True story about Jennie-O ground turkey. We almost exclusively eat ground turkey and Jennie-O turkey, at that. A few weeks back I had a little wiggle room in my grocery budget and spotted Jennie-O ground turkey for $0.33/lb. I did what came naturally and bought a ton of it (yes, 33 pounds of ground turkey that I got for under $11). I pre-formed 9 pounds of the higher fat meat (80% lean) into burger patties. They’re easy to defrost in the microwave and plop onto the George Forman. I browned 12 pounds with onions and froze in 1.5 pound portions for tacos, spaghetti, casseroles and the like. I made the last 12 pounds into these Fast and Friendly Meatballs, which we’ve already had twice. Once with mashed potatoes and brown gravy and again as a stroganoff over noodles. All that to say, yes, I think I can put this $5 rebate to good use.
Final thought on Jennie-O products. I had to picture turkey bacon since there was a season in life where I ate Jennie-O turkey bacon like it was going out of style. My college roommate Kristine can vouch for that, since she hated the smell of it as it cooked. This picture’s for you Kristine :)

We also prefer Turkey to beef for Tacos, Hamburger Helper, Burgers and especially Chili. Thanks to your info, I was able to get the same deal…30 lbs of ground turkey for $9.90. I spent several hours making burger patties, meatballs and browned some and then froze them all. I also made a Turkey meatloaf for the 1st time and that was a big hit. We are set for turkey for a while.

I have never tried the ground turkey in tacos…can you taste a difference? It’s certainly bound to be healthier.

I got a 3lb chub of ground turkey on sale at Cashwise for $5.04 tonight and have my rebate ready to send in on Monday. :) This will come in handy since my hubby and I are working the 6 week body makeover right now. I looked at the info on turkey bacon. I was really shocked to see that a serving size is only 1 strip of bacon! UGH. lol
Cherie – Yeah, I’ve eaten enough servings of it for…well…many small-sized towns around here. I kicked the turkey bacon habit when I got married though because my husband absolutely cannot stand the smell of it :)

Are you sure that this is for the first 25,000 to register? I went to register today and when I went to print the rebate it says about first 25,000 redemptions. So I am curious because I don’t want to waste my time and money if this rebate is possibly already reached its limit. Whats your thoughts – am I reading this wrong?
Are all the rebate forms taken? I can seem to get one to print up.
