Spirit Airlines is rewarding Free Spirit members that donate $5 or more to Haitian earthquake relief with 5,000 free Spirit miles. If you have an active Free Spirit MasterCard, 5,000 miles is enough for one roundtrip off-peak award ticket. Without the MasterCard you need 10,000 miles for a ticket.
Unfortunately, Spirit Airlines doesn’t fly into my local airport (Minneapolis/St. Paul), but they fly out of a bunch of US cities to numerous destinations in Central and South America. See where they fly here.
Sign up for a free Free Spirit account, then make your donation. This offer is limited to the first 200,000 Free Spirit members that donate before January 17, 2010.
Your turn: Will you get a free ticket from this?

Should we be trying to get something “free” from this tragedy? Not sure if this is appropriate or not. Why not just give because it is the right thing to do.
Amanda,
If you were going to give to anyway, why not get something? When good fortune falls on good people, I couldn’t think of a more just situation. Besides, you could do even more good with the free ticket. If you were going to fly anyway, you could donate the equivalent $$ amount to another charity, or even back to the Haiti Relief Fund!
sorry, i still think its not appropriate to benefit off this tragedy
