the higher priced items that keep them in business and turning their hefty profits. It is obvious that the average John and Jane Consumer in America don’t shop like the PYD readers do and this is what keeps stores in business. Hopefully understanding this basic concept of marketing should shed some light on why the shelves are often empty when you go to get that hot buy of the week.
With the numerous posts about how everyone can get a rain check to calm your frustrations over the emptied shelves, please quit the shelf-clearer bashing. Our posts should be to help each other, not bash or attack each other. Each time I come on PYD and see the readers attacking each other it makes me want to quit posting things for fear of someone seeing something differently than I do and opening fire on me! Please keep your comments positive and helpful as Carrie ALWAYS asks us to do. Thank you and continued HAPPY SHOPPING to the PYD community!
Besides moderation and quantity limitations, are there any other ways to solve this situation? I for one did not get the following: QUAKER OATS, CARROTS, APPLES, FLOUR, and ICE CREAM. All of which had a quantity limit of ONE. So you see my point? Mgmt trying to control excess inventory. They know we are all going to shop on Weds and/or Sats. They also know that we will adjust and get rainchecks, that’s why they offer them. I honestly do not think it is a form of goodwill on their part. They probably figure that when we come back to redeem our rainchecks we will just pick up a couple more things as long as we are there. Ah ha, eurika, mission accomplished. An email to corporate can’t hurt. At least we tried.
I have frequently found cashiers at the Uptown Rainbow on Lagoon seemingly irritated with the use of coupons. They are not overtly rude–but make you feel a little like a second class citizen. Has anyone else had this experience? (On the other hand, I have had a few younger cashiers who smile and seem genuinely impressed with all of the groceries I get for a limited amount of out of pocket.) Thanks for responding.
Maryellen,
Thanks for your consideration for those who have a disabilty is one form or another. Speaking from experience I know the frustration of not always being able to get to the grocery store, if I get there I need help with reaching at times. It also doesn’t pay well so saving is a must. Between Dr.’s, Meds, and such it is a drain financially.
If anyone does see someone who appears to be having a hard time lend a smile and helping hand if you can. I for one appreciate those gestures.
As I posted last Thursday…..sending my husband with a detailed list, coupons and all doesn’t work well. My Mind is willing but my body may not be. If it were up to him he would eat candy, potato chips and toss the list after the first row. :-) He just prefers me doing the lists filling the carts giving him one at a time items to find which usually means he will find 6 items he thinks we need with no coupons. LOL
We are both thankful for this group as the savings are more then before being part of PYD. I do think the good out of the discussion here is that contacting corporate with the issue of empty shelfs could benefit everyone. It’s worth a try.
Product update:
If you get the Rainbow flyer that is in the front of the store inside you will find a 1.00 coupon for the Energizer batteries incase you don’t have one. It is a manufacturers coupon but only good at Rainbow so I think you could use with coupon out of booklet. There is also a powerade and WW frozen meals coupon.
I didn’t see this listed above but they have Bertolli Olive Oil 17 oz for 5.99. I remember seeing a 1.00 coupon awhile back so could maybe find the date at couponmom.com and at 3.99 after double coupon I think that is a good buy. I have used that brand and we like it.
They have Hershey candy bars 4/$2.00 so if you didn’t get them at another store you could use the peanut butter cup with dark chocolate coupons on those
Lastly they show Eagle Mills Flour for 2.49. This isn’t a great price but Carrie had it as one of her picks from Smart Source awhile back and the printed coupon is for 1.00 off 5lbs of flour so final price would be .49 after double coupon. The coupon indicates it is made from Ultragrain whole wheat so may be better for you???
Anyway thought I would point these things out as I found them.
Thanks, Dawn!
I was at Rainbow last night in Chaska and received the OM Catalina as well. I also got the Keebler Cheesecake cookies for .98 plus used the coupon from the paper last week to get them free. Also the Del-Monte fruit chillers were 2/$4 and if you have two of the printable coupons for $1.00 when doubled you get both free. I unfortuantely only had one coupon with (the other one was still on the printer at home) but 2/$2 was better than $2.99/1. I also wanted to do the Suave promotion which I had figured out that with the $2 off next purchase I would have got my deoderants and body washes free. They woman in customer service gave me a raincheck that 3/$4.98 and to take $2.00 off my purchase when I come back to buy them as long as I buy 4 (meaning I meant the $6 threshold) So with coupons I will get them free next week when I go back. I learned last night it never hurts to ask customer service.
I tried to use a coupon at Rainbow that was from the Sunday Cub insert. It said Manufacturer Coupon at the top and did not say Cub anywhere on it, but they wouldn’t let me use it. Is that normally the case at Rainbow? Seems like it should be a valid coupon anywhere if it’s a manufacture’s coupon.
I used the $2 pepsi mfg coupon from Cub’s ad at the Quarry Rainbow and it went through without a problem.
I had no luck using the Cub mfg coupons at Rainbow in EP.
Hey just a heads up at rainbow when things are advertised 2/4 you usually do not need to buy two they should ring up at the $2 sale price no matter how many you buy unless the ad/store said MUST buy two to get price. Just a heads up! hope this helps :)
I noticed the Eagle Flour deal didn’t get added. It is in the ad for 2.49. Carrie sent a coupon highlight with this flour for 1.00 and Rainbow carries it. I know some are out of the Gold Medal. With the double coupon it is only .49 cents after double coupon and they may be better stocked.
Dawn – I didn’t put it in because I couldn’t find it in my ad. I must just not be seeing it…could you please tell me where it is? I couldn’t find it online, either.
At the Plymouth Rainbow 494 and Cty 9 I don’t see any crystal light coupons there, what Rainbow did you find this at?
I don’t know if anyone posted this yet, but the fresh fish coupon in the booklet also works on the frozen fish by the meat counter – probably not the ones in the frozen foods section though. There are several bagged varieties for $4.99/lb – I got polluck. I hope that can help someone!
Can someone please explain to me how Carrie can figure that alot of these items she has
posted on here can = free after doubled if the coupon (on the link she provides) specifically says “do not double” I’m very confused.
Angela ~ Usually, in Carrie’s introduction to the shopping list she puts a disclaimer in that she cannot tell which printables say DND, but this week she did not. Just look at any of the other week’s Rainbow lists. She does not print out every coupon she links us to, so she has no way of knowing if it says DND, but often the readers will post if a coupon is DND. A few weeks ago I had som DNDs that my cashier at Maple Grove said they can no longer double, so now I just plan on that and use those for my 6th and after coupons in my order. HTH.
I live about 5 miles farther from a rainbow foods than my mom and she gets a weekly flyer in the mail. Is there anyway I can request a flyer sent to my house?
