Another Bowling Deal: Kids Bowl Free This Summer

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

This summer, kids can bowl free (2 games per person per day) at participating bowling centers through the Kids Bowl Free program. You’ll register at a bowling center near you and log in to your Kids Bowl Free account weekly to print your coupons.

When you sign up, you can also purchase a family pass for $24.95 that allows up to four adult family members to bowl 2 games per person per day throughout the summer, too. There are several participating Twin Cities area locations.

I think this deal sounds fantastic! I hope they continue to do this every summer because my son is only 11 months and can’t really bowl yet.

No such deal in Monticello, but last summer you could buy a card for $20 at the local bowling alley and get 2 games per day (+ shoe rental) all summer long. My pre-teen boys did this and it was a great deal. They will do it again this year if the offer is repeated.

Out of curiosity, when did those of you who DO bowl start your little ones bowling? We’ve got just the one son and no cousins close by to play with…he’ll be 3 in June and is built like a 4/5 year old (and is he STRONG…he can lift wooden child chairs OVER HIS HEAD…). Other than the typical pre-school “learning how to take turns” stuff, we were thinking that this might be a great way to try it out with him as a family activity (since they need several times before they “get” anything)…is he likely to be frustrated? Should we wait until next summer?

    Thanks!

      Nicole,
I have a 6 year boy that started out at 18 months. At that age he would be good for 6 to 10 frames before he got bored. He can do 2 to 3 games now and stay focused pretty well. One of the keys is if there is more than 4 of us going we get two lanes so that he doesn’t have to wait so long between turns. Also if the bowling alley has a ball ramp for them to put the ball on to push it down the lane instead of throwing that is most helpful until they learn how to throw it forward instead of behind them. He just started throwing his ball down the lane at 6. Also most alleys have special little kids balls that aren’t that heavy. I think they are either 6 or 7 pounds. I hope this helps you.

When you are on the website, be sure to click on the “view a list of all bowling centers”. When I first looked the list was pretty short, but when I clicked on the “view list” a bunch more bowling centers were included!!

Thanks Carrie for the heads up on this one. We did it last year and it was great! It does cut the cost if you have your own bowling shoes, I was able to borrow some from my parents, so we only have to rent shoes for the kids! Definitely a money saver if you bring your own shoes.

Looking forward to bowling again this year!

Andover Lanes in Andover has a special called Double Game A Day Pass. It includes 2 games, shoe rental and a pop every day for $30 a person. Really great value because of the shoes.
