I see $10 off 2010 Entertainment Big Coupon Book Coupon Good at Walgreens in this week’s ad, does anyone know the current price? Are they typically found near the register’s?
Amy – For teh Twin Cities they are $35 and yes, they are at the register.
Does anyone know if stores accept coupons for razors (ex. “$4/1 gillette fusion razor”) when you buy refills? I hate to keep buying the whole razor when all we need are the refills. Thanks!
MA – Nope, the razor coupons can only be used on whole razors. That’s the deal – they want you to buy the whole razor for next-to-nothing and then make limited coupons available for the refills.
I just price matched the Nivea lip balm at Target for $.99. The I used a Target issued coupon for $1 off Nivea lip balm. It was an old coupon from the Sunday paper that I had for awhile — I can’t remember what insert it was from. The coupon expires on 11/30. End result — free lip balm!
I received a 3 off Gillette Fusion Refill coupon in the Procter in Gamble that came in early November. If you buy the refills you can get a free Shave Gell, Deodorant or Body wash and there are coupons for those too in he same P&G insert.
Hey, Laura, I have a couple of those Target Nivea lip balm coupons! I think I’m going to do what you did and score some free lip balm by price matching the Walgreens price! I would not have thought to do that otherwise…I haven’t done any price matching deals, yet.
@Jen – there is a JCPenney 50% off eyeglasses ad on the front of my 10/11 Red Plum. The date is also printed (in VERY small print) on the outside fold of the cover. HTH!
Laura Z & Val – According to the Target Price Matching policy that Carrie has posted, they are supposed to apply the coupon before doing the price match. I believe that Target has Nivea lip balm on sale this week for $2.49. So after the Target coupon is taken off, the Target price is $1.49. Because the Target price is still greater than the Walgreen’s price, they are supposed to give it to you for .99, not .99 minus the $1 Target coupon. That is how I understand it anyway. I know Laura got it for free, but the cashier must not understand the policy (or I don’t). To everyone: Just be careful on how you use these things or they will take the coupons away from us entirely. Don’t take advantage of the cashier that “doesn’t care” because if the policies aren’t followed, we will suffer, not the cashier and not Target.

The Walgreens in Roseville would not take the Mfg cpn and give a RR for the Fusion razor. I was told it was either/or. Has anyone else had their mfg cpn accepted and been awarded the RR?
I did the Ecotrin deal today stated above and purchased M&M’s (2 for $5 and used the December coupon booklet for a $1.00 off of M&M’s.) Thus, I got (2) bags of M&M’s with the $4 dollar overage. Yippee-I love free chocolate!
I had a frustrating day at Walgreens…since when is it a crime to save money? I had a cashier who was unwilling to accept my coupons! She also wouldn’t let me use coupons from the Wag’s Children’s Activity Books in the same transaction as purchasing the book. I don’t mind doing another transaction, but by then, it seemed like she was trying to be difficult on purpose. I did learn an important lesson though…when it comes to things like the toothbrushes and the contact solution, you cannot buy more than the stated deal and expect to get your register rewards (for example, buy 2 contact solutions and get two RR). They only work for one set. I wish I would have realized that sooner…oh well, lesson learned.
Walgreens in Plymouth on Rockford Road has a Buy One, Get One pre bundled package of the contact solution that gives (1) Register Reward. So, $7.99 for the package of (2) minus $1.00 MFC = $6.99. Get $7.99 Register Reward. Yippee! They were near the cosmetic counter, not back by the contact solution.
I haven’t been able to find the Children’s Coloring book yet. Has anyone found them local to Minneapolis?

They are in the aisle with the toys and books. The usually are out front and center, but I found that since they’ve put out the Christmas books, they are hiding behind them. Dig a little bit; hopefully you’re able to find one without too much trouble. :)

If you’re looking for the contact solution in Maple Grove off of Weaver Lake/Elm Creek Blvd (by JCPenney), there is a huge rack of them next to the pharmacy. They’re marked as $9.99, but it’s the 12oz solution and rings up at $7.99 with a $8 RR.
I think I found the acivity books, the front said they contained $20 in savings, but there weren’t any coupons inside. Any one else have the same thing happen?
Okay…I am frustrated and thought I did well until I got home and realized that I didnt recieve one of my reward bucks. Since I am kinda new to this, can someone explain to me what I did wrong?
First Transaction – 4 childrens toothbrushes 4/$10, 1 Gillette Fusions Razor $8.99 – Used $4 coupon on razor and two $1/2 for toothbrushes. Received a $4 Reward and a $5 Reward. OOP – $14.89
Second Transaction – Goody Elastic Hairbands $2, Quilted Northern $4.29, $.29 piece of candy – used $1 coupon for toilet paper and $5 reward bucks (from toothbrushes). Was supposed to get $2.00 reward bucks back for hairbands but didnt get them.???? – OOP $1.29
Third Transaction – 2 Arm & Hammer Cat litters 2/$10, 2 Nivea Chapsticks $.99 and two clearance dog toys. – Used $.50 on one Nivea, B1G1 on nivea, 2 $3.00 off cat litter and two reward bucks for $1.00 (from TP) and $4.00 (from razor). OOP – $3.14
My question is why didnt my rewards print on the hairbands? I was wondering why my third transaction was higher than I expected but I didnt realize why until I got home. Thanks for your help and Thanks Carrie for saving us a ton of money!!!
Oh and I didnt find the childrens activity books anywhere in both my walgreens so I couldnt use that one :-(
I heard some of the goody elastics were not ringing up correctly to give the RR but I NEVER ever leave the store without checking my register rewards and receipt to see if everything turned out OK. Then if there is a problem, I tell the cashier immediately. Always make sure you know how many RR you should get and at the very least COUNT them as they come out.
Ladies, please tell me what stores you were at when you found the walgreens children’s activity book, as I have looked in several stores with no luck…..HELP!!!!
