Carrie– my Eagan Rainbow only ever takes the price of the milk, never the whole $3.50 or whatever the Q is for
Can you tell me why I can not ever seem to print the Pillsbury toaster strudle coupon?
Does anyone know of any Cheez-It coupons? That is what hubby and the kids would love from the deal this week.
As far as the milk coupons, my Chaska store always just takes the total amount of the coupon.
So theoretically, since the shelf price will be above $20, I can get 8 boxes of cereal for $20, use 5 $1 coupons and get them all doubled right? Has anyone been to Rainbow yet and seen if they changed the shelf price to $2.50, which I’ve heard they sometimes do?
Kashi campaign is over..darn!
Rachel B – there were cheez-it coupons in one of the Sunday inserts a few weeks ago for $1.50/2.
Lee – Carrie talks about your printing problem somewhere on this website.
I Can’t Believe Its Not Butter is 2/$4. There were coupons in one of the Sunday inserts for $1/2, making is $1 each after doubled Q. There were also some printable Qs on their website, but they are out of prints. I received a Catalina print-out a few weeks ago saying if you buy 2 ICBINB during November (I can’t remember the exact dates) that you’ll receive a Catalina coupon for $2 off your next order. I only wish I had more Qs because we love this stuff.
Does anyone know for sure that the Special K crackers are included in the Kelloggs deal? I’m pretty sure my store doesn’t even have them (Chaska). I looked one time and even had an employee look for me and I don’t think they’re there.
Going back to last weeks discussion on the Blaine Rainbow not accepting black and white internet coupons — After my coupons were turned down last Wed. I sent an email to this particular Rainbow expressing my frustrations. I got an email back from the store manager asking for my phone # so he could call me and discuss it further. Well, he never called me, but I just called that same Rainbow to ask for their internet coupon policy and I was told that they will accept them in black and white as long as they can read the watermark. So I am going to give it a try again tomorrow. . .
I got the last free milk deal and it was $3.70 off the the purchase of my milk.
…Sorry, I misread the question.
Last time the milk coupon said “Up to $3.70″ and the cashier had to key in the amount.
FYI–The Lloyd’s coupon is in the 11/1 SS.
Lis
I’m not sure if it’s all of them, but my Rainbow (Coon Rapids) has an ongoing deal where if you buy $20 in Kellogg’s cereal you get $5 off your next order but you have to use a Roundy’s Rewards card. It goes through Dec. 2. So with that deal, if you used 5 $1off coupons, you could get 8 boxes of cereal etc. for $5!! Sweet!
Can you get $3 off 3 Chex cereals multiple times in one order? Thanks.
Aira – typically you will only get those kinds of $’s off one per transaction. I’m thinking of doing 2 transactions to make it happen twice tomorrow. hth
Rachel B.
The Cheez-it coupons are in the 10/4 Red Plum.
Does anyone know if there was a nature sweet tomatoes coupon and where it is? I remember seeing one awhile ago. It probably expired by now….but just thought I’d check.
Thanks Allison!
If you buy 5 of the Duncan Hines cakemixes you can send in for this rebate

The Johnson’s coupon states “Any body care product” does anyone know if the Johnson’s baby bubble bath and wash will work with this coupon? It looks like it’s meant for “adult” products? Thanks!
I did end up finding some Johnson and Johnson’s coupons… you do need to register with their site but most are $1/1 if you’re interested in doubling a baby product coupon this week for the free bath toy set offer.

Regarding the free milk coupon- I believe it has to do more with the vendor who is offering the free milk promotion than the store. The last free coupon from General Mills (last week) took the full 3.25 off (I just checked my receipt…my milk purchase was $1.78 but I got 3.25 off). BUT the one a few weeks back from DiGiorno pizza had a little sqaure in the corner to write the amount and that one only deducted the price of the milk “up to 3.50″- so I only got 1.89 off. ALL of my free milk coupons from General Mills have not had the box to write the price in and have deducted the FULL “up to ___ off” price at our Eagan Rainbow. I haven’t used a coupon for free milk from Kellogs before so I’m not sure how it will print.
Thanks, with the help of my husband, I did finally get the toaster strudel to print. However, the coupon is a Do Not Double. Final cost will be $1.25 instead of the $ 0.25.
Lee– those coupons will double–it doesn’t refer to the store doubling, but rather using 2 of the same coupon for one product- I believe? Anyway, I routinely use them on DC nite.
SarahBB & Lee,
The Do Not Double DOES refer to the STORE doubling the q, but some stores will let it go through. If the first number in the barcode is a 5, the registers will double it automatically. Some cashiers have been reported to back it out though if they read it. It’s one of those things that YMMV (your mile may vary) and can be frustrating if you have a whole stack of q’s that say it.. Apparently stores do not get reimbursed for the double by the mfr if the q says DND and the store chooses to double it.

I stopped by Rainbow on the way to work today to do the Kellogg’s cereal deal and found to my surprise that a third free milk coupon printed out (up to $3.60 off). The fine print said “purchase 3 mini wheats cereals between XX and XX, get free milk.” So make at least three of your 8 boxes mini wheats and you’ll get a third milk free! I believe all three coupons had the box to write in the actual price.
Kashi GoLean Crunch was only $3.75 BOGO at the Bloomington Rainbow – I used four $1.50/1 from the vocalpoint mailer to get four boxes for $.38 each! Plus the Kellogg’s deal also gets you $5 OYNO if you buy $20 in Kellogg’s cereal (and as Nate said if you buy 3 MiniWheats you get another milk coupon). So with double coupons today I paid $11.40 for 8 boxes of Kelloggs and 4 boxes of Kashi, plus got $5 ONYO and 3 milk coupons!
The Kelloggs cereal shelf prices are still in the $3-4 range so the 8 items easily make up 1 transaction. I had so many Kelloggs coupons that I did 5 $1/1 doubled and three 75c/1 that didn’t double but it was still a great deal. I also bought a $2.19 gallon of milk and got $3.25 off from last week’s free milk deal from General Mills. Total OOP on my 1st transaction was $6.69 plus 2 milk coupons for up to $3.00 each – so it was like getting $6 back.
I did 3 transactions (2 the first round and then 1 more) with 3 kids under 4 in tow. Felt like a MAJOR accomplishment.
Coffee Mate creamer $1/1 Q is no longer printing
I did 2 transactions today. I did the Kelloggs in both of them. For my second transaction it did give me the $5 off that order. I ended up with 24 boxes of cereal (Kelloggs and General Mills), a pack of cheese, gallon of milk (free from last week) and a lime for 24. 03. I also have 4 free milk coupons and $5 off of my next transaction! Thanks so much Carrie!!! And to all the others who comment!
Did anyone get the Bertollli’s coupon to work? It took me to a coupon for butter…
Anyone get the Roundy’s Rewards GC yet for spending $525, (is the first level I think?) I think I should hit that point tonite on my first transaction–hoping to get a $10 GC to use on 2nd transaction–is that how it works?
The Rainbow in Woodbury had a sign up today that said it won’t be undersold for turkeys, just bring in the competitors ad and they will match it, I’m assuming that all Rainbows are doing the same.
Hi Sarah BB, Lee, and Valerie,
Valerie is right except on one point…. at least I think so.
It is my understanding that the manufacturer gives the retailer the face value of the coupon (plus 8 cents, I think) and NEVER gives them the double value, no matter what the Q says or what promotion the store chooses to run.
Doubling is something that comes off the store’s bottom line and they are free to run such a promotion or not. If that were not the case, Rainbow would have nothing to lose by having no limit to how many Qs will double per transaction, and no reason to set the $25 minimum. In fact, it would be in their best interest to have no limits on double coupons in order to draw more people into the store.
NOW, as to WHY the manufacturer sometimes chooses to print Do Not Double on their Qs… ya got me. And why they don’t just put a 9 at the beginning of the bar code of those DND Qs is also a mystery to me.
But while I have gone back and forth over the ethics of it, I figure if Rainbow wants to give me a dollar I am going to let them. They can call it anything they want and “Double Coupon Day” is as good as, “If you bring in coupons and spend $25, we will add up the amount of the first five Q ($1 or under) and give you that same amount off your order on top of your coupon savings Day!”
;-) Helen
Sarah BB, when you find out, please let u know! I’m passed the $525 amount now, and from the text at the bottom of the receipt, it looks like you just go to the service counter to get the gift card.
I JUST saw this: “Redeem anytime through 12/26/09″
I was going to let it add up, but I think it’s wiser to get the cards as I earn them. I’ll get $10 for every $525, so for busy me, it’s not worth the risk of forgetting and then losing it…
Check out how I did at Rainbow, it was my best trip ever!! I had some free product coupons that I’ve been saving for a good sale week. I was happy to redeem them to get me to $25.
http://abbyscents.blogspot.com/2009/11/week-of-1108-rainbow.html
Does anyone else have a blog that they track their purchases on? I love to see what people buy and how much they save.
Nate, thank you so much for the info about the 3 mini wheats producing the extras milk cat. Worked like a charm for me last night :)
Helen,
You are right, you just go to the service counter to get the gift card. I got mine yesterday! The clerk told me that the ONLY way to get the $ is to use the “notice” at the bottom of your receipt and I didn’t want to take the chance of losing it! I hate to think of all of the “notices” that will go unnoticed by people who shopped like I used to. Thanks Carrie for helping me become more aware of how I am spending and SAVING my money!
I’ve just started getting into the coupon deals and saving money, and I’m so thankful for all the information on this site!
Can someone clarify the $25 dollar rule for double Q day at Rainbow? Do you just need to buy 25 dollars of stuff at the original price? (example, if you bought 10 cereals at 2.50 that would be 25$, THEN you use 1$/1 per box (doubled), and your total OOP is 5$? I need to learn how to plan my purchase, is it based on original price?
Carrie, you reference rules at your Rainbow, can you tell us which one it is?
Thanks everyone for this great information!
Julie
Julie – You’re on the right track for how Rainbow Double Q works – except you can only double up to 5 mfg coupons $1.00 or less — which is why you’ll read that some people do multiple transactions. Also, some Rainbows treat the original price towards the $25, some count the sales price towards the $25. I think Carrie shops the Maple Grove Rainbow which she says uses the original price.
I wish there was another option for printing these coupons rather than downloading coupon printer – which I’m unable to do. So I miss out on so many of the deals! Even if there was a way to download to a pdf or something and then print from another printer. Anyone have any suggestions?
