These are the best deals I see this week at Rainbow Foods (a Roundy’s store). It assumes you shop on Wednesday when they will double the face value of five coupons that are worth $1 or less. If you’d like more details on the rules around doubling check out this post.

Buy 4 select Special K Products, Get 1 Special K Free with in-ad coupon
You may not be able to use both the in-ad coupon, plus manufacturer’s coupons for the cereals you buy as part of this deal. If you can, at most you’d be able to use coupons for four of the cereals, versus all five you’ll leave the store with, because the in-ad coupon is not store-issued. Therefore, I have to assume it’s a manufacturer-issued coupon (even though it doesn’t say that) and your store may have a policy against stacking it alongside other manufacturer-issued coupons and/or it may be problematic for the register. Consider asking the Customer Service Manager at your store whether other coupons can be used alongside the one in the ad (point to the fact that it does not say manufacturer-issued and looks like it will be reimbursed by a company other than Kellogg’s).

Thanks for the info Anna!
Anna,
Thanks for the info on the tampons! Mindy – I am fairly new to all of this (about 2 months in) and have not bought tampons since I have started so I wasn’t sure what a good price is. I will be sure to get some at Walgreens like Anna mentioned!
Thanks Jessica W. for the gift card info. Appreciate it.
* Anna and Mindy! *
Alright, just looked into those tampons at Walgreens and the boxes are 16-18 pack. That means you spend $4 on 36.
The Rainbow boxes are 36 count, so at $3.99 (like you were going to spend Mindy) you get those wipes free too. Still not sure what a goal price would be for tampons, but if you need them this week I’d do the Rainbow deal. =)
Theresa K ~ What a great idea!!! I think many of the Puffs boxes of tissue have a large mouth/opening – unlike Kleenex brand which are “top dispenser” – so they would be VERY easy to “refill” with tissues from a seasonal package. Wish I had thought of this myself! I got a bunch of cheap Kleenex after the “back-to-school” sales so my boxes have soccer balls and butterflies on them. Wish I had saved an old but “prettier” Puffs box!
Jessica,
That sounds great, as the price of both products will definitely help me reach my $25 minimum at Rainbow tonight!
Thanks!
Mindy
Thank you, Carrie! I wondered if there was a better way to share an e-mail on this site so that we aren’t cluttering up the comments with recipes or something specific like that if someone wants them….. I appreciate that you wanted to protect one of you readers from Spam problems!
To weigh in on the price of tampons – I wait until Rainbow has the Playtex 16-18 count boxes on sale 2/$6 (which they do quite regularly) and then I double 2 $1 off coupons, making them $1 a box for 16-18 and then I stock up.
Anna, Jessica & Mindy (TAMPONS)
What a joke…those tampons that you had to buy to get the free cloths were $7.99 a box at the Lakeville Rainbow today. Even if you get the pads for free…it’s a rip off. I think I’ll have to wait til the next deal on those.
Did your stores have aonther price on them as the sale price?
JoannaV-
So at Wlagreen’s you can use 2 – $1 off coupons for the same item? I thought they had a limit of 1 coupon per item.
JoannaV
I ment Rainbow, sorry.
Have any of you been paying attention to your Fuel Perk rewards from week to week (or transaction to transaction)? I stopped at Rainbow over the weekend and my Fuel perks said I had .10 and said “Dollar Amount Towards Next Fuel Rewards is” $22.08. I stopped tonight and spent $16.41 oop (saved $22.99). My fuel perks still says I have .10 but now the “Dollar Amount Towards Next Fuel Rewards is” $41.49. How does that work? If you hit a reward, does it wait a while for it to post? Should I really be at .20 and my receipt just doesn’t say so? I’ve noticed this for a while and have never been able to figure it out. Thoughts?
Kimm,
You don’t have to wait for the fuel reward to post. It adds what you paid OOP plus your coupons. You need to spend $8.51 more to get your next rewards. Your must have had $3.00 in coupons on your transaction. $22.08 (starting balance) + $16.41 (OOP) + $3.00 (coupons) = $41.49.
Angela P-
The tampons were $7.99 at my Shoreview Rainbow also. With the coupons I had doubling ($1 off the already free clothes, to $2 after doubling), and I had a $.50 one for the tampons, making it $1 off tampons, in essence I would have been taking $3 off the $7.99 for both products. I believe Mindy had a $1 off coupon for the tampons ($2 after doubling), along with the same coupon as me for the wipes, getting $2 off for those, so she would have paid $3.99 for both. So no, the tampons weren’t on sale, but that is how we got to those numbers. Hope that helped..
And thanks JoannaV for the input!

The Gold Bond is a better deal at Rainbow.
Anna’s right. I paid $3.99 after $1/1 x2 on the tampons and $1/1 x2 on the wipes. I’m fairly new to using coupons and this being my first purchase in this product category, I was OK with $3.99 for 36 ct. of the brand I prefer. The first time I get them for a better price, though, watch out! I won’t be paying that much anymore ;) Thanks for the heads up on the 16-18 ct. deal, though. I will save my remaining coupons for use when that deal comes up. I hate spending money on anything that’s not fun, but definitely not feminine hygiene products! PS my husband would DIE laughing if he knew I’d been going on for days about the price of tampons online, particularly as I sent him out last night to get a second order!! :)
Carrie- The summer when I was stocking up on diapers and wipes, Rainbow had a great sale on Huggies diapers and 10/$10 on their Pampers wipes. I was able to use additional coupons to double up on these savings! Do you ever advertise these sales on your list? I have been watching the Rainbow ad that I receive in the mail and haven’t noticed these sales printed.
Thanks!
Liz
Liz – I do post them, but there haven’t been sales like that again in recent months. I’ll let you know when there is.
Sue, thanks for your clarification. I think I’ve been reading my receipt as $ UNTIL my next reward, not TOWARDS. No wonder that number is going up vs down! Duh!!!!
Thanks for the lead on Gold Bond Lotion at Rainbow this week! (It was on sale for $5.49 plus an in-ad coupon for $4.00 off two plus a $1.00 off coupons that I got doubled yesterday.) Regular price $8.89-got it for $2.49/bottle. My daughter has severe dry skin and it works miracles on her skin!
I thought I’d throw this comment in… when I went to Rainbow on Wednesday, I had a $5 off your order coupon that expired on 12/29 (or maybe it was 12/31). I nicely asked to the cashier, a teenager (not sure if that’s relevant or not), if they would take the expired coupon. I don’t know if she tried to scan it as I was distracted by something, but she actually typed in two $2.50 coupons for me! I was very surprised and thanked her, she was very nice. Not sure what their usual policy is on that, is that normal practice?
The Rainbow checkout person informed me that next Wednesday, Jan. 27, Rainbow will accept up to 10 coupons to be doubled. This is a one day bonus that Rainbow will be trying once per month.
