Get in on the General Mills cereal promotion this week, free Land O Lakes spread and free Del Monte fruit cups. To maximize your savings you’ll need the right coupons and need to shop on Wednesday (and/or Saturday at Rainbow Foods) to have the face value of your coupons doubled. Please take a minute and read the rules for doubling coupons.
I cannot tell which printable coupons say “do not double” and which do not apart from printing them and I cannot always print every coupon (sometimes I have already printed it, etc.). That means you’ll need to review the coupons cross-referenced on this list to confirm whether they can be doubled or not.

When it says at full price does that mean before coupons? I know the gas card was not printing because of coupons so how do we know? Thanks for the list.
In my experience it is regular shelf price before coupons. So you buy six and the register will immediately take of $10. Then you hand them your 6 coupons (hopefully you can print 6 at $1 each!) and this will take off another $11. The milk and egg coupon should print with your receipt – and if not I would take a copy of the ad to Customer Service.
A few things: The DelMonte fruit chillers is saying expired so I can’t print. And I thought there was a $1/1 Angel Soft printable floating out there somewhere… can’t remember where I printed mine but I did last week? Totally wishing I could print more of the $1/1 GM Kid’s Cereal coupons… I printed 4 already for the last promotion and have used up my allowed prints (2 per computer). Boo!
Also, I can’t find the Del Monte fruit chillers coupon that was supposed to be in the paper 2/7 either. Did some of you get it?
Jenn, I have a couple of Angel soft coupons for $1 off that I printed off line. I can’t tell you exactly where I found them, but it says http://www.coupons.com on the side, and they expire 3/31. I wonder if they could be found by using couponmom.com in the search feature?
There’s a $.50 Angel Soft in the 2/14 Red Plum insert if that helps. I had some Angel Soft printables for $1 but I got them weeks ago.
Purex is a better deal at Walgreens this week
Use the BOGO coupon from this Sunday which will equal 2 for 2.99, making it roughly 1.50 each bottle
I heard Purex was on sale at Byerly’s for 2.99 also. And, it would count towards the $10 needed to get the weekly web special- this week a Barilla frozen meal for 1.99 (plus any Qs you have).
I can’t print bricks coupons without going on high speed and we still have dial up. :-) Once in awhile I can pick up a connection but it sometimes drops and a couple of the coupons I was printing…Chinet, Gortons only gave me one….wish more were at coupons.com as they print perfectly and at least get two!
I bought Chi Chi’s salsa the other day at Rainbow in Maple Grove. There was a coupon machine printing out $1/2 right next to the Salsa. It may have said not to double but my experience has been that most of the time the cashier allows it to go through/doesn’t notice or care.
I have been unable to print any of the online Cheerios coupons. They are either out or say I already printed my allowance, but I haven’t printed any. Frustrating.
I was wondering that same thing…
Does anyone know how much the cereal usually costs per box?
Thanks
Kierstien, the GM ceareals run between $2.89 to 3.49 per box for the 12 – 15 oz boxes depending on which type of cereal you get.
Thanks! This will help me out immensly!!! I swore I wasnt going to buy cereal this week but if i can find the right q’s it’ll be silly not to since the eggs and milk free are awesome!!! looks like my foodshelf may be getting some cereal from me this week!
I was thinking the same thing! I have plenty of cereal in the cupboard but maybe I’ll get a few NEW boxes – especially if they will be close to free if I can get $21 off – and then clean out the cupboards for the food shelf and get myself some free eggs and milk!
Also remember that some cereals make great dessert bars – and Chex can be used in all sorts of snack mixes (my favorite being “puppy chow” with the powdered sugar on it mmmmm!)
The Chocolate Cheerios make GREAT adult puppy chow, substituting melted dark chocolate and spicy cocoa mix for the powdered sugar and melted chocolate. Add dried cherries or berries and pecans. I got lots of compliments on this over the holidays.
Oops, got my cereals mixed up! I meant to say the Chocolate Chex mix…but I bet the Cheerios would be good too! :)
I can’t find the fruit coupons in the 2/7 coupons. Is that the right date…I have looked 2x.
Thanks all
I couldn’t find this coupon either.
My 2/7 RP had a Del Monte coupon that said Save $1 WYB 5 canned fruits, vegetables or Fruit Cup Snacks (plastic 4packs) – there was a big tomato on the page. Just not sure if this works for the chillers.
Kierstien, one more thing. I find that the various types of cheerios tend to be the lower priced options. :-)
okay thanks! i love cheerios! multigrain are my fav i am sure they’re a little more.
no prints available for original cheerios
also, i’ve never printed the purex coupon, but it’s telling me i’ve hit my limit…?
I got the same message, but will try tomorrow, just in case.
I also got “no prints available” when I went to the Original Cheerios link.
I think the fruit snacks are about $2.50 or $2.60 a box at regular price.
The $1 printable coupon you list above for Original Cheerios is no longer available.
Alright my recon Rainbow shoppers – If anyone does ‘recon’ and happens to notice if the Fruity Cheerios are included as one of the select cereals can you please let us know? My kids adore fruity cheerios as their “treat” cereal but they seem to never be included in any sales. Since there are coupons out there for them, I’ve very hopeful. Thanks for anyone that might notice.
Will the full cereal price count towards the $25 threshhold for double coupons?, or will they count the amount actually paid after they take off the $10?
The full cereal price counts toward the $25 – at least that has always been my experience. The subtotal would then be about $15, before coupons. Cashiers have often told me then that my coupons won’t double, but they always have.
Should be full price that counts towards your $25 since it says ‘Buy 6 at regular price and get $10 off’
There’s a $1/4 coupon at oldorchardjuice.com. I just printed two yesterday. Price after doubled coupon is 75 cents each (4 for $3).
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! Kirsten, you are my hero! We drink Old Orchard Apple Cherry like it’s water around my house, especially with all the colds and ear infections we’ve had this winter, and I am SO SO SO happy to have more coupons for it! Thank you!
I stopped in my local Rainbow yesterday and saw the following deals:
Scotties Tissues at .99 a box I think it said Unadvertised Special, but it was a large display, so it definitely wasn’t clearance. And just yesterday I received an email for .50 off one box, so it’ll be free tomorrow (assuming it doubles). I just checked and anyone can get a coupon immediately (with quick registration) at http://www.scottiespromotions.com/. or order from coupon site.
The second unadvertised sale I saw was small sirloin steaks at about $2 per package. 3 steaks fed our 4 adults, with enough left for a lunch today. I made them with baby bella mushrooms from Aldi’s at 1.99 box, Dale’s seasoning sauce (http://www.dalesseasoning.com/) – makes steak immediately tender and delicious- and some red wine (Trader Joe’s – The Happiness Project 5.99 a bottle.)
what size was the box of tissues?
Does anyone know if I can use a Rainbow “tape” issued q (the ones that the cashiers hand you with your receipt) that says manu on top but has the Rainbow logo AND a regular manu q for the same item?
No, you can’t. These are actually manufacturer’s coupons and not store coupons. Because they are manu. coupons they will double, though. Hope that helps!
For the Red Barron Pizzas, if the Singles Deep Dish is included for that price, there was a $1/1 printable coupon mentioned a while back on this site, which would bring the price down to $1.33 after doubled coupon.
Is Fiber One included in the sale cereal – there are coupons for $.75/1 box at coupons.com? Would that work?
Yes, Fiber One is included. Price is 4.19 for a small box I think.
I have found Target’s regular price on Fiber One is $3 something..$3.23 or $3.43. I”ll have to re-check this next time I go. But I remember doing the math one day and realizing it’s a better deal to use my coupon at Target and save the double spot (since you only get to double 5) for something else at Rainbow.
Same with Chex. At Target regular price is $2.04.
Okay, I’m going to attempt a Rainbow run tomorrow night after work and I want to make sure my plan will work. So this is what I’m planning to do:
One transaction will be the GM promotion of $10 off 6 boxes of cereal and the fruit snacks with the $4 off next purchase. Will the total be minus the $10 so I’ll have to make sure I have $10 more before my coupons double? And I won’t be able to double all of the coupons because there will be more than five. So when I do my next transaction, can I use the milk and egg coupon and the $4 off from the fruit snacks? I don’t have to actually wait until I come again?
I hope it works out how I envision it going.
Thanks.
The $10 GM should be treated like a coupon at the register….so you won’t have to add an extra $10 to your purchase to hit the $25 threshhold. You should be able to use the milk, egg, and $4 off your very next transaction. I think Carrie does that all the time. Good luck!
Kimm – Yes, I use the coupons for free milk and eggs on my very next transaction. And, in my experience, the full price of the cereals counts toward $25.
Today at the Forest Lake Rainbow, I bought my 6 boxes of cereal at full price (which came to around $21) plus a few other items that put me over $25, the register took off the $10 immediately, so my total was only $18. So I had to go and find more items before they would let me double my q’s. Last time they had this deal, the $10 came off like a coupon at the end.
Linda – Your plan sounds good to me. Yes, you can use the egg and milk coupons on the very next purchase that same day.
So this is my 2nd week on PYD and tomorrow will be my 2nd trip ever to Rainbow for the double Qs.
Question – Can I split my order at the checkout & do more than one qualifying $25 purchase in order to get the double Q deal twice or three times?
Yes, you can split your transactions. A good rule of thumb is to do no more than 2 at a time (going to your car in between to deposit your groceries, then coming back in). Additionally, many PYD’ers will suggest that you be respectful doing multiple transactions when the store is really busy.
Yes I do this the most i have ever done at one time was 3 (but they were all very small transactions) I ALWAYS ask my cashier if its okay if i do more then one transaction :-) she always smiles and says yes ( i go to same cashier every week)
Many of the coupons I am printing for the GM cereals say “do not double or triple” on top. Will they double those at Rainbow? If not, does it still work out to a great deal without the doubling?
I am finding the same thing. The printable for Kid’s Cereals and Total both say DND. The Cheerios and Chex in the 2/21SS look like they will though.
I did this deal today w/ 2 of the kids’ cereal coupons that said “DND” and they doubled anyway.
Almost all of the online cereal coupons say “do not double.” I know some people have said that the cashiers will double them anyways. Does anyone shop at the Shoreview location or in Minneapolis by The Quarry? What has their experience been with “do not double” coupons doubling or not??
I shop at the Quarry and they’ve always doubled my DND’s. I hope they haven’t changed that b/c I’m counting on my coupons doubling tomorrow :)
I usually shop at Shorview. I have never had a problem there. I accually use to work at Rainbow when I was younger and I now that Service Manager there. She is really nice and has helped me if there was a problem with my order. Her name is Jenny and normally work on Wednesdays evennings. I normally go in the evenning but I did a transaction this morning and it went just fine.
Has anyone compared the Rainbow GM deal with the Cub Foods GM Catalina deal to see which saves the most money?
This is so embarrassing, but I used my eggs and milk on my next transaction, and my total was -$.27. LOL…I didn’t know what to do, but the Rainbow cashier just said that when the $.27 came out of the change machine that she had to keep it, which was fine by me. :)
i would’ve grabbed a candy bar ;)
When that happened to me I said just let me grab a pack of gum, but by that time she had called the head cashier and they refused to let me get another item to get over the $0 amount, so I basically lost .89 cents. I would have taken the gum. Bygones.
oh thats not right!!! that was your left over cents!!! i love my rainbow glad i am becoming “friends” with the cashiers! i know they’d tell me to go grab something quick!! lol. oh well you’ll know next time
They have snickers/mars candy bars 4/2.00 and in the Sunday Pioneer Press this weekend there were coupons for .50 cents off 2 making them free after doubling or .25 cents each.
Stilll cant find the del monte fruit chillers coupon any help. Since Kari couldn’t find one either can someone help?
Thanks
Hmmm…I couldn’t find it either. Is the printable coupon working for you?
I couldn’t find it at first, either, but once I put in my zip code, 55432, it showed up.
Oops — I guess it says that it is expired.
The coupon in my 2/7RP says 4pack fruit cups. Not sure if it applies to the Chillers.
I noticed in the rainbow ad that the fruit cups are also on sale 2/4 so if you used the $1/1 cpn it would still be free!!
Laura,
No the printable one indicates it is expired? I got one printed but now it doesn’t print.
Fresh Express Salad Q
http://www.freshexperssartisians.com
$1.50/1 printable coupon
The link is spelled wrong it is actually http://www.freshexpressartisans.com
It is a PDF coupons, expires at the end of the year 2010. Awesome find Barb, thanks!
For those of you wanting to get a Q for the Del Monte chillers, there is a printable available on the Del Monte website for $1 off. Even if you are already registered, it still let me print it, and it does NOT say DND. Hope that helps!! :) Here is the link. http://www.delmontefruitchillers.com/couponlanding/?gclid=CILwpp7miaACFQUMDQod2Xxmdg
If I buy 12 GM cereals, will I get $20 off my next order and 2 free milks & eggs????
Erin, I don’t know, but I’d do two separate transactions.
Agreed. In my experience, the deal will only work once per transaction.
the sheads spread is closer to $3.79 each not $2.79
Does anyone know if Wheaties is included as a cereal in the General Mills deal this week? It is not pictured in the add but Carrie has a link to it’s coupon on here.
Yes! Wheaties is included, and so was the Fruity and the Chocolate Cherrios.
Thank you!
the snickers Q is in red plum…
The Nabisco Crackerfuls Q says DND/DNT. But if you cut off the corner where it says that, it might still work. I’ll let you know tomorrow.
Amy I would not alter the coupons at all because the manuf may not accept the coupon from the store therefore them being out money. So if you want to try and double it I would try w/out altering the cpn!
JMO
Any – I agree with Kierstien I would not alter the coupon. If it starts with a little 5 it should double automatically but then you are at the mercy of your cashier/store with how they handle the doubles. I personally have never had a problem with these but as you’ve probably noticed some do depending on week/coupons/cashier.
We all try to stick to Carries policy of being good couponers out here and in my opinion that’s not completely ‘coupon ethical’ (no offense meant on any personal basis). It falls in the realm of trying to photocopy coupons which shouldn’t be done as it hurts all of us in the long run.
Just my 2 cents on this, I’d give it a whirl as a double first vs altering.
I used 3 of the Crackerful coupons and they all doubled without a problem. I was at the Maple Grove Rainbow.
Angela-
Yes when I was there today Wheaties in 2 sizes were marked as included in the deal. I was there checking prices and cereal included for a trip tomorrow
My Coborn’s weekly ad has a Buy 10, get 5 free coupon in it. It is a manufacturer’s coupon (and Coborn’s is not mentioned on it anywhere), so I am assuming Rainbow will take it. If so, the Powerade is on sale for .89 this week so you would get 15 for .59 each.
I guess there is a better Powerade deal at Cub – 52 cents each when you buy 15 in the coupon booklet found in the store.
Rainbow in Riverdale, Coon Rapids has a $2.00 off 2 of the Angel Soft on sale. The coupons are on pads lying by the t.p, saving an add’l $1.00 off each package
I just have a minute, but wanted to answer a couple questions that were asked above. I shopped this morning at the Quarry.
Fruity Cheerios WERE included in the deal.
DND coupons DID double still!!
Happy Shopping Everyone!
Thank you! Fruity cheerios children will be very happy.
Would it be possible to do the cereal deal in one transaction and the milk & eggs in the next – using the B1G1 free coupon (from becoming a Facebook fan of eggs), thereby giving you two free eggs?
Cara, you can do the cereal deal in one transaction and the milk/eggs in the next, but Rainbow will not accept your B1G1 free eggs coupon because it’s an Internet coupon for a free product.
My rainbow accepted my BOGO eggs coupon without any problem. I think they wont’ accept ones that are for a totally free item vs. a BOGO. At least today it worked just fine.
–ruth
Good to know, thanks Laura & Ruth. I’ll just have to give it a try and hope for the best or ask at customer service first.
I did the General Mills deal, then the Hormel Deal, then some odds and ends this morning.
General Mills – The $10 was deducted right from the total. All $1 Do Not Double coupons doubles. I received 2 catalina coupons – 1) $3.50 on milk, 1) $1.75 on eggs. I also got a $2/5 GM cereals catalina. Also of note, there were 3 sizes of most cereals that were included in the buy 6 deal. Prices I saw ranged from $2.99 – $3.79 – $4.??
On a separate buy, I included 2 gallon of Rainbow Milk @1.98 and the full value of the $3.50 Catalina Milk was used. I bought 1 doz egss @ $.99 and the full $175 value was used.
Hormel – The ribs were @$3.99/lb and the packages were piced from $9 – $12 per rack. I used the Hormel Always Tender any pork product $1 coupon and it doubled. The coupon actually shows a pork tenderloin, but is written to include any Hormel pork product.
Hope this answers any questions you may have.
Thanks Robby – your post helped me tremendously!
I did the Hormel deal at Riverdale this morning and it did not generate a $5 off certificate. I went to the C.S and she asked me to grab one of the items and the first thing I saw was the Pepperoni….she rung it up over and again until it registered over $20 and nothing printed for her either…turns out the Pepperoni was the culprit. I pulled out the Ribs and she was able to print me the $5 off. I was expecting a Catalina, but it actually prints on the bottom of the receipt.
BTW- The Ribs were betwwen $9.10 and up towards the high $13′s. Seemed like alot, but not bad for a good meal. Total oop $8 for ribs, 2 cans beans, 2 salsa’s and the Pepperoni.
On another transactoin I bought 20 Light and Fit yogurts and had two $1 cpns when you bought 10. Looking over my receipt now, I see the $1 off for each coupon, but only 0.58 for each of the mutiplied coupons. Any ideas?
This seems odd to me. If you bought 20 yogurts I think the coupons should have doubled fully to $2 each. Did you use 3 other coupons for other items? Perhaps one of them was $1.58 shelf price.
I did use 3 other coupons…they were fine and all had shelf prices above $1.58. I just might have to ask Rainbow about it…..and it’s a total of 84 cents that could have been in my pocket! :)
The Barilla Plus Pasta was not included in the 25% off sale, so those pasta were more than $2 a box.
I went through the line three times today doing two transactions at a time. On the first two trips I went to the same young guy (Rainbow at EP) and the first time he looked at the ad in the flyer for the Barilla pasta and gave me the 25% off without question. (Plus I had several of the $1/2 coupons that expire 3/1.) But the third time I went to check out his register was very busy so I went to another line. And that cashier was adament that the Barilla Plus was NOT included and he called over the supervisor and she concurred with him. So I still had double coupons, but without the 25% additional discount. (Still, at $1.29 per box it was a good deal for Barilla Plus, and I wanted to use the q’s before they expired.) I guess I’ll learn to wait in the longer line next time and go to the same cashier! And it never hurts to ask. (THANK YOU to whoever left the two additional coupons on the shelf. I used them.)
my cereal coupons did not double… cashier said they couldn’t do it anymore.(Chaska Location) and she punched them in manually. Sort of a bummer that it really matters which cashier you choose. Still a good deal though.
caprisun is 2/4 and there was a coupon on the kraft page (during the superbowl, same one as we are stacking for target) $1/1, doubled make them free.
I had the same thing happen to me at the Rainbow in Maple Grove today. The woman said that they could not double any coupons that said Do Not Double…so all of my cereal coupons weren’t doubled. :( I went back later and went to a different cashier and that time they did double my other coupons (that also said do not double), so I guess it totally depends who you get as a cashier. I thought of going to the Customer Service desk and asking about it, but I really didn’t want to have them then strictly apply the Do Not Double rule, so I didn’t. I guess I’ll just know who to avoid next time.
The cashier I went to today at the Roseville Rainbow told me that he is not supposed to double any coupons with “do not double” on them, but he still doubled most of them for me (4 out of 6 he left as $1 coupons that doubled, the other two he did a manual override and changed the price from $1 to $0.50).
1st time I’ve seriously tried this & it was awesome — thanks!!!
I had a Yoplait Greek Yogurt coupon from Sunday’s paper for $1 off 3. They were $1.09 each but I doubled the coupon so they ended up being 40ish each. Pretty good for the pricier yogurt.
My cereal coupon doubled w/o issue (Chex cereal @ Eagan).
The hormel deal is on the sale price, not the shelf price. I ended up a dollar short because of it, but the helpful cashier added it up for me and said to go to customer service and get another item. They rung it until it printed the coupon and then they got rid of all but the one i needed. The coupon is on the receipt, not a catalina.
Clearasil pads are on sale this week at Rainbow for $2.39 (regular price is $4.??) I also had a $1.50 off coupon. Sorry, I’m not sure when it’s from but it was definatly a Sunday coupon rather than something printed. Got it for just 89cents :)
