This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

roundys

These are the best deals I see this week at Rainbow Foods (a Roundy’s store). It assumes you shop on Wednesday when they will double the face value of five coupons that are worth $1 or less. If you’d like more details on the rules around doubling, check out this post.

Had my best Rainbow week ever. First run – 4 boxes of free eggrolls, 2 cans of free shave gel, milk (no discount) and bogo texas toast pizza – $23.83 savings, 5.65 OOP. Second run – 8 boxes kellogs cereal w/ raincheck from two weeks ago – made a penny per box and a package of 50% off solo plates – $30.65 savings, 1.68 OOP. Thanks Carrie!!!!

Pam- that’s too bad you had a negative experience. They definitely should not be doing it that way. I was new to rainbow a month or so ago, and it takes a little while of trying and learning before you know all the ins and outs, don’t give up! For the most part we all have really good luck.

One tip in case you haven’t heard it yet: If you have more than 5 coupons and want a certain 5 doubled give only those to the cashier first. Then give them the rest of the coupons after they’ve doubled the ones you want. Sometimes if you give them all at once, they wil re-arrrange them and double ones you don’t want doubled. The machine doubles the first 5 coupons it gets.

And I agree, definitely give your Rainbow a friendly call about what happened, or go in to talk to them. It may be a case of the cashier not knowing.

I was shopping at the Chaska Rainbow.

  4. Julie W says:

I wanted to give a heads up on the Kraft deal, and I apoligize if it was mentioned already. I didn’t see it already but didn’t read word for word.

Rainbow was out of the Kraft cheese I wanted Wed, so I got a rain check to use for a future Wed with the double coupons.

When I was in Rainbow today, I decided on a whim to buy 3 Kraft chunk cheese because of the in store coupon for 1.00 of purchase of 3 (in the flyer). Much to my surprise a catalina printed saying 5.00 off your next purchase if you buy 5 Kraft products between Jan 1 and Jan 24th.

SO, if you use a rain check for 1.49 a piece and buy 5 Krafts during these dates (with the double coupons), you should get the 5.00 coupon off a future order, making the cheese free. It almost seems unethical somehow the deal’s so good! So, if all you have is a raincheck, you can go buy 3 this week with the in store coupon and you should get the coupon to use between 1/10 and 1/24.

So my question to you all, since I am an honest, ethical couponer. Do you think this is “cheating the system” to use the coupon I got today on a rainchecked item in a few weeks, knowing I wouldn’t have been able to use it today if I actually could have gotten the item now when it was on sale?

    Carrie any input?

Julie W (I added a “W” because I see another Julie on here!)
