  1. Lisa says:

Buy 1 Russell Stover Chocolate for $4.99, Earn $1 Extra Care Buck (Limit 1). I have been saving the man. coupons from the Rainbow ads, so those would work here, too. They also have these at Walgreens and Synders for 3.99. Do you think we could get these 50% off after Christmas? I’m wondering if I should wait; they would be nice V-Day presents.

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Lisa – Based on prior year’s experience, yes this kind of candy will go on sale after Christmas at CVS and Walgreens. I did as you suggest last year and bought two boxes for Valentine’s Day. Popped them in the freezer and they lasted just fine.

  3. Alison says:

Could someone with more experience reading CVS circulars answer this question for me? On page 14 they say that you can earn $5 ECBs with the purchase of the Sonicare electric toothbrush which is on sale for $49.99 with card.

Here’s the question – right underneath it says that the replacement brushes are on sale for $24.99. Would you earn $5 ECBs if you bought just the replacement brushes? I’m guessing not, but it’s the replacement brushes that I need and would love to be able to earn ECBs for them.

  4. Jenny says:

Alison-I went to the CVS in Mounds View this afternoon and YES the replacement heads were marked as on sale and you would receive the $5 ECB. HTH!

  5. Katy says:

Question for all of you about getting the CVS circular. I used to get it in a mailing during the week with some other flyers, but am not getting that any more. I also usually buy the Star Tribune and there is no ad in there.

How are all of you getting the CVS ad?

  6. Pam says:

One more question on use of ECBs. When people are saying they get free things and only paying pennies OOP, is that for the tax? Doesn’t appear that ECBs or even their CVS issued dollars off certificates will cover tax. Is that others’ experience as well? I couldn’t find doco on their web site that addressed this. For example, today I paid .16 for the actual items (using coupons and ECBs) plus $3+ in tax. Which is really good, so not complaining. I’m just trying to fully understand.

  7. Pam says:

    Katy,
    I look at their on-line site if I don’t get a flyer. Here’s this week’s: http://cvs.shoplocal.com/cvs/default.aspx?action=entry&pretailerid=-99973&siteid=172&storeID=2589311
Usually see Store Circular or Weekly Ads link in the upper right hand side of their home page.

  8. Amy says:

I was only able to find the Almy Intense I-color coupon on the link above. Amy I missing something?

  9. Joe says:

Yes ECB do not cover tax. MN law states that free items are still subject to tax on the full amount of the sales price.

  10. Amy says:

Tried out CVS for the first time tonight. An employee told me to scan my Extra Care Card at the price checker in the middle of the store and I might get a coupon for money off my order. It said “No coupons available at this time”. I’m sure that is because it was a brand-new Extra Care Card. The employee told me he had a woman get a coupon for $5 off a $15 purchase today. Well worth scanning the card each time you shop to see what you get!

  11. Alison says:

Amy – I often get those $5 off $15 coupons from the coupon machine/price checker – they are my favorite – it always allows me to add some things that I need along with the ECB deals and still get everything for free or very close to free.
