Rainbow Foods, Copps, Pick N Save Shopping List 3/7 – 3/13/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

There are some great weekly deals at Rainbow this week including more free yogurt, free Quaker products and $0.25 Emerald Nuts. Please notice that the in-ad coupons all say “limit one per family.” Please respect that and only use one for your family. Read this post about coupon ethics if you wonder why it’s important to follow the rules.

The final price on this list assumes you shop on Wednesday or Saturday (if you shop at a Rainbow Foods store) when the face value of up to 5 coupons will be doubled. Note that I cannot tell which printables say “do not double” and which do not apart from printing them and I cannot always print every one (sometimes I have already printed it, etc.). That means you’ll need to review the coupons cross-referenced on this list to confirm whether they can be doubled or not. Some stores are actively enforcing the policy to not double coupons that say “do not double.” (Generally, any printables for General Mills, Pillsbury or Betty Crocker products will say “do not double”)

Comments

  1. Lisa says:

The Newman’s coffee link goes to Stonyfield. Is there a $1 off Newman’s coffee? Thanks!

  2. kit says:

are there any printable coupons for tampax or always that you know of. thanks

  3. Levy says:

is it ok to double a coupon even if you only buy 1 item?

  4. erin says:

Last week, the cashier would not allow me to use two coupons for a B1G1 deal. She said I can’t use a coupon on a free product and only used one of the two coupons. I just said “okay” since I’m still pretty new to this and am learning the ins and outs. Was this right???

  5. Kierstien says:

Luv’s Jumbo Diapers $6.99 if you get coupons mailed to you from luvs this makes it a better deal I got two $2.50off any luvs diapers making these only $4.49 plus you dont have to use it as one of your dbl cpns so you can get an extra one! HTH someone!

    • Holly says:

Do you know what size diaper packs these are? Just trying to figure out if this is a better deal per diaper than what I normally buy.

      • Chelle says:

I just picked up a pack of jumbo Luvs in size 4 and there are 31 diapers in the pack. So I guess it’s comparable to other brands as per pack amount. Premium diapers run a little less. I have Huggies Little Movers here in the same size and you only get 27. Hope this helps. I wouldn’t go crazy and stock up as Walgreens usually has great deals and Target’s isn’t bad right now. For the Rainbow deal if you get the $2.50 coupon then it would make the diapers roughly 14 cents each depending on the size. If you only have the $1 coupon they will be 16 cents each. I think Luvs aren’t awesome diapers, just ones I buy when they are really really on sale. So it’s your call. Right now at Target you can stack their Huggies $1.50 internet coupon with the Huggies $2 coupon making a jumbo pack $5.49 (17 cents for snug and dry. 20 cents Little Movers each in size 4). Not a good deal for their big box at all. Pampers is the same deal if you can find coupons for those. Then also use the receipts toward the P&G rebate. Not that long ago Wagreens had the jumbo Huggies $8.99 and I used $2 off coupons so it made them $6.99 and you got $3 RR for each pack. This is more my type of sale! Good luck.

  6. BILL says:

The Ragu coupons didn’t show up after I registered. Are they gone already??

  7. Raine says:

Is there a way to get the Procter and Gamble, Redplum and Smartsource inserts without ordering a Sunday paper?

  8. Emily says:

I am also having a hard time finding the Newman’s Own Organic Coffee on the stonyfield website. Is there a special place to find it? Thanks!

  9. Katie says:

When I bought the Bagel Bites on Saturday, they were $2.49 each, so with that coupon doubled they would be $0.49 for 2!

  10. Liz says:

When double couponing at Rainbow, you have to purchase $25 in the transaction to double 5 coupons. Do you divide your groceries and do multiple transactions at your shop? If so, do you use the self check-out line to make this happen? I am just curious about what works best for most people. I am fairly new to couponing! Thanks! :)

    • Nikki says:

Liz – I haven’t done too many multiple transactions but have went through the self check-out during double coupon days. A cashier or manager has to come over to scan and override each coupon so it’s kind of a pain. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are in a hurry or the lines are long.

    • JoannaV says:

Welcome to couponing. I would encourage you to take a few minutes and read some of Carrie’s posts on this blog for newbies and new Rainbow shoppers. They contain a wealth of information and would really go a long way to help you get started. Good luck!

  11. Barbara says:

Dreamfield pasta Q is a DND. FYI if you are planning that as one of your 5. Still 59 cents is a good price.

  12. AJ says:

Wow! Thank you for posting this so early. I’m so appreciative of all your hard work Carrie and Laura.

  13. Kate says:

Does anyone know if Rainbow honors $1.00 off 2 products, if their ad says said items are Buy One Get One?
Ex. The Post Cereals offer this week?
When figuring out your 25 dollar minimum, would you factor in the cost of one cereal, or both?

    (did that make sense?)
Or is it just a crap shoot depending on who your cashier is?

    • Jennifer H says:

      Kate -

Yes, a coupon for $1.00 of two products works even when one is a BOGO. I have also never had a problem at Rainbow counting the free item towards my $25 threshold.

  14. SarahBB says:

Thanks for posting this on Sunday– it’s so helpful!
Regarding self-checkout for double coupon days– doesn’t work so well, need a cashier to help with the coupons anyway.
Re: using more than 2 coupons on each product in a BOGO deal –it does seem to depend on which cashier you get, though I think its a policy that it should work– so maybe going to customer service is worth a shot.

  15. Chrissy says:

I am really glad I printed two of those Ragu coupons when you sent out the post a while ago… THANK YOU!

  16. Jessica says:

I am sort of also excited about the Kuerig K-Cups Coffees — $6.99 for 12 cups – and I know I have a $3/2 coupon. This is one luxury my hubby and I enjoy – and are willing to splurge on.

    • Holly says:

It says on the coupon that is for the 12 cup pack but I used this on an 18 cup pack at Target yesterday and it worked with no issues! Where did you get your other coupon Jessica?

  17. Lisa says:

Hi, I can’t find the newman’s own coffee coupon on Sonyfield’s website.

  18. Kirsten says:

Is that actually a rock bottom price on the whole chicken? I feel like we’ve seen lower price-per-pound…or maybe even Aldi’s regular price per pound is lower? But I am not sure if my memory is serving me correctly on that. Does anyone know?

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Kirsten – I don’t think it’s rock bottom, but it’s close. I think $0.80/lb is a great price for chickens. Anyone else have a thought?

    • Chrissy says:

Do you know how many pounds the chickens normally are?

    • Jennifer says:

Costco has whole chickens normally at .79/pound but since I don’t get there nearly as often, I’ll get the chicken at Rainbow and that will help get me to the $25 mark. It is definately a “good” price for chicken.

  19. Theresa K. says:

I did find Newman’s Own coupons, including one that is for 50 cents off any product. 5.99 for organic coffee is a good price.

    http://www.newmansown.com/coupons.aspx

  20. Chrissy says:

What about the Corned Beef… can I find it cheaper someplace else?

  21. jen says:

Jose Ole products were 5.99 last time they did this deal about a month or so ago. HTH

  22. Michelle P says:

Regarding the Campbell’s soups, the “Great for Cooking” soups say so right on the label. I know that Chicken Noodle and Tomato do not say this on the label, it is mainly the cream soups. The coupon may work on the chicken noodle or tomato, I haven’t tried it though.

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Michelle – Ingenious! For two years I have periodically searched the web looking for an official list adn it never once occurred to me to read the label of the can. Sometimes I miss the most obvious things. I appreciate the tip.

  23. Lisa says:

Thanks for the link Theresa! I am running out of coffee and am getting worried that I won’t get a good deal.

  24. Tanya says:

I believe if you buy the Embrace Razor and Olay Body Wash with the $1/1 Razor coupon and free Body Wash coupon, you can have them count towards your $25 and you get the free body wash. That should be very little out of pocket, but I didn’t calculate it yet.

    • Theresa K. says:

      Tanya,

I found the Embrace coupon from the 3/7 P & G insert and a $1 Olay body wash in the same, but where can I find a coupon for a free body wash? Thanks!

  25. Stacy says:

A couple of weeks ago the Forest Lake Rainbow had a tear pad at the front door with rebate forms for P&G products. Buy $25 worth in one transaction and receive a $10 prepaid VISA gift card. Combined with the deals and coupons this week I figured I will get $25 worth for about $15 (using double coupons) and then the $5 catalina at the register – then with the mail in rebate and gift card it will be free! Of course this purchase won’t count then for the coupon book mail in for P&G…

I don’t know if they still have these available but I will check on Wednesday when I go in!

  26. Maryellen says:

I think the cooking soups are the soups with a blue ribbon right below the “Campbell’s Condensed Soup” on the label. It says Great For Cooking. Those are the soups they are talking about. Also at the Rainbow I go to, you can see the cooking soups or with the blue ribbon shown on those little labels with the picture above each soup. It says cooking soups. You can see the blue ribbon on that coupon you have a link to.

  27. Nicole says:

Just wondering where you find out about the catalinas. I bought Crystal Lite water bottle to go packets that are on sale and when I checked out with 6 boxes I got a $3 catalina. Just wondering if I do this again it will happen. My family likes these instead of pop. Thanks

  28. Maryellen says:

    Oh, sorry I didn’t see Michelle’s note.

  29. Lisa says:

Oh, thanks for the tip on Aldi coffee; I’ll check it out.

    • Tricia says:

I tried the Aldi decaf (in a green can). It was awful! We threw it out. What have others tried that they enjoyed? I love Aldi’s, but didn’t know about coffee…

      • Kimm says:

Aldi has a double guarantee – if you don’t like their product, they’ll give you your money back and a different product.

      • Pam says:

Coffee and frozen waffles are 2 things I haven’t been happy with at Aldi and I shop there often.

    • Chrissy says:

I get the Kona coffee blend. We really like that one.

  30. SarahBB says:

Anyone know how much the BOGO Mini Bagel Bites cost?

  31. Eva says:

FYI as everyone gets their Qs organized for 2morrow!the dannon danimals Qs in 2/7 SS expired on 3/7 but the 2/28 are valid. Have fun and save much!

  32. Joanna says:

How does the register caculate BOGO? Will both items count towards my $25? Or only one? I am looking at the chicken that is BOGO and the salad, and trying to figure out what my total will look like before coupons. Any one have any thoughts on this?

    • SarahBB says:

In a BOGO situation, both items count towards your threshold– this has always been my experience at Eagan RB.

    • Kristin says:

At the Riverdale Coon Rapids store the cashier only counted one of the BOGO items towards my $25.

      • Kristin says:

Lisa, I should clarify! When I go Wed. am the cashier does not allow the 2nd item to count. When I went in the PM once, I had no problem. When do you go?

        • Lisa says:

PM. :) And saturday mornings now.

          • Kristin says:

Lisa, I’m learning that the older of the 2 cashiers on Wed. AM is in general more pleasant and does not act like such a coupon Nazi (in case you ever go.) Have not tried using 2 coupons on a BOGO with her yet though. Time will tell!

When you go on Wed pm or Sat do they usually have everything or do they run out?

            Thanks!

        • Lisa says:

Wed pm is really hit or miss. I generally have about 3 plans ready because there is a good chance things will be out. If I stop in with the kids about 5 my luck is pretty good, if I go after the kids are in bed I’m pretty much just there to get rainchecks. Health and Beauty things usually no chance at either time. On the plus side ALL the cashiers are great at this time. I actually enjoy talking to all of them.

Saturdays are wonderful right now because I can get there early around 9:00 and they are either in the process of restocking or are fully restocked. I did go in one day at 6:45 before the kids got up but they weren’t restocked yet. Plus there is only one cashier so I felt bad trying to do 2 trans, then come back in and do 2 more. No matter what it’s a back up when there is only one there. I go to the same woman each time too. She can be tough and we’ve had a couple “discussions” on my coupons but I’d never consider it a problem. I’m bound to break her into a smile one of these days too!

I’ve never had problems with 2 Q’s on BOGO either. HTH

    • Lisa says:

Funny I go to CR and both count. YMMV (Carrie or Theresea, did I get that right?) :)

  33. SarahBB says:

Is there really a 6 transaction limit? I have 7 transactions ready– though I can do some Wed and some Saturday.

    • Theresa K. says:

Trust me, don’t do 7 transactions with your Roundy’s card! I did two weeks ago and was SO embarrassed. The cashier was nice about it, but still…I felt like I had gotten caught eating an entire cake or something. I felt awful. At least I could tell myself I didn’t know. I do now. :)

There is a limit of 6 purchases per day using your Roundy’s card. I think it is to cap fuel perks that one might earn, since a store can’t otherwise limit a customer’s daily purchases. Whether or not Roundy’s has instituted a limit for couponers (a certain number of visits per day), I don’t know.

      • Theresa K. says:

Of course, I meant don’t do 7 transaction IN ONE DAY using your Roundy’s card. Splitting your plans between Wednesday and Saturday is a great option…and gives you even more opportunities.

  34. andrea says:

Carrie, it is now weds at 5:59 and I have been looking all day for your rainbow list on your blog. I didn’t see it on the web list and have been watching since sunday. I am not on face book or twitter, but I happen to push my mouse past the twitter sign at the top of you site and when I pulled down I found the current rainbow list. Yippee! Am I looking in the wrong place or it is just my PMS state that is making me miss the obvious. I know you have been talking about changing things up, so maybe there is something I am not understanding.
    I sure appreciate you!

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Andrea – Rainbow’s coupon policy will stay at the very top of the list when you click “Shopping List/ Rainbow Foods” from now on. That post has been at the top of the list like that for a few weeks though, it wasn’t just added this week. Maybe that is why you didn’t notice that the list was there? Bummer that you didn’t see it when it is the earliest it’s been up in months. Next week :)

    • Theresa K. says:

That used to confuse me, too. Carrie posts lots of great stuff, so the timeline doesn’t always show what I’m looking for. Just use the links at the top of the page.

  35. amy says:

For those looking for good and relatively inexpensive coffee…Trader Joes. I have learned from PYD that they also own Aldi but their coffee must be different because its actually good unlike Aldi. While you’re there its the best place to pick up inexpensive wine too…$3!

  36. Pam says:

The printable coupon for $1 off 4 birdseye veggies says (excluding steamfresh).

  37. Julie W says:

I just did the P and G deal today before work (yikes, early but down to 3 tampons so worth it! lol)

Wanted to save some of you trouble, the P and G rebate is on the receipt not a catalina.

    Happy shopping!
    Julie

    • MP says:

Did you happen to notice if any of the Tampax Pearl tampons were included in the sale?

      • Lauren says:

The Tampax Pearl tampons were not included in the sale. Also, I bought $25 worth of P&G products, but after coupons my total was less than $25, and no coupon printed out for me. My cashier told me it was because my total was under $25, but I didn’t think that’s how it worked… anyone else have this problem?

        • Jen says:

I had the same problem, Lauren. I ended up at CS and returned some items I was planning to donate. The lady at CS said that for the P&G deals you need to spend $25 after Qs.

  38. Rebecca says:

The Jose Ole coupon must have been moved after this was posted. It said “Page Not Found”. I did find a $1.00 coupon by typing in http://www.joseole.com (on the bottom left-hand side of the page).

  39. Rachel B says:

Just wanted to let you all know a few things since I’ve already been to Rainbow this morning:

-the Tyson Anytizers are on sale for $3 and there was a coupon in this weeks ad. Same page as the Jose Ole one.

-There are hardly any GM cereals on sale. I went looking for 2 specific ones, and the only ones I remember that were on sale were Cin Toast Crunch, Trix, and plain Cheerios. There might have been one or two others, but hardly any.

  40. Stacy says:

Oh I just had a *bad* experience at my local Rainbow! I went early right when they opened so I could get my shopping done before work and so I could do a few transactions when they are not busy.

So I had a total of 4 transactions in my cart all carefully figured out to meet the $25 to get my doubles. They were average size too not tons of stuff. I was the *only* one checking out and there were just a couple other people in the whole store. When I got the register I said to the cashier that I came in really early because I did have a few transactions. She was very snippy and immediately said “we have a limit of two transactions I cant ring you up for any more”. I was surprised and expressed that because it had not been a problem in the past. I asked her if it was written somewhere and she just said the rules are the rules. I thne asked if I could go put the stuff in my car and come back through and she said “no I wouldn’t ring you up!” I asked to speak with the manager and she said there was not one there. ….anyway….i could go on with this story but i have to say it was the worst shopping experience i have had and I ended up in tears and I am *not* the crying type!! She was just sooo mean and rude.

She also refused to allow me to use 2 coupons for two products that the store had on sale buy one get one free – she said that I was getting one free.

I am *very* disappointed with my experience. Could anyone tell me if I did something wrong?? I am considering calling the store manager after that. I *never* want to deal with that cashier again!!!

    • Kierstien says:

I would deff call the manager and/or write to corprate. i really dont think they could NOT ring you up again if you came back in…that doesnt seem right. since there is nothing in their policy forbidding this. Sorry you had a bad experience. ***hugs***

    • Rachel B says:

I’d def call the store mgr. The only thing I’d point out is that many people only do 2 trx at once, then come back into the store and do 2 more instead of having it all in their cart. Pretty sure that wouldn’t have helped you this am since it likely would have been the same cashier. Anyway, besides that, I’d say she was the one with the problem. I’ve had trips like that too. I hate it. It’s hard to put all that work into getting your list ready and be excited to get the things you want, and then to have it all fall apart at the store.

    • Theresa K. says:

Aw, bad way to start a double coupon day. Since you asked, I would offer that you shouldn’t have expected to do 4 transactions in one visit. Two at the very most. Sounds like the cashier was already offended, so I’m not surprised she refused to ring you up. You might want to consider going back to her and apologizing for being in a hurry, getting upset, whatever… (it often works to break the ice and repair any damage). Maybe she’ll end up being your best ally in the future!

    • Anita says:

as far as I can tell you did nothing wrong.

Personally I never do more than 2 transactions at a time. Even if nobody is behind me I still don’t do more than 2 at a time. I rarely do more than 3 transaction total because I don’t think it’s fair to other shoppers. JMHO (Just my humble opinion)

I would call and speak to the manager. Also keep in mind that each store manager can set their own rules regarding coupons. They can refuse any coupon at any time for any reason. More stores (not necessarily Rainbow) are imposing transaction limits due to people cleaning out the shelves. They are not necessarily corporate policy but each store manager can set it’s own policy on that.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

    • sofi says:

sorry for your bad experience it all depends on the cashier too i haved a similar experience yesterday at target ( nasty cashier ) uhhhh

      cheer up

    • Kimm says:

Just curious – what store did you shop at?

      • Stacy says:

Forest Lake. I think it is this particular cashier actually as I had her a couple weeks ago and she just seems put off in general having to deal with customers!

Well I will know better next time I guess….

        • Kimm says:

I’m so sorry for your experience– but exactly what I thought. I don’t shop there during the day anymore (or if I decide to attempt it and I go in and see her, I leave and hit another store on my way to or from work). My experience with that cashier is that she seems to make up the rules as she goes along — typically to the customer’s disadvantage. I have had a much better experience at FL during the evening. (Shoreview is a bit of a drive, but I’ve had great experiences there too…)

        • Beth says:

I just moved up that way. I have not tried FL in the morning. Is it usually that same lady on Wed. Thanks for the heads up. I will not be going therein the morning. I have gone a couple of time in the evening but try to go to Shorview on my way home if I can before I pick up my son. How is FL on Saturdays. I will be going there on Saturday this week. Can’t make it today. I am guessing go early. But how are the cashiers at that time. Any thoughts.

          • Kimm says:

I haven’t had as many cashier issues on Saturday, but sometimes the store is really picked over. Often I’ll stop there to see if I can get what I need, and if the store is really picked over, I’ll drive down to Shoreview.

          • Stacy says:

I’m a newer Rainbow shopper and have not been in on Wednesday nights. She is one of the daytime regulars I think & has been there the two times I have gone in….I didn’t forget her from the first time I was there! (unfortunately!)

    • Anne says:

I would definately call the manager. Did you remember her name? Be sure to tell the manager her name so she can get talked to. There was no reason for her to treat you badly and be mad about you trying to save money. I have done more than two transactions (I did 4 once and won’t do that again just because I felt like a fumbling mess trying to keep everything straight.) with no problems. I am sorry you had a bad experience…hopefully next time you have a better experience. I always feel a little better about a bad experience if I call and talk to some manager or something about it. Chances are pretty high that she treated someone the exact same way.

    • Gina says:

My Lakeville Rainbow just today had new signs on the shelf where you pay at each register that they will NO LONGER ACCEPT TWO COUPONS FOR BOGO ITEMS. I had 2 coupons for the Jose Ole products that were BOGO. My coupons went through. I did not see the sign until I was paying, as I always give them my Roundy’s card and coupons before I get to the paying shelf. Anyhow, I think we will need to be sure we are following all their policies as they seem to develop/change weekly. Also, this might just be the Lakeville store.

    • Kara says:

I’m sorry you had a bad experience, and that your trip didn’t live up to your expectations of being able to do multiple transactions. However, I do fear that if too many people take advantage of these double coupon days by breaking up their transactions so that they avoid spending very much money in the end, the stores may just end up dumping the whole program. Let’s try to keep some perspective and not get too greedy, there are lots of customers out there and if we were all trying to do multiple transactions there would be mayhem and empty shelves. I think it’s OK to do a couple transactions once in awhile, but we ALWAYS go out to the car in between and then come back in. Or if my husband and I are together and there is no “per family” limit, we’ll be separate customers.

      • Stacy says:

Thanks Kara for your comment and I do understand what you are saying.

I however, do not have a husband to go in with and be “2″ customers. Being a single parent and the sole provider for my 4 children, one of whom is disabled, I do work very hard to provide for them and my time is very limited. I do not feel as though I am being “greedy”. For me, working to get the best deals possible is a matter of survival.

Not flaming you but just wanted to place things in yet another perspective. :)

Fisher dry roasted and honey roasted peanuts are on sale 2 for $4, so if you use the plethora of Fisher coupons that have been in many inserts lately, you can get them free if your Rainbow doubles coupons that say do not double.

  42. Tami says:

FYI- There is a catalina on Post cereal. I bought four boxes, $3.69 buy one get one, so spent $7.38, used two $1.00 off two boxes, minus the $3 catalina for my next order, spending $.38 for four boxes!

    • Kierstien says:

oh great to hear! my dad loves this cereal i’ll have to tell my mom!

    • JoannaV says:

I did this too and got the catalina. Just in case anyone else is planning to do this, not very many of the Post cereals are bogo. The bogo ones are most of the kid types and raisin bran.

  43. Jaime N says:

Did anyone else have trouble finding the oscar meyer coupon in smart source? I have 2 sets and couldnt find it in either one.

  44. Candi says:

Has anyone tried to do the P& G deal with the Tide? I would like to get the Tide and 2 pkgs of the LUVS diapers but didn’t know if I would still get the 5.00 off my next shopping order.

  45. Becky says:

I am pretty new to couponing and thought I had understood that Rainbow will automatically double your best coupons first. But I seem to keep getting strange things on the receipt, Like today, they doubled my 30 cent coupon and my 75 cent coupon instead of two of my $1 coupons. It is not a lot of money but I wanted to see how others dealt with this. I asked the cashier and she claimed that it was the first 5 scanned but that wasn’t the reality on my receipt. Thanks for all the help!

    • Kierstien says:

yes it should be the first 5 coupons the cashier scans! so what i do is give the cashier my 5 largest (up to $1, that are not dnd) to the cashier and then hand over the rest so this way i know they have to scan the first 5 first! hope this makes sense!

    • Kimm says:

The doubling should happen on the first 5 coupons (exception being those coupons coded to not double…someone before has posted that a 5? or 9? is in the 1st position in the bar code). Tips from ‘seasoned’ couponers: 1) Don’t leave it to chance. Hand the cashier your highest value 1st, make sure they scan/double before handing the cashier more (or give them to the cashier one at a time). 2) Put the coupons in the order you want them scanned. (This can still be risky — I’ve seen some cashiers re-sort them. On the other hand, just last week I had the cashier ask me if I wanted her to scan them in the order I gave them to her! Which was “Yes”, since I put them in high-dollar order and put all my DND’s at the very back so they wouldn’t double accidently).

  46. Kirsten says:

At MG Rainbow, they had Mission tortillas on sale with a peelie on the package–$.55 off. This brought the total price per package down to about $.56/pagkage–pretty good, I think?

Very limited selection on the nuts Emerald nuts. I was disappointed.

  47. Wendy says:

I bought $25 worth of PG products today, but used coupons on everything. I didn’t get my $5 off next order…because I used the coupons! Also, I bought 4 boxes of Post cereal and a $4 off coupon printed out? I guess I’ll call it a wash.

  48. Kara says:

The Post cereal catalina made my morning even better. Not sure what the minimum purchase is to get the catalina, but I had four boxes in one transaction and six in the other and got it for both transactions. Also, the Skippy peanut butter is on sale beyond this weeks store coupon and there was a Unilever insert with $0.75/2 a few weeks ago. So, $0.98 and $1.79 and $1.50 off after doubling.

My Rainbow store has not specified two coupons on BOGO, but my argument is that I’m still transactioning two and the store gets the money for each coupon.

I make it a point to play by the rules and sometimes spend a little extra time and money to do so than if I didn’t play by the rules. I had an encounter with a truly awful cashier a few weeks back. She told me I was stealing from the store and this was after she checked with a manager to see if she should ring through the coupons I was using. The managers resonse was that she should scan the coupons because the cash register computers are set up to automatically accept coupons and automatically double coupons once requirements are met (ie, two coupons on BOGO and each of the BOGO items counting towards the $25 minimum) and it was therefore not the cashiers responsibility to “police” the coupons being used.

  49. Mary says:

Wendy – I did the $25 PG products and used coupons for every item. My total was no where near $25 after coupons and I still received the $5 off my next order. This was attached to my receipt.

  50. amy says:

Just wanted to let others know about a couple good deals that I discovered on my Rainbow adventure today…
Schick disposable razor – 6 pack is on sale for $3.39 and there was a coupon a few weeks back for $3 off any Schick disposable pack. This is the best deal I can find in town -neither Target or Walmart carries the 6 packs.
Also the Dove Ultimate Powder Scent deodorant is on sale for $1.99 there is a printable coupon for $2.00 off – that makes it free (the coupon has been previously posted in Walmart on going deals – but Walmarts price is $2.47)

These can be especially helpful in reaching your $25 minimum.
I only spent $10 today and had much to show for it!

    • Kierstien says:

      thanks so much!

    • Laura Wales says:

Amy – thanks for the tip!

    • steve says:

I guess I really don’t understand how they lose any extra money. They only get reimbursed from the manufacture for the amount on the coupon. If the coupon says $1.00 and do not double they get reimbursed $1.00. If the coupon says $1.00 and nothing about doubling they still only get reimbursed a $1.00.

They always eat the $1.00 they give you.
