Rainbow Foods, Copps, Pick N Save Shopping List 2/7–2/13/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

As always, Roundy’s stores will double the face value of up to 5 coupons on Wednesday when you meet all the other criteria I mention here and Rainbow Stores will also double coupons according the same rules on Saturday with this caveat:

Coupons that say “Do Not Double.” It has always been Roundy’s official policy that they do not double coupons that say “do not double.” On numerous occasions I had asked the cashiers and management at the store where I shop about that and was told that if the register doubles the coupon, then it could be doubled. In the last week Roundy’s corporate has asked the stores to stop accepting coupons that say “do not double.” I understand that last week some cashiers took “do not double” coupons and others did not. Personally, I will be forthright and ask this week about them, but will not plan on them doubling.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I cannot tell which printable coupons say “do not double” and which do not apart from printing them and I cannot always print every coupon (sometimes I have already printed it, etc.). That means 1) I will try, by process of observation, to note which coupons allow for doubling and which don’t (but I won’t ever learn them all), 2) I typed the list as if every coupon can be doubled (since I cannot tell from the databases I use which allow for doubling and which don’t), but 3) you will have to review the coupons cross-referenced on this list to confirm whether they can be doubled or not.

Buy $20 in select General Mills Products, Get $5 Gas Card Back Via Mail-in Rebate

Mail-in rebate form will print at the bottom of your receipt. In my opinion, many of these sale prices are $0.50 higher than what we routinely see. That to say, I’m not super excited for this deal because it is more work than a regular sale and works out to be about the same bottom line price. That said, I have included coupon matches for the sale items that are priced within a realm of reason, just in case you need something. General Mills coupons generally say “do not double.”

  1. Ann says:

Hrm.. just went to Rainbow and tried to do the $10 P&G gift card rebate deal..
The rebate form coupon printed out that said I had earned a $10 Visa by mail.. but when I got home and added up my P&G totals, I actually only reached 24.95!! (*without* a box of Puffs tissue. With the Puffs tissue, I reached 26.54 in P&G totals). I am a little confused.. earlier posts said the Puffs wasn’t included in the deal. Or something else happened. Bummer..

    • Kierstien says:

my understanding is that if the form printed out you get the rebate! so i would say you do qualify. and if you dont think you do i’d call the pg cust service and talk to them

      • Ann says:

Thanks!! :) I think I’m going to send it in first and hope for the best.. :) but keep a copy in case I want to talk to P&G.

  2. cashbaq kid says:

Sat morning, SLP Rainbow: Variety of pork, no Curly’s. The peppercorn pork wasn’t priced at $5.99/lb., so I didn’t buy it, but I was disappointed. I found four in the $9.70 range in other flavors, at the sale price, so I bought those. I was going to buy two that were about 70 cents cheaper, but realized since I was buying four, it’d discounted the two cheapest, no matter how I paired them up, so I determined I wanted all four in the same price range. I’m not going to another store today, but I have to wonder if there’s a Rainbow in the metro that has Curly’s in stock.

  3. Cecia says:

Plymouth 494/rockford Rainbow is out of yoplait smoothies and Pork FYI. I was told the truck was suppose to be there at 7am this morning but never arrived… I did my first transaction there and then just left because the pork was a huge part of my $25 threshold. I might try again later today.

  4. SarahBB says:

Awesome deals today– used Carrie’s P&G deal worked great–IAMS coupon works for any IAMS at Eagan store anyway. My Kelloggs deals went smoothly and got $1 off next order cat. from Kellogg deal too!

  5. SarahBB says:

Did I also read somewhere that someone reached a “transaction” limit and was prevented from doing more than 4 trans. at a Rainbow this week? Is that true? Let me say my hubs and I did a total of 6 today w/out problem.

  6. Teresa says:

I found limited amount of Curly’s this morning at Richfield Rainbow (i got the last pulled beef and there were a limited amount of pulled pork).

  7. mary says:

The Rainbow on Arcade in St. Paul also would not let me use two coupons on the pork and the self-check out “assistant’ was very rude about it. Since there’s been a lot of talk about cashiers on thread, I’ll comment on the ones there – if you expect your cashiers to have a basic understanding of math (as in there are 16 ounces in a pound), avoid this Rainbow.

  8. Sandra says:

my cat food coupon 2/7 p&G is a $3.00 & $1.00 coupon no $5.00 coupon is this only certain areas? Im in Maple Grove

  9. peter says:

Anyone know if the Kelloggs deal is still going today, Saturday? I know it was still good on Wednesday, but I think that may have been the last day. Anyone know for sure? It is not worth the trip for me if that one has expired.

  10. erica e says:

I love the AV Rainbow…I made a early shopping trip this morning and it was so peaceful. I wish I had clipped extra yogurt coupons because they have Danimals 2 for 4. And mine where expired in my binder…but I had over a 60 dollar savings.

They have some Venus razors clearanced I did not have any clipped.

Morning star is 2 for 7

Happy Doubling because I’m done until Next week:)

Also Kuners black beans are 99 cents and in the startribune from sunday they had a coupon buy 2 get 1 free. So I used that. And I thought the Kraft deal with a Catalina was still going on so I brought an extra cheese but bummer it wasn’t. Well we eat a lot of cheese.

  11. erica e says:

Peter the deal is still going on for the kellogs products.

  12. Kierstien says:

Had a GREAT RAINBOW trip today! It went so smoothly too. I paid $2.58oop and recieved a $4 cat for my next order!
I got 6boxes of cereal (honeysmacks x3, frootloopsx2 and frosted miniwheats) used $1/3cpn and $1.50/2
4boxes razoni pasta used two $1/2 cpn
    2boxes nutrigrain bars *used $1/2cpn
2gold bond hand sanitizers *used $4 off two cpn from rainbow ad a few weeks ago (i kept a few!)
danimals yogurt (my daughter Loves this stuff! on sale next week too!) $1/1 cpn
    total came to $2.58

the cashier was a very nice guy he scanned all my cpns the only one he dbl checked was the gold bond one which i knew he was going to but it said NOTHING about size restrictions so SCORE!

Okay I now have a TON of cereal at home!!! Like almost 30boxes but we eat it and all that cereal has cost me under $5 so not complaining at ALL when i spend under .20 for each box of cereal!

  13. Cari says:

The johnsonville summer sausage coupon said you had to buy 2 to get the deal although the PYD just indicated one… I think?!? Anyhow, I didn’t think it was a great deal if I had to buy 2 of them so I didn’t… Just wondered if I figured that one out correctly or not?!

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Cari – You are right. I looked the coupon again in the database I use and noticed that there is a $1/1 JOhnsonville, but it is Summer Sausage. I misread the list and made a typo. Sorry for the confusion.

  14. Jodi says:

Yesterday, my StarTrib Sunday paper had only one coupon insert (Red Plum). Should there also be a SmartSource? I live in Woodbury. Hey – I have to say that I love this site!! Thanks for the help.

  15. Jodi says:

    Thanks, Laura!

  16. Mary says:

I don’t live anywhere near a Rainbow/Pick and Save but was visiting my family in WI and stopped by for the Kelloggs cereal deal. I bought 6 varieties of Frosted Mini Wheats and 2 Apple Jacks. Received the $10 off, another $6.50 in coupons and paid $3.50. Maybe if I had managed to get there on Sat. I would have gotten them free, but I don’t know if they double coupons over $1.00.

  17. Sandra says:

anyone know when this site will update for deals & or deal Ideas for this week 02/14 -2/20/2010
