You can use coupons put out by Target with the Target logo on it at Cub and Rainbow?
Tried to print the Aquapod coupon but it says the campaign is over?
I have not been able to use the coupons on Target’s site with the Target logo on them, but they are still manufacturer’s coupons, at Cub in Fridley. They said they are Target coupons and they will not take them. Even when I pointed out that they were manufacturer coupons…they wouldn’t budge, not that is not to say that another cashier might feel differently….I have found in my last three trips to cub that 2 times I was made to wait while the head cashier checked my coupons to make sure they were not counterfeit (printable internet ones only) and one time the gal didn’t even blink.
consistency is not Cub’s strong point….
Hi! My Cub ad says Cub milk is $1.98/gal.
Thanks for the site!
I don’t think 2.98 is a good price for soda. I won’t pay a penny more than 2.50 and it will go on sale for 2.00 occasionally and I usually stock up then.
I also had a problem using manufacture coupons with Target’s logo on them at my Cub in Duluth, MN. I was told it was an ALL CUB policy not to take any mfg. coupons with ANY OTHER STORE’S LOGO on them even if they are mfg. coupons. They even had a person from the business office come down to talk with me. Any one else having this problem and/or do they have a written policy on this?
When I do my grocery shopping, I usually start out at Walmart. They always match Cub’s prices, and they almost always undercut Cub’s deals by one or two cents. I just sort out my price matched items for the cashier to scan at the end of the order, and I show her the ad price. I haven’t had any problems, and I get my shopping done in one trip.
Coupons.com has $1.00 off Carl Budding Tub Lunchmeat also.
Kimberly,
I used my $5/4 Kellogs cereal coupon at the Walgreens in Duluth (final price was like $.74 a box). At first the cashier thought I had given him a Target coupon until I pointed out that it’s a manufacturer coupon and they took it without any problems. It scanned just fine at the check out. Maybe you might want to try them instead?
I have found less headache to go through the “quick lanes” where you scan and bag your own groceries to be my best bet when going to Cub. That way, I do not really get questioned on expired coupons, can use my bogo coupons and not get questioned about them. The only time I really need help from the cashier is when I have a free item and they need to write in the item that was free. So far it works slick for me…and they even have a code listed on the monitor for your 5 cent credit for reusable bags.
I work at Rainbow. And you can not use the coupons with the Target log on.
I couldn’t get the St. Cloud Cub to take the Target logo coupon either. Also couldn’t get Cashwise or Coborns to take it either. Even after I explained that it was a manufacturer’s coupon. Hopefully Kellogg’s cereals will go on sale at Target before it expires.
I have emailed a contact at SuperValu corporate to ask about Cub’s official position on the Target coupons since there is no language that says “redeemable only at Target.” I’ll let you know what I find out.
Just an FYI on the Progresso soups, the great deal is limited to about 5 types: Vegetable, minestrone, hearty tomato, Green pea bacon, and one other. (at least at CUB in Brooklyn Park (610 and Colorado). Still a great deal and will be a great charity item.
Good tip, Jules, to give the cheap Progresso soup to a food shelf if we don’t like the flavors that are on sale for .48.
I worked at a couple different food shelves and most people like soup, esp this time of year.
Carrie,
Thanks for checking on the whole Target coupon thing, this is getting annoying. it will be nice to have a policy on this. Also when you find out can you put a link or something we can print to bring into the stores to show the cashiers etc.. so it will avoid all the hassels. That is that they approve it :)
Beef Boneless Chuck Roast $1.99/lb
Sale price, no coupon needed
Final price: $1.99/lb
Same thing is a $1.78/lb at Rainbow this week.
I like to use the Progresso soups to stretch meals. Lentil soup is used similar to condensed soups and stretch it by making a quick rice hotdish (serving of 8) – just mix cooked rice and browned lean pork sausage. The tomato soup gets doctored up with FF 1/2 and 1/2 pint or evaporated condensed milk for the “cream of” flavor….yum.
I went to coupons.com and tried to install the printer, but my security software said it had detected a trojan horse. Has anyone else encountered this? How to get my coupons?!
Does anyone know where to find Cub’s 3 day sale items I looked on there web site with little success.
Riverview Theater in Minneapolis is showing A Christmas Story for $1 admission $1 drinks and $1 popcorn. Bring in a non-perishable canned good per person (Progresso Soup?) and get your admission free. All proceeds are donated to a local food shelf.

I contacted cub corporate a few weeks ago about why they are not putting the three day item on their site. It is now under their ads.
I have asked before and din’t get a response. What is red plum . I have looked through the paper and I have never seen any coupons that you talk about in the red plum insert. Further explanations needs to be done.
Sophie,
If you are new to PYD I encourage you to read the link “learn to read this list” at the top of this thread. It clearly explains what Red Plum is, as well as Smart Source, GM, and P and G inserts. We are a group of respectful, ethical couponers on this site, and have a good discussion weekly about sales/tips etc. Your insistance of an explanation of RP (“Further explanations needs to be done.”) was quite demanding, and rude . A lot information is here in links, you just need to take ownership and find it youself. And if you need our help finding it or looking for answer, “demanding” an explanation is probably not going to get you one. If I misread your tone I apoligize, but it sure didn’t sound like an appreciative request for help to me.
It IS an RP insert, there was one last week but it was small and not typical. There was none the week of Thanksgiving because of the ads. http://www.sundaycouponpreview.com gives a list of what inserts go out weekly. Some people have found that papers often don’t have the inserts in them and need to try other stores.
Jules
A correction on my last post, I put “demanding” in quotes but those were not sophie’s words and should not have been in quotations my apologies to sophie.
Why do so many of you WANT to use Target coupons at stores other than Target? Stores are not obligated to sell you stuff for nothing. I want a good deal too but you have to realize they need to make a profit to keep the store open! All this good deals shopping is awesome – but just remember it’s not a publicly owned entity just because it’s a large company. They have a right to make their own rules and polices. If you owned a store you would have policies against getting cheated too. Right?
