Grocery
Buy 6 select General Mills Cereals at full price, get $10 off your grocery order and coupon for free milk
1) This milk coupon usually rings as $3.25 off your next order that contains milk versus just taking off the value of the milk
2) Work backwards when you put your deal idea together. Focus on your target price for cereal, which is for me no more than $1 per box. 6 boxes at $1 each is $6. Considering the $10 discount, that means I want my total after coupons to be no more than $16 for 6 boxes or $2.66 each.
3) I usually do more than one transaction in the evening when this promotion is running. I buy my cereal first, then use the milk coupon on my next order. It keeps me from forgetting to redeem the coupon.

Just want to point out that the Cover Girl with the P&G deal specifies only eye makeup.
Just a note about the C&H sugar, I am somewhat of a baking snob and use only C&H sugar, because it is “pure cane” sugar. The generics and store brands are “beet” sugar. I believe it makes a huge difference in my baking. Anytime I can get C&H under $2 for a 4 lb. bag, I stock up.
Where on the site is the coupon for Honey Bunches of Oats?
Is the $20 for the Procter & Gamble items based on regular or sale amount.
Thanks
Angie – The $20 for the P&G promo is based on sale amount (ask me how I know?) :)
General Mills Deal – $10 off grocery order – Does this mean that my price before coupons has to be $35 in order for them to double? Because the $10 comes off automatically once the 6 cereals are rung up. Am I thinking correctly?
JoannaV – I agree! Cane sugar tastes different from beet sugar. I have read and heard from various nutrition experts that cane sugar (product and process) it also better for you. This is a debatable point, I know, but it does taste better! I treasure the C&H coupons and sale prices and stock up!
Lindsey – you shouldn’t have to spend $35 on the cereal to get the deal to work unless Roundy’s changed something with their coding. 6 boxes of cereal with one or two more items should get you close to $25 and then you should be good to go. I’m going to use 3 coupons for cereal ($1/2) and add two more items to get to $25 that will be close to free or free after doubling those q’s. I think I’m projecting about $7 for that transaction.
hth
Can someone please give instructions for the Bunches of Oats coupon. I’ve tried to figure it out several times and cannot find the coupon!
Lindsey, the rainbow(s) I go to (Forest Lake and the Quarry (NE Mpls) does not treat the trnx the way you suggest. I only have to spend $25 original to double my coupons and then to take off the $10.00. The last time they ran a similar deal, I got 8 boxes of cereal for like $2.00 out of pocket.
I got the Bunches of Oats coupon a couple months ago from that site. I’m guessing it’s not available on the site any more.
I have a question on the link for the Barilla pasta, it’s a manufacturer coupon with a target logo. But I see it’s on the Target web site. Does that mean it is NOT a target specific coupon? I am asking in general for other products too, if the coupons on this Target web site can or can’t be doubled with Manufacturer coupons. I thought since they were on the target web site they were target coupons and could also be used with MF coupons.
If they are NOT target specific coupons and can’t be used with MF coupons from the paper etc, how do you tell the difference?
Thanks!
Jules
Jules – Set aside where you print the coupons, since they are being printed from the Target website. Instead focus on what the coupon says. A box on the top of the coupon will say either “Manufacturer coupon” or “Target coupon”. If it says “Manufacturer Coupon” then it can be used anywhere as long as language elsewhere on the coupon does not prohibit it. I hope that helps!
the honey bunches is still there…………go to the site……….look under promotions……..then where they ask for your info, you don’t have to give it, just hit something like “sneek peak what we offer” and that will take you right to it.
I went to promos and “sneak preview”, but Coupon link wasn’t active. I’ve never signed up before, either.
Hi, Carrie! Thank you SO much for this site. I have one question about Rainbow…do they double coupons that say “do not double”? The reason I ask is that some of the coupons that I have printed from the links above say that. Thanks again for all the work you put into this!
Don’t forget Roundy’s Fresh Split Chicken Breasts for 79 cents lb. Limit 2 packages.
I’ve never seen a better price all year long.
I think the Daisy sour cream deal would actually be 50 cents after doubled coupon – an even better deal!
Carrie: how do you know about the P& G $20 promo??
Angie – the P&G promo was in the Rainbow ad this weekend.
Was there only the P&G insert in the paper this week, or am I missing something?
The coupons I have for the yoplait fiber one yogurt say do not double, does anybody know if Rainbow will still double them.
The Yoplait “buy $20 of retail-priced Yoplait, get $5 credit towards your next purchase” is valid through tomorrow, December 2. I checked today while a picked up a couple items at Rainbow.
I have a catalina from several weeks ago–when you buy 4 Solo products you will get $4 back! Even better deal if it works at your store………
Has anyone had success trying to use MF coupons from cub at rainbow? They should work right?
Yes, Rainbow doubles my printed coupons that say “do not double”. Carrie has said that it’s Rainbow paying for the doubling, so it is up to their discretion.
I found the link to the Hunny bunches on the DiGiorno link….
Has anybody found the DiGiorno link?
Also I couldn’t find the Barilla pasta on the Target site….am I blind?
Thanks for this GREAT information! The Olay deal isn’t too bad for regenerist products (if you use them. My Copp’s has the regenerist serum on sale for 20% off ($19.99 – $4.00) plus the $3 coupon from Sunday’s paper makes it very reasonable at $12.99. Plus, it can be put toward the $20 rebate when you buy $50.
My experience is that Rainbow DOES double coupons that say “Do Not Double”.
Just a few observations-
Chinet Comfort Cups coupons isn’t printing. What do I need to do?
Post Honey Bunches of Oats coupon is out of copies.
Knorr’s Side Dishes coupon is our of copies.
Where do you find the Murray Sugar cookies coupon? I can’t find it on the site.
The Counrty Crock Butter ends up being $1.50 for the 2. They are origianlly around $3.50 each.
Carrie, so how DO you know the $20 for the P&G promo is based on sale amount ? (you said to ask! :)
Jules – I have personally tried it based on full price to see what would happen. Nothing happens, not coupon toward next purchase is generated. Of course it could have changed since then, but I am not willing to try it again.
As a neophyte here I can’t help with any deals, but have a question, for the P&G products, I have the coupons for the Pantene yeah ! As there are three teenage daughters + one soon to be + me, and most with nappy hair, I am practically jumping for joy at recieving the coupons does the $20 have to be after coupons as well as sale price? Thanks
Naomi – After sale price, but before coupons! Have fun stocking up!
Great week at Rainbow for me. I did two trips through the line this morning and managed to save 79% not including the $3.25 off my next purchase of milk. I could have done better if I had remembered to print off a couple more coupons and had more time to spend in the store, but I can’t complain too much!
Now I’m debating swinging by on the way home from work and buying $6 worth of Yoplait products to get up the the $20 I need to get $5 off my next purchase since it ends tomorrow. Unfortunately I don’t really need anymore yogurt at the moment, so I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
I got $100 for $40 this morning, and I think I’m going to go back tonight.
FYI-Gold N Plump boneless skinless chicken is on sale 2/$10 and there are coupons on coupons.com. I print those out whenever they are there because they usually last for a few months.
Our church gives out grocery gift cards for needy families so I picked 1 up at Rainbow and it counted for the $25 dollars for doubling coupons. I got great deals and I will get to help a needy family.
Solo Catalina:
Purchase any Solo cups, plates, or bowls (excludes Solo cutlery, straws, and for season items) between 11/12 and 12/5
Buy 2 and get $1 oyno
Buy 3 and get $3 oyno
Buy 4+ and get $4 oyno
Combine with free Bare product wyb 4 and $.75/1 IPs as Carried noted above.
Pantene deal is great timing. I have the coupons, but doen’t necessarily need all that many bottles but that is listed on a want list for a charity that we donate to! Yeah!
Sue (and anyone else)
So you got a gift card that counted towards your 25$ for coupon doubling? Does anyone know if you can keep it yourself and just turn around and use that on your next trip through the line? It seems like that would be an awesome deal, so awesome it might border on too much.
But what a great idea for charity too, I think I will do that.
Thanks, Jules
I did a gift card this morning for our Bless a Family at church as well. The gc was $25 and I bought 1 sour cream, 2 yogurts, 2 Ragu, and 3 Rice/roni and my free milk. After q’s, my total was $25.61. I did 2 other transactions too so I don’t feel badly about doing it this way. You can surely use the gc yourself, but I think if the system got manipulated too many times it would go away (not work).
We help each other out when we find ways to use the system AND help Roundy’s at the same time by purchasing stuff. Although a gc is good money to them as I’m sure they see alot of them paid out but never used. my 2 cents…
Did anyone try to use any of the MFR coupons that had the Target logo at your Rainbow yet? It says MFR so it should work, but I’m wondering if anyone tried it and what the cashier said? (i.e. Lean Cuisine)
The Dawn Hand Renewal is NOT a part of the Dawn Dishsoap deal….
Jules – Just bought a GC and it counted as well – had to try it when I saw that post. Thank you for that post! I buy GC’s for my in-laws since they watch my kids as much as possible so they’re not shelling out for food. This is huge for me!
Solo catalina worked and remember that the PG is on your receipt not a catalina, I was confused. :)
In a way, the gift card would be so much less of a hassle for both me AND for the cashier. No more guessing!!! But, yeah, I would hate for it to be seen as abuse and disappear. I would definitely do at least one card a week, starting tonight!
The General Mills cereal deal was particularly good this time for me. I purchased 2 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, 2 boxes of Chex and 2 boxes of Honey-nut cheerios for around $22. $10 was deducted because of the deal. And I was able to use 3 different $1/2 coupons bringing the price to about $6. But then I’ll get $3.25 off next time because of the milk coupon it generates, so that brings it to 6 good sized boxes of GM cereals for $2.75. AND…. 4 of the boxes have the movie codes I’ve been collecting. Those 2 movie tickets are worth at least $20 (because they are no restriction/anytime movie tickets). So, I’d say we came out ahead because we do almost always get to a movie over winter break. I don’t need that much cereal in the pantry right now, but I know whatever I donate will be helpful to a family.
Also, I had been wishing Dannon yogurt would be on sale, but I didn’t see it in the Rainbow ad. However, they’re big containers were on sale for $2.00. I was so grateful I had the recent $1 off Dannon from a recent paper – I go through a quart of plain yogurt every week, and I got it free today again. (Thanks, Carrie, for helping me realize that is possible and even normal!). And, lastly, one more deal to share. There is a new “premium” Blue Bunny ice cream that usually costs $6.19 (would anyone pay that much for it??!!), but it is on sale for $2.49. I know that’s not a rock bottom price for ice cream, but for a good quality variety, that’s pretty good.
I tried using the Lean Cuisine coupon printed from Target’s website and the cashier said I couldn’t, even though it says it is a mfr coupon. She said because it had the Target logo on it, they don’t accept it.
I just talked to the store manager at my Rainbow (Chaska) about the Lean Cuisine coupons with the Target logo. He said because it is a mfr coupon they do accept them. I am stopping in tonight with my receipt and my coupons to get reimbursed!
Yes MQs printed off the Target website work at Rainbow – cashier just ran it through.
I had three awesome runs today.
First, I did the P&G deal purchasing 1 downy, 2 crest, 2 pantene, 1 cg mascara and 1 dawn. Also added bananas and 2 C&H sugar. My total after MQs and $10 gift card (Roundy’s reward deal), my total out-of-pocket was $4.44 and I received a Q for $5.00.
Second, I did the GM cereal deal and added oranges and 2 solo products. After $10 deduction for cereal, MQs and $5 checkout value coupon from the P&G deal, my total out-of-pocket was $2.52 and I received a $1 off next order catalina and a $3.25 Q for milk.
Third, I purchased 4 Tony’s pizza and 1 CA Kitchen pizza, 2 bags Hershey’s Christmas candy, 2 LaChoy products, 2 pkgs chicken breasts, kemps cottage cheese and daisy sour cream. After MQs my total was $17.77.
So all-in-all, I spent $24.73 for $105.45 worth of groceries!
I talked with the manager at the Eden Prairie store, and they would not accept the Lean Cuisine Manuf. (Target) Coupon. I used my best logic, but they refused. Not great customer service at all.
Had a good night tonight – $114 value for $35 OOP. My best transaction $2.55 oop, savings of $25.80 made the cashier laugh.
Shelly-thanks for the tip on the Blue Bunny premium ice cream! I had 5 $1 off coupons for it, so I got 5 1.75 quarts for $.50 each after each coupon was doubled!!!
I think tonight was an all-time record for me…I got $109 worth of groceries for $11.20 OOP. I got 18 boxes of cereal (will donate most), 3 gallons milk, 6 bottles Pantene, 3 multipacks of yogurt, 3 # onions, 2 cans Muir Glen tomatoes, and Daisy sour cream. I even miscalculated one of my transactions, so those coupons didn’t double! Thanks for making grocery shopping so cheap and FUN Carrie!!
I had an amazing time shopping tonight (for better and for worse – good sales, grouchy cashier). I took pictures of everything when I got home and will put up a Results post in the morning. I haven’t calc’ed all the numbers, but one transaction I spent $3.xxx and saved $69.xx. On that they shorted me $2 (I didn’t make a fuss about it) so it should have been $1.xx. I also forgot to use my milk coupon and reached my $20 for yoplait so I left the store with $8.25 in coupons/credits for my next purchase. I also stopped into Walgreens and had the most quick and easy time you could imagine. I’ll give you more details tomorrow.
Carrie-Do they keep track of my Yoplait total and tell me once I’ve reached it or am I suppose to keep thack of it?
Carrie- I’m am saving about 60% each week on my groceries, which I personally think is great!! How do you end up saving the large amounts that you do? I don’t get it?
Angela – Tomorrow I will share the details and photos of my receipts as proof :)
