These are the items on sale at Aldi near rock bottom prices. Aldi’s prices are regional, so prices at your store may vary.
If you’ve never shopped at Aldi bring a quarter (not 25 cents, but a quarter) for the refundable deposit on your cart and your own bags. They take cash or debit card, but not credit card. Find an Aldi near you. Remember that their produce is ripe for eating when you buy it, so be prepared to eat it, freeze, can it or otherwise use it up right away.
Your turn: Other than eating and juicing them, what ideas do you have for how-to use the navel oranges that are on sale this week?
Produce
Grapefruit. $0.29 each. If the fruit are decent-sized, then this could be a good price. I think 3 large grapefruit have to weigh about 1.25 pounds which would be about $0.70/lb.
Navel Oranges. $0.37/lb (sold in 4-pound bag for $1.49). This is a rock bottom price and if you eat a lot of oranges or recipes for using them up, then this is stock up time!
Russet Potatoes. $0.14 per pound (sold in 10-pound bag for $1.39). I have said many times that I often buy potatoes in bulk. I make a huge batch of mashed potatoes, then freeze them in meal-sized portions for a quick side dish on a night when I don’t want to cook.
Onions. $0.17 per pound (sold in 3-pound bag for $0.49). This is a rock bottom price. If you use a lot of chopped onions when you cook consider this. Buy a couple bags, dice the onions, spread them out on a cookie sheet, freeze them , and then transfer the frozen onions into a Ziploc for storage. They’re quick to add into scrambled eggs, soups, casseroles and crock pot recipes and you will have gotten them at a stellar price.
Other Groceries
Powdered or Brown Sugar $0.95
Hams starting at $0.79/lb

I’ve been waiting for a good sale so I can make orange marmalade! That’s what I’ll be doing with them.
I appreciate you putting Aldi on your website. This is one flyer that is often not in my Start Tribune.
Does anyone know what Aldi is charging for white rice these days? It looks like rice is almost $1/LB in the grocery stores. Thanks!
