You and your child can enjoy a free craft workshop at Lowe’s this Saturday. You’ll build a Tic Tac Toe game. Although it’s free, you do need to pre-register. The event runs from 10 – 11 am this Saturday at participating Lowe’s stores. Register for the build and grow clinic here.
Your turn: Who enjoys these clinics more – you? or your child?

On the site I see that the recommended age is Grades 1-5. Has anyone ever brought a younger child and if so, how did it go?
My son has built different items there since age four (I didn’t read the fine print regarding the age). He has done just fine & has been allowed to build every time. Our 3 yr old daughter hasn’t built & we’ll see if what her (or my) interest/capability is at age four :)
This is a great program. They get a workshop apron and patches, to show what they have made.
My daughter is 3 1/2 so I guess we will skip this so the right age kiddos can participate. Hope they have a class for the younger kiddos!
My 3 1/2 year son loves to “hammer” and has very proud of the two items he has made. Like most kids there, he needs help from Dad or I. We go to the Lowe’s in Cambridge, and there has been no issues with his age and it hasn’t been overly busy. Maybe other locations have been busier. I just make sure he’s a happy little guy before going…or we skip it. :)
My boys ages 10, 7, 5, and 3 have participated at Lowe’s before and had a great time. We made a planter box for Mother’s Day last year which even included dirt and a plant. All my boys enjoy the projects even though the younger ones need more assistance. We also go to Home Depot on the first Saturday of each month for their kids workshop.
This is the first time I’ve registered for a workshop, it says that the first 50 registered participants get a kit, apron, etc. Anyone know if the Plymouth location is so busy that we have to get there extra early to be able to partipate?
Shelly, is there a schedule of the kid’s workshops at Home Depot on their website, or how to you find out how to register, etc. We asked at the service counter there once, and no one had any information about it. Thanks!
Angela – Here is the link to the Home Depot Kids Workshop page. February 6th is the next project from 9am – Noon. We usually get to our Home Depot no later than 10am so we can guarantee to work on the project of the day. When they run out of the kit of the day then they pull out extra projects from previous months. There is no early registration…you just show up and participate.
