Carrie’s Coupon Insert Picks from 2/14/10 Sunday Paper

coupons too

You likely got one lonely insert in this weekend’s paper, a Red Plum. I highlight the coupons I think are unique or likely to turn into freebies. This list is based on the coupons I received in a home delivered Star Tribune. Coupons in your paper might vary and understand why by reading 4 reasons your paper may have different coupons than your neighbor’s. Coupons are organized alphabetically within each category.

If you’re new to couponing, read through my picks from previous weeks to hear my thoughts on the best coupons out there.

If you want more copies of these coupons ask friends, neighbors, co-workers, or even restaurants, coffee shops or libraries for their unused copies. You can also order the specific coupons you want from The Coupon Clippers.

Your turn: Which coupons do you think will turn into a freebie or rock bottom-priced item?

Everyday, Regular Priced Items

Buy the following products with a coupon from this weekend’s paper at their everyday price and you’ll get a great deal or maybe even a freebie.

Renuzit Crystal Elements. Buy one, get one free.

Sale Priced Items

If these products go on sale before the coupon expires you should get a rock bottom price or maybe even a freebie. Look through the coupons on the “coupons doubled in value” list below as well, since they could be included here too.

Aussie. This week at CVS you can get a free bottle of hair product after this coupon and Extra Care Bucks.

Bertolli. $0.75/1 is a high-value pasta sauce coupon that will likely turn into a great deal when we match it to the right sale.

Olay products. If you are a huge Olay fan, consider getting multiple of these $1/1 coupons since they go well with this $15 Olay mail-in rebate.

Quaker True Delights Instant Oatmeal. If Quaker’s sales continue for a few more weeks we should be able to use this $1/1 True Delights Instant Oatmeal coupon.

Coupons Doubled in Value

If you can shop at a store where the value of your coupon is doubled and these products go on sale before the coupon expires, then you will likely get a freebie or something close to it.

Quaker Oatmeal Squares. Any $1/1 cereal coupon has the potential to become a free box of cereal, since $2 is a routine sale price for cereal.

Smart Balance Sour Cream. We got a free container of sour cream last week with a similar $1/1 coupon.

Starkist Tuna Pouch. A few weeks back these were on sale for $1 at my local store that doubles coupons, which allowed us to get two free after we used a similar $1/2 coupon.

Eat Out / Recreation

Subway. Do you love that any footlong is $5 right now? The RP insert has a couple great Subway coupons including buy one, get one free and two value meals for $9 after 4 pm.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find any coupons in our area Sunday paper, which I attribute to tomorrow being President’s Day.

I’m sure that if there’s any coupons I need, I can order from Coupon Clippers.

I always feel like I’m gambling when I purchase the early Sunday paper. I started to doubt myself when I bought 5 copies yesterday, but feel happy to learn that there was only one insert today!

I use The Coupon Clippers (TCC) instead of buying the paper, but beware! They post the Sunday insert coupons on Saturday morning. The super excellent coupons like the 2.50/1 electrasol coupon are gone by mid-morning. If I know there is a coupon I want multiples of, I try to buy it from TCC, but if I can’t I go out and buy multiple copies of the paper. Then ask my friends. TCC is not the be-all end-all of multiples of “good” coupons.

Leah- Do you still use The Coupon Clippers? If so, how do you pay for the coupons that you buy? My concern is about keeping my credit card number secure. Thank you in advance for your help. :-)
