Although there aren’t tons of sales, there are some items at rock bottom prices. The chicken quarters are my favorite item this week. Perfect for making homemade soup.
You’ll notice that some of the coupons mentioned in this list are expired. That is because Cub stores accept coupons up to 3 months past their expiration date (and in some cases up to 5 or 6 months past). Thanks, Shannon! I’ve updated the list to reflect this.
So quick this week; you’re a rock star ;)
Thanks for ALL you do!
For the boneless chicken breast–is it sold in a 3 lb bag, or did you write the price incorrectly? Thanks!
Good catch. Thanks! I’ve made the switch.
Is the chicken breasts a good price at $1.66 a pound, or can you get them cheaper?
Cub had chicken breasts on sale at $.99/lb, but that was a few months ago. $1.66/lb is the best I’ve seen in a while.
when cub gives out there little coupon books can you use them after they expire or just manu coupons?
Jenny, it’s just manufacturer coupons that Cub will take after the expiration date.
Awesome deal alert!! I went into the maple grove Cub this morning (Mon) and 3 lb tubes of Jennie-O ground turkey were marked down to $0.99 per package (or $0.33/lb). I got A LOT of turkey (90% and 85% lean). I’ll brown a bunch with onions and freeze it in 1-lb portions. I will make some meatloaves and freeze them. I will make italian meatballs that are good for quick dinner. I’ll form the 85% lean into burger patties, freeze them on a cookie sheet them transfer them into a ziploc for a quick turkey burger dinner on the George Forman. Plus, I was thinking ahead to my daughter’s birthday in about 7 weeks. I will serve the guests sloppy joes using a bunch of this meat. It needs to be eaten or frozen by tomorrow (2/9). I guess I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow all day! Cooking ground turkey.
You can always throw it in a crockpot. It won’t be brown but when you reheat it you can brown it up then.
I checked my Cub in MW and they had about 50 of these 3lb ground turkey tubes with an exp date of 2/11. There was no price so I did a price check and they were $7 something a piece. I asked if they were going to be marked down and they did not know. I may have to check back.
Katie – I’d call first thing in the morning, since tomorrow is the 11th, and ask what they plan to do with them. You can tell them that you had heard other stores were marking them down to $0.99 each.
Well I was able to make it back to Cub today just to check on the turkey. Sure enough they had about 30 of the 3lb ground turkey tubes that expired yesterday the 11th. I brought 1 up to customer service and had it price checked and it came up to $7.59. I told her about other Cubs selling it for $.99 since it was expired. She called back to the meat dept. and they said to go ahead. I said I wanted 10 of them and he brought them up to the service counter for me. But, get this, he said to give him the expired one and take these….they were dated Feb 14th!!!!! I got 30 lbs of unexpired ground turkey for $9.90.
WOW katie go you!
I didn’t find any Nabisco crackers at Cub for $1.99 they were $2.99. Did I miss something?
I got that Awesome 3lb ground turkey deal. Woo Hoo. I also found the Fisher Sunflower seeds in the snack isle that are a .99. Someone had mentioned this before, but I hadn’t looked yet. I probably have 10 $1 coupons so I used my expired ones since I was at cub. My husband will love to take them ice fishing.
They also had the super ripe banana bags for .99. Time to go make lots of banana bread and freeze the rest for smoothies.
Where are the fisher coupons from? Do they have to be greater than 4 oz? How big are the sunflower seed packets?
I think I printed mine from either smartsource.com or coupons.com a while ago. If you look through Carries printable coupon roundups you’ll probably find a link if the coupons are stil available. The sunflower seed packets I purchases wer about 5 oz, and the coupons worked with no problem! Woo-hoo – free sunflower seeds!
i got mine all from inserts
Carrie,
What a great price. I wonder if other Cubs have the same mark-downs?
Man I was just at cub yesterday and didnt look at the meat :( hmm maybe ill have to go out today not sure if i want to in this weather.
Thanks for the sunflower seed reminder I have about 10cpns too I should really go. Is this for the inshell sunflower seeds? Thanks!
Yes, dry roasted inshell in snack section. :)
I saw Cub has solar salt pellets (40 lb. bag) for $3.79. Any opinions if this is a “rock bottom” price or if it might go lower yet. I don’t need it but want to stock up for when I do. Thanks :)
I think that’s a good price. Rainbow had a deal last week with the morton salt for 5/$20 which works out to $4 each. I had a $1/2 coupon so I got it for $3.5 a bag which I thought was really good. I don’t buy it that often though so I’m not sure if it’s a rock-bottom price.
I have a question on the Del monte vegetables .99 cents if you buy 5 is $4.95 after $1.00 coupon is $3.95 or $.79 cents each after coupon not $.49 cents each . What I’m missing ?
thanks
Sofi, after the $1.00 coupon it is $0.79 each, but then if you take into account the $1.50 coupon off your next order that prints when you purchase 5 cans, it works out to $0.49 each. Does that make sense?
yes , it does thanks for the explanation Laura
Also the voila meals are on sale for $4.49 use the $1/1 from the sunday paper=$3.49
Simply Asia noodles are about .80 regularly plus use the .50/1=.30
Could not find the coupons in either of the smartsource ads for the mccain potatoes
Does anyone know if CUB will accept expired walgreens register rewards, or was that a thing of the past???
my cub in lakeville still accepts RR. i always ask the costumer service desk when i get to cub then do my shopping and 9/10 times i have a cashier that says these are for walgreens and i smile and nicely say you guys accept them because they are manufacture coupons i asked the manager and usually they call the manager over and before she even gets all the way over she sees me and says Yes its fine! And shows the cashier how/why they accept them. HTH! I have heard only corp owned stores accept them not private owned ones.
that’s what i was told at the cub in st. louis park, corporate-owned accept them, and SLP is privately owned, which means they won’t. who has a list of the corporate stores?
I have an expired $10 RR and was wondering the same thing! If Lakeville takes them it might be worth the trip if they’ll accept mine that expired on 2/2/10. Have you ever tried using one past it’s expiration date?
Yes I have and they accept them just like any manuf cpn. What I did at lakeville cub before i left the house (i’d do this if your making a spec trip) ask to speak to manager and ask them if they accept manuf cpn with other logo (wags) they told me YES when i got there I doubled checked AGAIN w/manager and she looked and said YES! So when I got to checkout the cashier said mam’ this is for wags i said you guys take them i talked to the manager (one lady had the mngr come over and a diff cashier scanned it and said OH we do accept them) so yes they do i used them SUPER BOWL sunday at lakeville rainbow on dodd/cedar. HTH!
I hit the Cub in Grand Rapids yesterday morning & they had their seasoned chicken (use or freeze by today) on sale for $0.79/lb. Got 2 boneless skinless breasts, one boneless skinless thigh & one drumsticks. (Drummies weren’t rock bottom price, but the SO loves them.) Rethought it when I was going to checkout, and of course when I went back to produce they were cleaned out. Wish I had gotten the ground turkey deal!
Totally new here do all Cub stores take expired coupons? I live in WI Baraboo and would have to go to Madison about 45 min away so just wondering if anyone knew for sure? Thanks! This is a great site its nice to find one that has a store that is around me not 3 hours away.
I just had to tell you about my oatmeal. I went to Cub last Saturday with my coupon booklet coupon for ‘Buy 5 Quaker products for $1.39 each’. They were out of the flavor of oatmeal that my kids like so I had it rainchecked. Imagine my delight when on Sunday I opened the newspaper to see $1 off one box of Quaker Oatmeal. I mananged to get 4 more (actually, I got 7 and will save the other 3 for Rainbow) and today I got 5 oatmeals for $1.95. The regular price is $3.49 each!
Awesome Sarah! Thanks for sharing.
For you Prego lovers…when I went to Cub this week they had a catalina for $1 when you buy 3 Prego jar sauces. So I used the $.50/2 coupons with it. The jars were $1.99 a piece. Not rock bottom but my family loves Prego.
I was just at Cub today and saw the generic diapers for $7.99 ($2.00 off) plus I had four $4/1 diapers. I thought it was a pretty good deal :) The coupon does say that you have to have a $7 purchase to use the coupon.
Sarah,
I just moved to MN from Madison–and I know they are privately owned (I get their coupons when we are in town for Badger games, as they have better deals than we do–especially on milk). I know the Cub on the East side used to take them, but I would call first as it might be a corporate policy.
Go Badgers!
