Everyone everywhere seems to be running gift card promotions this time of year. I have rounded up all sorts of buy this, get that-type deals, but want your help to build this list.
Through Christmas I will update and re-post this list once per week to include the deals that readers leave in the comments or that I find. Note that not all these deals have corresponding web pages to authenticate them, so please call your local store to confirm they are participating. Space Alien has a thing if you buy a $25 gift card you get a $5 gift card free.
Maynards has one too. For every $100 gift card, get a $25 gift card. I signed up for their e-mails and they sent a deal for every $100, get $30.
BD’s Mongolian has a deal. Buy a $50 gift card, receive (2) $5 cards reedeemable anytime during 2010! You could get a meal to go, their one-trip stir fry is only 8.99, and you get tortilla and rice with it. So, a great meal for $4 and change.
In addition, you get a calendar which has (24) $5 coupons, and you can use (2) each month. the fine print says you have to dine-in, and must order an entree and a drink. But it says (1) coupon per person. This means 2 people could dine out, and use both of the coupons. So, for about $18 ( which would include tip and tax), two people could dine out on stir fry, rice, tortilla, and a drink. If you feel like splurging, they have mini desserts for $2 a piece. Just the perfect amount!

The Melting Pot is offering $100 with $100 purchase. The free $100 has to be used quarterly ($25 each) throughout 2010.

Parasole owns Pittsburgh Blue, in addition to a number of other Twin Cities restaurants, and has a dining group you can join for free and accumulate points which turn into dollars off your dining bill. Check out the dining club, and the restaurants included, at http://www.parasole.com/diningclub/. If you dine at any of these restaurants, the dining club plus the $25 for every $100 in gift cards can add up to some great savings.
Also, if you are planning on doing any of the gift card deals and want to use the gift cards on a meal at the time you are purchasing them, I would call ahead to see if the restaurant allows that. I have already done the Outback Steakhouse deal and found that the gift cards are not activated until the day after you purchase them. This was fine with me since we go there enough, but just want to give everyone a head’s up in case they were planning on purchasing and using them in the same day.

El Rodeo mexican restaurant is buy $50.00 gift certificate get a $10.00 one. A good reasonable place to eat. They split the certificates up for me too so I got two 25.00 and one 10.00 Great gifts. They are in Maple Grove

Biella in Excelsior (super yummy) has a gc deal, too. When you buy $50 in gc you get $20 free. You can also sign up (on their website) to receive deals by email. I just received a coupon for a free bottle of wine (or two beers or two rail drinks I believe). They also have a three course deal on Monday nights for $17.50 and you receive a movie ticket for Excelsior Dock Theater.
Not sure what areas they’re located in, but Red Robin is also doing a buy $25 in gift cards get $5 bonus bucks, or 20% off $500 in gift cards. I love Red Robin (can you say unlimited steak fries??)
