Howdy Rainbow, Pick N Save and Copps shoppers! I have a lot of information to share with you this week, so listen up:
Doubling 10 coupons. This week Roundy’s stores will double up to 10 coupons (versus the usual 5) on Wednesday when you meet all the other criteria I mention here. Unofficial rumor has it that we may see more of these special promotions where they double 10 coupons with more frequency. If I get an official word on that I’ll let you know.
Coupons that say “Do Not Double.” It has always been Roundy’s official policy that they do not double coupons that say “do not double.” On numerous occasions I had asked the cashiers and management at the store where I shop about that and was told that if the register doubles the coupon, then it could be doubled. In the last week Roundy’s corporate has asked the stores to stop accepting coupons that say “do not double.” I understand that last week some cashiers took “do not double” coupons and others did not. Personally, I will be forthright and ask this week about them, but will not plan on them doubling.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I cannot tell which printable coupons say “do not double” and which do not apart from printing them and I cannot always print every coupon (sometimes I have already printed it, etc.). That means 1) I will try, by process of observation, to note which coupons allow for doubling and which don’t (but I won’t ever learn them all), 2) I typed the list as if every coupon can be doubled (since I cannot tell from the databases I use which allow for doubling and which don’t), but 3) you will have to review the coupons cross-referenced on this list to confirm whether they can be doubled or not.
Timing of this list. Wow, I don’t think Laura knew that she’d get such a positive response when she published the Rainbow list last Sunday. She graciously shared with me your overwhelming feedback on having the list earlier. I hear you and would like to make that happen, but cannot commit to it right now. It is a matter of logistics (which is not insurmountable) and I am hopeful that at some point we can make that switch. Your feedback has stuck with me and as soon as I can make that change happen I will.

I received an extra issue of All you a special Health and fitness issue in the mail today. It has an Ortega coupon for buy 2 save $1on . So I plan on doubling it to save $2.00 on 2 items. There is also $1 off coupon on baked lays potato chips. Since I don’t think they are on sale this week I will wait until next week to use it somewhere.
Moneysavingmom and quite a few others posted the Mission Tortilla coupon last week. I just followed the link. I can’t remember (sorry Carrie) if it linked up here as well, I just remember that’s where I printed it from last week.
That would be great (when you are able) to get the list out earlier. I had time to go on Wed last week, but didn’t have time Tuesday night to get online so I didn’t take advantage of the freebies last week. Thanks for all you do.
if you already used the Dannon yogurts coupon from the Smart Source insert, you can find a $1.00/6 on coupons.com (Light and Fit)
Does anyone have a price on the Hebrew National Hotdogs at Rainbow? I’ve got $1/1 coupons & was hoping I might find them there.
Priscilla, I shop at the SLP store and they have an entire kosher meat section. I will go at 9am and try to remember to check for you!!
I saw, they were $6.99 before coupons! Way too expensive for us.
Kraft Deli Fresh Sliced Cheese packages are 2 for $4 (7-8 oz packages). Recent insert (I think Smart Source) had buy 2 and get $1 off coupon. I also found these as printables at coupons.com. So if doubling coupon you would get the cheese at $1 for 8 oz. I;’m pretty new to this so if this works I’m pretty darn proud of myself for figuring it out. Doesn’t take much to give me a little thrill!
FYI the General Mills cereal deal generated a $3.50 milk catalina
SarahBB,
Here was my deal from this morning.
4 boxes of Cheerios (2.99 each)
2 boxes of Total (3.25 each)
1 pkg of Marcell Napkins ($2)
1 can of Mur Glen diced tomatoes ($1.79)
Hormel Pepperoni ($1.50)
2 gallons of Kemps milk. ($2.50 each)
Money off
$10 off for buying 6 boxes of General Mills cereal
6 $1 off coupons for cereal doubled (-$12)
$1 off Mur Glen coupon doubled (-$2)
$1 Marcell napkins doubled (-$2)
-$.55 hormel pepperoni doubled (-$1.10)
-$.60 when you buy 2 gallons of Kemp milk doubled (-$1.20)
Total = 59 cents and I recieved a $3.50 milk catalina!
If only I had recieved credit for the bags I brought.
So the GM cereal deal is still going?? That’s great! Can I do it again if I did it last week?
We did the GM deal last week, too, so I would assume so.
However, be careful with the DND coupons. Our Rainbow (Eagan) took them this morning, but I think that will not be the case in other stores with the new word from corporate.
Savage store has always taken them no problem – so here’s to hoping that is the case today as well!
Rainbow is tricky for me. I seem to stumble at the register, but with 10 doubled coupons it was hard to go wrong.
Notes from today. I was going to do two transactions, but my 6 refridgerated Pillsbury items counted at $9 not $18 at the MG store. I should have expected that. Once again it is so irriating that the stores cash registers do not opperate the same store to store.
They doubled every coupon- except the Starkist coupons doubled at 65 cents. I don’t know why I even tried to double them since they were only a $1 and the coupon was $1. That was a mistake I don’t think I should have used those as 1 of my 10.
Another thing I wish I hadn’t done was purchased 4 Mac and Cheese with the buy3 get one free coupon. Of course the one I got free was one of the 48 cent ones.
I did get a little better deal on the Pillsbury using the coupons from ss 1/24 because the pizza dough was like 35 cents off 1.
I spent $11.74, saved $39.63 and got a free 1/2 gallon organic milk (3.25) and $4 toward next purchase. Really not bad at all, like I said you can’t loose on the 10 doubled days.
Why did the Starkist coupons only double at 65 cents? Shouldn’t they have doubled to $2?
Probably because the regular price was $1.65, on sale for $1. The coupon will only double up to the regular price.
That was my experience as well, it seems the computers have gotten smarter at Rainbow and now only go up to the regular (shelf) price of the item, so you don’t get overage….
Melissa – The Mac and Cheese price on the list assumed the $0.48 would be free, so know that you paid what the list said. Maybe (?) that makes you feel better.
Anyone know of any prescription coupons out there this week?
Andrea,
There is a $10 Target gift card for a new or transferred prescription coupon on the target coupon website.
Thanks, Penny!!!
Melissa – The Starkist coupon did the same for me. Likely its because the product was 1.65 originally and you cant get overage if the product was never worth more. Either way it was still free!
My “do not double” coupons doubled. The language in the ad was probably because some mfg coupons do not double at the register and they don’t want customers giving the cashier a hard time. I’ve only ever had one coupon not double and it was a peelie off the product.
I went to the Apple Valley Rainbow this morning – here’s my trip:
**Tried the http://www.groceryblueprint.com that was advertised on the back of my reciept. It really helped me navigate through the store and not have to double back for missed items. I only had to make one trip around the store. :-)
**The deli does not open until 8 am – but they opened it so I could get what I needed. That’s great customer service!!!
**The deli seems to be printing out random coupons on the bottom of the skus – I got one for $0.75/1 Ziploc Containers, so check your deli purchases too!
**Perts Plus was org $3.49, on sale for $3.06, and used the $1/1 coupon that doubled. So it was only $1.06 for my shampoo & conditioner. I especially like this when I travel now as we’re limited in the amount of liquids we can carry on the plane.
**They would NOT double my coupons that said DND – cashier said they received a memo from corporate about 2 weeks ago. (Granted, it wasn’t busy and she was the only one working so I didn’t have any other options).
**Given many of my coupons didn’t double, I only saved 45% today. But that’s much more than I’d ever been saving before reading this site. :-)
I went this morning and was a little frustrated.
First, the cashier manually entered in my milk coupon instead of scanning it so I was not credited 3.50 like all the other times. Which in and of itself is fine because the milk was still free. However, I was not happy that she would NOT double the Marcal napkin coupon. She scanned it and it would only take off $1 and she told me she couldn’t do anything about it. I asked her about manually entering it like she did with the milk coupon, but she would not. So, I did not get the napkins.
I did two transactions, spent $19.58 and saved close to $52. I am thinking I may run again this evening.
What store was this? My napkin coupon would not double either.
It was the Forest Lake store. It was early so I only had one choice as far as the cashier. She scrutinized every coupon! I think I will call the store, I do daycare and the FREE napkins would be great!
The Marcal coupon worked for us at the Eagan Rainbow. Definietly call. However, we found out today that it is best to deal with it at that time rather than later in the day. One of our coupons did not double and it should have. We brought the receipt back about 2 hours later and they said they couldn’t do anything about it becuase they didn’t have the coupon to look at. Oh well, good to know for next time. Good luck!
Not surprising, we stopped going to FL in the morning due to that same experience.
You must have the gotten the cashier that I ABSOLUTELY AVOID….I’ll call her CP (coupon police) in this post. I’ve walked in before and have seen her at the only open register and leave. I either find another Rainbow or come back after her shift is over. I had an issue with the Marcal coupons this a.m. too with another cashier, but I stood my ground. She ended up calling the mgr over who after looking at the coupon said I should get $2.00 off. The cashier manually overrode the 5 packages I bought. There was a woman in the next line over who had CP who wasn’t so lucky (but they may have given her the diff after-the-fact since she was still there when the mgr decided it should double). On a side note, as I was packing my groceries, I think there was another disgruntled customer who went through CP’s line. I don’t know what they said to her, but as they walked away, her response was, “Find another place to shop?” which she followed with “Everyone wants something for nothing”….
They must have to manually enter the Marcal coupon. My cashier at Blaine didn’t question it and knew exactly what button to push. I didn’t know there was a issue until I looked at the receipt on the way to work that it was $2 off (three times for 3 napkins!).
Also, I’m so glad that I did not skip the Pillsbury special. They were only $2.59 each, and I had 3 x 40cent coupons that doubled, so all in all it comes to $0.23 each after the $4 your next order!
FYI…the Maple Grove Rainbow does not have the Scotch Lint Rollers in stock, they offer rainchecks.
Do you know what aisle the lint rollers “should” be in? I’ve look for them everytime I go there and can never find them. (Since November)
Angela…the lint rollers are by the mops, brooms, and cleaning supplies aisle at the Maple Grove store. Good Luck!
My Lakeville Rainbow has a lot of the HP printer ink 50% off. Great deal on color ink.
Marcal napkins: try as I may in both suggested inserts, I cannot locate this coupon. Has anyone found them? Perhaps I’m missing something? Thanks in advance.
The Marcal coupon isn’t in my inserts either. They must not be in all areas, maybe.
Susan-
Which paper did your inserts come from? If they came from any of the weekend papers other than the Sunday Star Tribune they have inserts with fewer coupons. I learned this the hard way by purchasing both Sunday papers and the Saturday early Sunday papers and each time there were significantly fewer coupons than in the Sunday Star Tribune. It may cost a little more but pays off many times over if you use coupons frequently.
Yes, I am aware of that. I get both the Pioneer Press and Star Tribune delivered. The coupon inserts are usually different, and the Tribune generally has more. But the Marcal coupons weren’t in either.
Try looking for “Small Steps” coupons. I think “Marcal” is in much smaller print so you may not have seen it. Good luck!
I work as a cashier at Rainbow. I myself am a coupon shopper. When it’s
double coupon day, I myself, always look and make sure I scan the $1.00
coupons first. I can’t say the same for all my fellow cashiers. Even as much
as I tell them, scan the $1.00 ones first. I often deal with the frustrated
customers at the customer service, saying why didn’t my cashier look for all
the $1.00 ones first. Can you pass along to all the fellow coupon users,
don’t rely on your cashier to check your coupons and scan the $1.00 ones
first. Place all your $1.00 ones on top, save yourself the time from having
to wait in line again at customer service. I wish I didn’t have to say that,
but not everyone is a savy shopper, nor does everyone think like a savy
shopper.
I usually just hand my coupons to the cashier that I want doubled and wait until they done scanning them and then I hand them the others. Works great.
I do the same thing. I make two piles and I sometimes even have a couple of extra coupons in case something doesn’t scan.
So Courtney, can you give us all the skinny on the DND coupons? On Double Coupon day, is the doubling a store promo, or does Rainbow get reimbursed from the manufacturer on the double amount? Thnx
BTW — I put my coupons in the order I want them scanned….most valuable on top, DND’s or BOGO at the end…I can’t tell you how often I see the cashiers re-sort them. CP (cashier from one of my previous posts) would look for the DND’s, put them in 1st so she could half them in essence negating the whole benefit of shopping on Wed. Ugh….
As I understand it Rainbow gets reimbursed the double except when it says “do not double.” That’s why they don’t want to accept DND coupons.
Rainbow off Lexington/Larpenture in St. Paul/Roseville did not double the DND ones…they too said they were ‘cracking down’ on those. Bummer! Oh well…was fun while it lasted! :)
My first order today…the Marcal napkins didn’t double but asked at the service counter…and they did double it! Thanks customer service!
What stores are you finding still doubling DND?
Happy Wednesday!
I did two transactions at Forest Lake Rainbow today. 1st trans, the DND did double, 2nd trans – different cashier would not double (fisher peanuts coupon).
My philosophy on the doubling coupons is to find a cashier that will and if you possibly can, always go to that cashier each week. I go to the same cashier every week because she is efficient, fair, and will double the DND ones still. I am able to go to Rainbow about the same time every week, and she’s always there! I’m sure she recognizes me now, but I like the consistency she assures me!
That you to the wonderful lady that gave me her Marcal cpn after it fell underneath the soda machine today at the AV rainbow.
Erica-the mommy with the 3 kiddos in tow.
Just got back from the EP Rainbow. They did double my coupons that said DND. So it looks like it may vary store to store or cashier to cashier. Overall, not a thrlling week at Rainbow for me. There just wasn’t much that sounded like a great deal to me, which was a bummer because of the 10 doubles. Oh well. Still saved over 50% on the few items I got.
Grr.. they only doubled 5 of my coupons (didn’t catch it until on the way home) at Coon Rapids and were out of the tuna I wanted. :( Disappointing.
Didn’t double them because they stuck together or just didn’t accept them? I’ve noticed that my prinitables tend to stick so have to strategically put clipped coupons btwn them. LOL, who would have ever thought that I’d have a strategic way to order coupons.
Lisa, I do that as well!
I do that as well too, not crazy, just tired of them sticking together! Columbia Heights Rainbow doubled everything even my dnd that I didn’t think they would double, however I did not get my $2.00 off next order with the breadsticks, didn’t even realize it until right now!
LOL I think the one thing that we can expect is inconsistency. As I read the comments I think that didn’t happen to me!! I went through twice and I did not have any DND coupons so that was not an issue today for me. I had 10 coupons for Muir Glen (soup and pasta) that I got at a co-op store (Valley Natural in Burnsville) which really helped with today’s outcome. But interestingly my tuna coupons doubled 100%. I also bought 6 packages of Uncle Ben’s instant rice and got a $1.00 off next visit (which was in 10 minutes) coupon.
Overall I saved 75% -$83.00 worth of groceries for $19.95 and all stuff that I can use. I am over the top for Muir Glen Pasta Sauce. I also got a $3.25 coupon for purchase of any organic milk (compliments of General Mills ????). Which was nice. So over all a good trip for me. I am a tax accountant and my schedule really fills up starting next week so no I might not get to too many more double coupon days.
Oh really get to know your cashiers. They are so different. One I went to today didn’t glance at any of them and the 2nd one looked at it like the IRS was on her tail (I know I would be like the 2nd one -makes for a great accountant but a lousey cashier (from my perspective ha ha ha!!!)
The Marcal napkins would not double for me as well. The cashier called a manager over to ask about it, and in small print it said Mx value was $1.00, so she couldn’t double it because they wouldn’t get the money back from the manufacturer.
Wow, that was fun! This 10 coupon double day is lot less stressful for me (i’m a newbie)
$64 for $15 with a coupon for free milk, $2 on next purchase (for Pillsbury) and $7 on next Unilever purchase.
My DND coupons didn’t double (Lake Str). My tuna only doubled $.29.
On the Post Cereals, where is it we’re supposed to register? The Eggland’s Best eggs are not a bad deal with $.35 coupon in the 1/24 SS, they will be $1.29, which is good of you prefer their eggs.
Good trip to Rainbow. I went knowing that several of my coupons were DND, and I would never argue about that if Rainbow said no; however, I’ve never once had one of them not double including today. I was also pleasantly surprised that I was able to get such a great milk deal. Kemps Select 2/$5. I got both a skim and a chocolate gallon and used the .60/2 coupon. That brought it to $3.80 (I doubled the .60) and then the register also accepted my $3.50 off milk purchase from my G.M. cereal purchases last week. So, 2 gallons of Kemps Select milk for 30 cents! And my son will be so glad to have chocolate milk in the house again because I only buy it when it’s $2 or less per gallon. Yeah! I did find out the hard way that Rainbow rainchecks are only good for 2 weeks rather than a month like Cub’s. The cashier apologized that she couldn’t accept my BOGO free Fisher peanut coupon from about 3 weeks ago….
Tried a Cub ‘manufacturer’s coupon’ from this week’s Cub ad at Rainbow, and they would not accept it. Oh well. My cashier at the Woodbury store scrutinized every coupon and would not double the ones that say ‘do not double’ (only 2 of them). I’ve never done multiple transactions before, but for an extra $10, I thought the strange looks from the people behind me was worth it…great fun. Paid $40 for $124 in groceries in two transactions…thinking about going back later tonight!:)
Beth, I was able to use the Skippy peanut butter coupon from the Cub ad at the AV store tonight. The cashier said she wasn’t sure it would take it. It did scan, but she had to manually change the price. I’ve bought a lot of peanut butter this week!
I used the $3/5 manufacture Quaker coupon from Rainbow 1 or 2 weeks ago at Cub yesterday. Cub ran $3/5 Cub coupon so I was able to use both on Quaker which Cub had a good sale on. Hot breakfast for a while to come.
I, too, had success combining the $3.50 off milk catalina from last week with the Kemp’s 60 cents/2 coupon and only had to purchase 2 gallons of milk.
Too bad I didn’t go to the store last week since I had just gotten back from out of town. Sounds like you guys stocked up on cereal and got free milk. We need cereal too…well, we only have 4 boxes left anyway :)
I don’t do Rainbow often it is too frustrating when they are out and rude or different not just from store to store but from one cashier to the next. HOWEVER I went today and saw a lot of pocket your dollar shoppers at the AV store. I avoided the crabby cashier and had a great time.I had some 1$/1 pills. crescent coupons. Got them at Cub on a display in the deli area. went through 3 times used 6 got rolls for 29 cents and a 4 catalina. Final result 108.93 for 24.08 with taxes. (77%) yahoo! Last trip through was a bit spendy used 1$ off coupons but not on items that were also on sale but things we don’t normally get. They were out of the Tuna and I got the last 2 Marcal Napkins
I wish I knew who the cashiers were to avoid in AV. What time do you shop? Were you able to double your DND coupons?
I bought Post-it Flags today at Rainbow on sale 50% off for 1.64 then used the $1/1 from Smartsource 1/10 – for free!
FYI – Green Mill Pizza is on sale for $5 and there is a $1 off coupon (doesn’t say dnd) in the 1/10 Smart Source.
I just got back from my Rainbow in Brooklyn Park where they had a sign on the shelf stating that the Nabisco crackers was a misprint and they are really 3.19/box. So, I was really bummed as I was very excited about getting $1 crackers! :(
I went to Savage and did the .40/2 pizza crusts which were B1G1 and my .40 coups doubled just fine. Was worried they wouldn’t since one item was already free. I didn’t try an DND coupons today. Was too stressed as it was and didn’t want the confusion. Did lots of “needs” shopping today but still walked out paying $23.52 for $64.42 worth of stuff and got the $4 Pillsbury catalina for next week! Not too bad!
Hello! I just wanted to say the Coon Rapids Rainbow is great! I go in the morning and evening and the cashiers are always very helpful. I needed a raincheck on the lint roller and the cashier had them premade (already at 9am!) and reminded me to keep my coupon too. Most of them pay no attention to the coupons except anything that says “free”. This is a nice change from Blaine where they scrutinize everything and say that all of us try to “pull stops” on them, when in truth we are just trying to save money for our families. Happy Shopping to you all and thank you SO MUCH to Pocket your Dollars! You have cut my grocery bills by more than half and i have found so much joy each week in my lists and how much i can save for my family!!! :)
My excitement for the day was I actually, not having planned to do so, found many good deals in the school supply aisle, and was able to get 4 pkgs of various kinds of Bic pens for under .50 total. They were all marked down to 1/2 price, mostly that was right around $2, and I had 4 coupons for any Bic products (from Entertainment Weekly magazine) that were $1 coupons. So, about $8 in pens free, is pretty nice. The Brooklyn Park store has a lot of school and/or office supplies marked down to 1/2 price. I got a Brother electronic labeler marked down to $19.99. Was on my list, for Office Max but I decided to save the trip and get it at Rainbow. Printer ink 1/2 price too. I notice a lot of the marked down items were Staples brand.
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten any school supplies at Rainbow before today.
I went at around 4:30 to Rainbow off Larpenteur and all of my DND’s doubled… I think they have really great customer service and most of the cashiers seem pretty nice. Thank you to everyone who works there that makes it a pleasant experience for cash-strapped people like me, and other fellow couponers. :)
I spent $23.70 for $75.75 worth, with two toddlers in tow… I was happy with that! I also got the pepperoni that was 2/$3 and had a .55 peelie on the box for the pepperoni (which doubled!) if you got the Pillsbury pizza dough – and since I was doing the Pillsbury deal, too, it worked out great and got my pepperoni for .40! We will have some good and cheap homemade pizza one night since I still have Kraft cheese from the last time I used a $1/2 on a great sale!
Did the GM deal on the fly as I wasn’t planning on it! Spent $2 for 6 boxes of cereal plus free milk catalina. If I had one more $1 off coupon, it would have been free!
Dannon Danimal Crush Cups Yogurt were $2 and my kids eat yogurt every day so I got two packs of those for free with $1 coupons that doubled. I don’t think I have paid for yogurt in 5 months or something like that!!! These great high value coupons are awesome, especially for such a healthy product like yogurt!
I agree about the yogurt. While mine wasn’t free today (paid about 15 cents each for 12 Light and Fit yogurts) I get it for free nearly every time. My husband brings one to work every day and my son eats a yogurt at least once a day or we share one (he’s 2).
My husband knows NEVER to buy yogurt on his own when I send him to the store for something else!! ;)
Thank you Carrie for posting those Kraft website printable coupons today. They really helped! I usually average 50% savings on my bill using your website for tips. I know I could do better, but I don’t buy things just because it’s a good deal. I buy what I like and need. So I’m pleased as punch!
As for DND coupons, I don’t know why people get upset when they don’t double. IT SAYS DO NOT DOUBLE. Take it as a bonus if they do, but don’t count on it.
Had 3 great transactions at Rainbow today also. I agree I think I saw alot of PYD shoppers today! Now that it is the end of the month, I did a summary on the expense tracker sheet that someone posted here a few weeks ago, I love the fact that it calculates my savings for everything! I am currently running a 70% savings for the month of January for groceries, household cleaners, toiletries and cosmetics. I am please to have stayed under budget also! That was a great idea!
At my Rainbow (the Quarry), they had pillsbury pie crusts on sale (clearance?) for 1.54 plus a peelie for $1/2, so it works out to $0.54/pkg after doubling AND it counts toward the pillsbury deal. Buy 6 for $3.24 OOP, then get $4 coupon!!
Carrie – I can’t thank you enough for this website! I have not only been able to cut my grocery bills by more than half but I seem to have a new favorite hobby!
GREAT day at Rainbow today! At first I wasn’t too impressed with their special “double 10 coupons” days as I normally do three times that, just in multiple transactions! Boy it does make life easier, though. Did the GM cereal deal again (haven’t paid a dime for cereal in months – have probably actually come out ahead). That was a great surprise – thanks to whoever posted about that earlier :) So, here’s what I got with all my coupons doubled (even the DNDs :)
8 boxes Pop Secret (raincheck from last week): $1 – $1/2 = 8 FREE
2 Starkist tuna pouches: $1 – $1/1 = 2 FREE + $1.30 overage
1 Buddig lunch meat tub: $2.50 – $1/1 = $.50
2 gallons Kemp’s milk: $5 – $.60/2 – $3.50 GM Catalina = $.30
2 tubs Daisy sour cream BOGO (raincheck from last week): $2.19 – $.50/1 = 2 for $1.19 (wouldn’t take the second $.50/1 coupon on the free tub, but who can complain with all the other great deals I got?)
With the bananas I bought, I got all that for $1.74! With all three of my transactions combined I spent $16 on about $100 in groceries.
I’ve unpacked my groceries, poured a glass of 3 buck Bob (I made that up in honor of Chairman Bob’s $3.33 bottles of wine which is a bit watered down, but pleasant) and now I’m studying my receipts. I did 4 trips in about 2 hours, 2 at a time. My first trip went fast, but I got tired and spacey on my second round. Does anyone else stop before heading to the checkout, look things over and then panic thinking that it all has to be rearranged to get the best deal? I almost did that and then decided to trust my list I prepared at home when my head was clearer. Why do I do that???
I shopped my favorite St. Louis Park store in the evening. All my coupons doubled no matter what the wording. I am getting to know them and them me, which is as it should be. I think they trust that I’m bringing legitimate coupons, or else that store just has not had the problems other stores have had…yet. I spent a total of $74.39 and used a total of 68.25 in doubled coupons and other incentives for a total of $174.10 of groceries and an average savings of 58%. I also earned a .30 cents a gallon up to 25 (or is it 20?) gallons of gas, a $3.50 coupon for milk and 50 Bonus Box Tops (in coupon form) for our church’s elementary school. I am happy with my part-time job this week!
In Rainbow’s 3 day ad they have the pillsbury crescents/biscuits on special for 10/$10.00. The sale dates for these are the 28th thru February 10th. If you use the coupons that were recently posted for 1.00/2 then get the coupon for your next shopping trip.
Buy 6 for $6.00 use 3/1.00 coupons and you will receive a coupon for your next shopping trip for $4.00.
Buy 5 gets you a 3.00 coupon for your next trip
Buy 4 gets you a 2.00 coupon for your next trip
I assume you don’t need to buy 10 to get the price as it states that you will save up to 6.90 on 10
I went yesterday and did okay but not to the 75% savings yet. Getting better though. I did see someone with a coupon box in her cart. I need to get mine so I can bring extras for when they are out of items I want/or for in store specials like the post its. Learning curve.
Hope this helps some.
awesome so some free cresent rolls!! buy 6/$6 -$2 in cpn and $4oop and get $4 back woot woot!!! thanks
Carrie-
Just wanted to thank you so much for this site. I use it several times every week and you have saved me so much time and money. I shop the Brooklyn Park location and dont usually have many issues. There is one CP cashier there (a middle aged lady with long brown hair) who I avoid but most of the cashiers there are young and dont really care, they just scan the coupons and as long as they ring up, they don’t give you any hassle. I usually get comments from people in line around me how amazed they are with all my coupons and how much money I save. I went yesterday and did two transactions with 20 coupons and it was awesome. I went about 4pm and even though I may not know those of you who shop at this location, I know they are out there as most of the items that are the best deals, are usually quite picked over. Sometimes they are even gone so I have to come up with some deals on my own. It is always a great feeling when you cash out and know you have saved yourself so much money. Thanks so much!
Melissa –
Since you, too, shop at the BP Rainbow, do you know if they use the shelf or sale prices to make the $25 minimum? Each week I try to make sure I have a $25 total after ALL of my deals just to be sure but if it’s the other way around, that is helpful to know, too. I don’t want to be tossing in un-needed fillers if it’s not necessary! :)
Also, this week I had a young man as a cashier bee bopping to his own tune (actually rapping out loud while scanning!) who wouldn’t double the DND’s, just so you know. I’m normally a north of 610 Cub shopper but I cease to be amazed in Rainbow.
Thanks!
Melissa
Wondering how everyone continues to get good $1/1 coupons for cereal? It seems the ones I have aren’t always the GM cereals included in the promotions. Any suggestions?
Brenda: go to cheerios.com right now and print cereal coupons for $1 off a box. They are hard to find. One time I found holiday booklets at Rainbow that had $1 off a box of crispex and $1 off cornflakes. This makes for great free cereal on their cereal sales of $2 a box. Don’t miss out on the .72 cent cereal right now at Target:
Buy one box of Kellogg’s Special K $2.94
Buy one box of Kellogg’s Special K Granola $3.29
Total=$6.23
Use the buy one Kellogg’s Special K, get Special K Granola FREE coupon (will deduct $3.29) from http://www.specialK.com
Plus, use the $0.50/1 Kellogg’s Special K cereal Target coupon http://www.target.com
And the $1/1 Kellogg’s Special K Granola cereal Target coupon http://www.target.com
Final cost just $0.72 per box!
I could swear I head a commercial this morning that had Kellogg’s products 5/$10 this weekend. They had the same crazy sale before Christmas and I stocked up on granola bars with coupons.
Can anyone confirm this sale?
yes i saw this in the rainbow ad…has been going on all week!
I saved 81% again this week. My average spending for our family of 6 this month was $52 a week.

I love Roundy’s and hope they don’t change their policies!
Got my ad for this coming week and i am excited for a few things! Cant wait to see Carrie’s match ups for the week!
