Mark Your Calendars: Pocket Your Dollars’ Meet & Greet

At the start of the year I asked you to help set goals for Pocket Your Dollars in 2010. One thing that came through loud and clear was a broad interest in having some real life opportunities to meet and interact with another. As a result, we are hosting the first-ever Pocket Your Dollars Meet & Greet event on Tuesday March 30 from 7pm-9pm in Brooklyn Park, MN. (More details to come next week)

Did I say, this will be a free event, but space is limited. Next week we’ll have an official sign-up and the first 100 registrants will get a spot. Right now, I want you to clear your calendar and get things in place so you you can be there.

What can you expect from the Meet & Greet?

— If the name doesn’t say it, you’ll get to meet the Pocket Your Dollars team, including me and Laura, and each other. We may also have a surprise guest or two (keep your fingers crossed for that!)

— I (Carrie) will share an inspiring message about the power of giving back and taking your eyes off yourself

— We’ll share with you some ways to save on groceries without using coupons

— You’ll get in on the ground floor of some exciting new things that are coming to Pocket Your Dollars

— Everyone will get some free gifts and some lucky folks will win prizes

Doesn’t this sound like a ton of fun? Your job now is to make space on your calendar to come and then get ready to RSVP next week when we open up registration.

Only the first 100 people? Carrie and Laura, you have hundreds–if not thousands–of fans. Can you please open this up to more people? I plan to take off of work that evening and drive from Eagan to be there! Can’t wait!

  7. Sarah says:

Sounds fantastic, fingers crossed that I can line up a babysitter :)

  8. julie says:

Sounds like great fun. I hope I get in. I think even you will be amazed at the number of people that want to get in. My guess the demand will be many times great than the supply.

  9. Kierstien says:

OH this will be great!!! But i am guessing it’ll fill up within minutes of being open!!! hope i can get in ;)

  10. Dime Time says:

I assume many people will not be able to make it due to family obligations, etc., but I too suspect there will be far more than 100 people who want to attend.

    • Carrie Rocha says:

I hope it does fill up, because if we see that there’s an interest we can do this again. For my own sanity, as coordinator of the event, 100 people is a good start. We should have freebies for everyone, snacks, and an opportunity to make a connection with nearly everyone. Seeing the interest in this post makes me think we might do a lottery versus the first registrants. Stay tuned for more details next week.

      • Kierstien says:

Carrie; You are under estimating the head count as you know…may i suggest you open up the venue by taking volunteers to assist you in your hostessing duties thereby freeing you up to attend to the more important aspects of this event. Just a suggestion
