I didn’t see anything else that I thought was a real rock bottom price. The whole chickens and other large packages of meat come out to $1.42/lb and I usually buy them at $0.80/lb. Do you something that you think is a great price?

Carrie, When I try to connect to this weeks Cub Shoppping list…It comes up empty. Wondering if this is happening to everyone? Target, Walgreens, CVs are fin.

  3. Jean

    Still not fixed.

  4. Betsy

i get nothing when I click on the shopping list ????

  5. Kierstien

Okay its working now, at least for me it is! I went and bought 4packages of turkey yesterday and used two of the $1of any jenny o turkey store not sure which ad these came from cuz i had them cut out previously. So if you have any of these left its a pretty good deal on turkey I got it for $1.50/lb not as good as the .50 a few weeks ago but still not bad!

  6. Sarah

    Hi All,

I have a coupon for 2 of 1 All detergent and 2 off 1 Snuggle fabric sofener which would bring them down to 1.49 each. I do not know which insert they are from, sorry. They did exspire 1/10/10 if that helps.

  7. Haila

I believe the high fiber soups are included in the $1.18 sale. I have some old $1.10 off coupons for these from online a while back (no longer online, and expired – but still within the 3 month window for Cub). So 8 cents for soup – yay.

    1. Valerie Y

I had those $1.10 off 1 Progresson High fiber soup coupons too! 2 of them. I’m so glad Cub accepts expired ones. I got the tomato basil flavor. Not sure what it will taste like, but at .08 a can it’s sure worth a try.

Also, I had 4 expired internet coupons for the GNP All Natural chicken, 2– 0.75 ones and 2 that were $1 off. With the $2.99 sales price plus the coupons, I feel like I got a great stock-up deal on t he chicken.

  8. Breanna

Where is the Russet Potatoes “in-ad” coupon? Do you mean in store? Sorry, I’m new to this. Thanks.

    1. JoannaV

The potato coupon is on the front page of the Cub ad.

  9. SarahBB

For the 2 Skippy for $2 and 2 Ragu for $2 in-store coupons (though they do say manufactuer Q, I believe) I was able to combine with manufacturer coupons (sorry don’t remember what inserts)

  10. Breanna

Nevermind, I see that it says “per pound”. I thought it was each bag and I was looking for another coupon! I found the .48 coupon- sorry!

  11. Julie

Can we use the coupons on the back of the Cub ad at other stores (like Rainbow)?

  12. Angela

For Aunt Jamima/Quaker – Can we combine the manufacturer’s coupons listed above with the $3.00/5 man. coupon from the ad a couple of weeks ago? I seem to remember that being okay, but can’t remember.

    1. JoannaV

You could use the $3/5 coupon from the Rainbow ad a few weeks ago, but its a manufacturer’s coupon, so you can’t combine it with another manufacturer’s coupon.

    2. JoannaV

but you can combine it with a Cub store coupon found in the little coupon book in the store.

  13. Sue K

    Cub’s Coupon book has
-Post cereal for 1.49 ea. (must buy 4) all the ones Carrie has listed plus honey bunches of oats, honey-comb, alpha bits, cocoa & fruitty pebbles.
-Quaker products 1.39 ea. (must buy 5) includes chewy granola bars, standard or quick oatmeal, oatmeal to go, instant oatmeal, aunt jemima pancake mix & syrup, life cereal, oatmeal squares, and cap’n crunch.
-Fuze b3g3 total cost $3.00 or .50 ea.

  14. Lisa

Do you think Rainbow would accept the man. coupons on the back of the flyer?

  15. Shelly

    Lisa,

I was just going to ask the same question. I was thinking they should because there is no mention of Cub on the coupon.

  16. Tami W

isn’t the $1.10 progresso coupon off of three cans of progresso?

    1. Valerie Y

There was a $1.10 off 1 coupon on the internet a few months ago. It expired 1/6. It was only good on the High Fiber kind of Progresso. Yes, there’s a $1.10/3 (any kind) Progresso one too. Hope that helps.

  17. Angie

I was at Cub last week and the check out lady told me they take manufacturer coupons up to 5 months expired. But I can never get them to take more than manufacturer coupon at a time for the same item, how do you do that?

    1. JoannaV

Angie – you cannot use more than 1 manufacturer’s coupon per item. You can combine a manufacturer’s coupon with a store coupon though. Is that what you mean?

  18. Laura Z.

I just did the popcorn deal. I got one package of popcorn and two pops for free, but I still had to pay for one of the popcorns. I used both the cub coupon ( BOGO) and the manufacturer’s coupon (free popcorn and 2 pops when one popcorn in purchased). I’m not sure why both popcorns weren’t free.

  19. Emily

Laura – You have to watch the register and make sure it works. The cashier has to MANUALLY take off that second popcorn.

I had a hard time yesterday doing this but I politely stood my ground because I knew was right. I was using a manu. coupon for B1G1 and 2 pops free and the Cub coupon B1G1. So both popcorns AND two pops – totally free. I had to nicely “argue” with my cashier, then the head cashier and finally the manager. The manager finally said, “We’ll let you do it this one time”. *rolls eyes*. I did three transactions and all I paid was .14! (just tax). I will be doing this a few more times this week but I just have to make sure I am in a calm and polite mood because I know it will be another battle to just have Cub accept my coupons – even though I am doing nothing wrong.

Can you tell this has bothered me since yesterday afternoon? Ha!

  20. Dawn

There are no prints for the Knnor sides left. FYI

  21. Sue K

I just got back from Cub doing the popcorn/pop deal. I to only got one popcorn for free. I also tried to explain that 1 was a cub coupon and 1 a mfg. coupon and was told that because it says instantly at register on the mfg coupon it applies to the fact that it is already on sale. The mfg. coup. also says right on it up to $2.00. I’m wondering if I were to give them the mfg. coup first and then the cub one if it would work.

    1. Laura Z.

Sue K. — I think it’s the wording of the coupon also. It does say ” instantly at the register”. It’s almost like the Cub coupon isn’t necessary. I wonder if someone tried to buy two popcorns without any coupons, would it be BOGO? It’s very frustrating!

    2. Laura Wales

Here’s how the deal works (Carrie checked with a Cub manager):
      - buy two boxes of popcorn and two 2-liter bottles of pop
      - use Cub in-ad coupon to get one box of popcorn free
      - use manufacturer coupon on the store display to get two 2-liter bottles of pop free (note that the maximum value of the coupon is $2.00, which covers the cost of the pop, NOT the cost of the popcorn)
      - pay for one box of popcorn at $2.69 and get another box of popcorn and two 2-liter bottles of pop free

  22. Dana

Do ALL Cub foods take expired coupons?

  23. Dawn

In Cubs coupon booklet they have Nabisco Premium Saltine Crackers for 2.00. I have a coupon for 1.00 off one Nabisco Crackers. (don’t know what insert) and these would apply towards the Jingle rebate. I think this is a good deal and I always use these for soups, crushing for coating and meatloafs, scalloped corn.

  24. Sarah

There was a Jingle Rebate a few months back which expired and now there is another current one. Is the manufacturer allowing two rebates to the same address (previous rebate and the new rebate)?

  25. Katy

Will Cub take expired Cub coupons?

There is an expired coupon for Knorr sides from the 11/15 red plum- .50/2 I think.

  26. Pam

My experience with Cub and taking expired coupons is that it varies. One near me takes them. Another will take expireds from the paper or flyers but not internet coupons that have expired. If I’m going to a new Cub, I usually stop by the service counter and ask before I try to use any coupons.

  27. Breanna

I just got back from the Plymouth Cub and had no problem with the popcorn/pop deal. At the end my cashier said, “wow, you got both popcorns free, too!”. She gave me no problems. I did have to ask where the 2 free pops coupon was, and then an employee went and got it for me.

Thanks Carrie- we don’t like to buy snacks, so this is a treat for us!

  28. Haila

I have tried to use $1 off Fisher nuts coupons (there have been lots of them in recent coupon inserts) at Rainbow and Cub, but my stores seem to run out of stock of the sale items quickly. However, if anyone likes sunflower seeds, bags of them run around 99 cents at my Cub regular price – so FREE after coupon.

    1. Kierstien

thanks my husband loves sunflower seeds so now i have to go check this out. do they run the same price at rainbow??

      1. Kimm

I haven’t been able to find Fisher Sunflower Seeds at Rainbow.

    2. Kimm

I’ve been buying Fisher Sunflower seeds at Cub (16oz) and they’ve been running around 2.29. What size bag is .99?

      1. Haila

I’m not sure how big the bags are, but they’re smaller than 16 oz, I think. They’re in the section with the rest of the nuts at my Cub (in St Anthony Village), hanging in bags above all the cans and jars. Will check on my next trip. I don’t recall seeing them at Rainbow.

      2. Katie

The $.99 bags at Cub are 5.75 oz. I picked up 2 today with 2-$1 coupons so they were both free! I never thought about sunflower seeds before, just nuts. Thanks!!

  29. Cindy

I just came back from Cub and Progresso is $2.39 a can. Hmpf. I thought it was on sale? Anyone else run into this when they got to the store?

I was very happy with the Gold n Plump sale. I’ve been saving up the 75 cent coupons for quite a while!

    Thanks!
    Cindy

    1. Cindy

      Duh. I forgot my coupon!!!!

  30. Mariann

i’m confused on the 4 for $19.99 deal… why wouldnt the bonelss pork loins be a good deal this week? they are only $5 per package, isn’t that a great price?? I thought they were over $10 normally or close to it…

  31. Mariann

the coupons on the back of the cub ad… should we buy these this week or hold onto those coupons? im not sure if they are considered rock bottome prices or not.

  32. Dana

Every Cub must be doing it different – Cub in Buffalo said that you will have to pay for one box of popcorn so you end up getting two boxes of popcorn and 2 two liters of pop for $2.69.

    1. Kim

Dana, do you know if the Cub In Buffalo takes expired coupons and you have used them there before? How long for the expiration? Thanks in advance if you know!

      1. Dana

Yes cub in Buffalo takes expired coupons back 3 months back

        1. Kim

          Thanks

  33. Holly

    Carrie~

Since the coupons on the back of the Cub ad are MANUFACTURER coupons, does that mean we can use them ANYWHERE?? Like Target or Walmart?

    Thank you!

  34. Holly

If you don’t have any of the 75 cent coupons off the golden plump chicken, my cub had coupons on the package of chicken breasts! I only had one 75 cent coupon with me so I was thrilled to find these on the package!

  35. Sara

I’ve been trying to track my spending/savings and wonder if anyone has a great way to do this at Cub? They switch out their shelf tags and there doesn’t seem to be much on the receipt that really helps me out. I’m looking for a savings per product and not just my overall transaction.

    Thanks!

  36. Mary

So, you have to have 3 boxes of popcorn to get two free?

    1. Laura

No, you just need to buy one box of popcorn to get another box of popcorn and two 2-liter bottles of pop free.

  37. Christie

I thought the pork loins were also a good deal as I bought 4 of them. Yes they are over $10 and my family does like them. Since that is the main course and veggies and sides are inexpensive it does turn out to be a decent priced meal.

  38. steve

I agree with Carrie on the popcorn. I looked at the coupon.

If you use the store coupon and the manufactor coupon you will receive a free box of popcorn and two two litters when you purchase the one box of popcorn.

I am not willing to fight the battle of trying to get everything free. It clearly says a maximum of a $2.00 refund on the coupon. Cub can only receive the maximum on the coupon.

I am willing to fight for my rights on coupons. This is clearly one I am not willing to fight. The maximum coupon is $2.00.

  39. Eva

Question re:purchase vs transaction for anyone … if there is a BOGO offer and I have a Manf Q that states 1 coupon per purchase am I able to use 2 Qs or only 1?

  40. Becky Bilder

I saw you at Living Word on sunday walking thru main lobby, I thought you looked familiar when I saw you on TCL. I for years I have been saving money at cub. Now I am a empty nester with hubby. When I see a good deal I buy it and donate to food shelf at LW or near buy. so others might want to do the same. have a blessed day

  41. Shannon

The Post coupon expired. The $2.00 with registration.

  42. Patty

I went to Cub tonight and saved 47%. I got 22 items for $23.00! I had been accumulating a bunch of Quaker coupons and it paid off big this week. Thanks Carrie for all you are teaching us about saving money.

  43. JC

CUb has a quaker coupon in their “coupon booklet”
but 5 and pay $1.39 each (basically a cub coupon for $3 off 5.
Combine with individual Quaker coupons or quaker Manufacturer Q for $3 off 5 and get some good deals

    1. Valerie Y

      JC,
I didn’t make it to Cub this week to pick up the little coupon book. Do you know if today was the last day for the coupons? I know they are good for 2 weeks. I am hoping I can still get the Quaker items next week, $1.39 when you buy 5. Thanks for your help.

      1. Kimm

The coupon book is good thru 2/6.
