Rainbow, Copps, Pick N Save and Copps Shopping List 11/15 – 11/21/09

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

roundys

There are a ton of great deals this week at Roundy’s stores (Rainbow Foods, Pick N Save and Copps), assuming you shop on Wednesday and have the face value of your coupon doubled. Thank you Mary, who helped put this list together.

Take note of two special coupons:

  • The Minneapolis paper had a coupon for turkey at $0.37 per pound and advertised a number of 3-Day sales that run through Wednesday. Did your paper get this too?
  • Stop by your Customer Service Desk and look for a “Nestle/Rainbow Holiday Recipe Helper”. It contains coupons for Roundy’s brand products like: pure vanilla extract, light brown sugar, mini marshmallows, chopped walnuts or pecans, vanilla wafers, and graham cracker crust.  The coupons all expire 1/2/10.

New to shopping at Rainbow, Pick N Save, or Copps? Learn how-to have your coupons doubled in value here.

New to Pocket Your Dollars? Learn to read this shopping list. You should be able to print each printable coupon twice.  If you have issues printing try the troubleshooting suggestions found here.

Your turn:I have tons of questions for you – did you find the coupon book at your store? Did your newspaper have the turkey coupon somewhere within it? What deal idea do you have for the ConAgra deal this week?

Comments

  1. Anne says:

    Carrie,

I noticed on the Roundy’s Brown Sugar that you did not double the price of the Roundy’s coupon to take the double value of $1 off of the $1.50 brown sugar. Does Roundy’s double their own coupon?

  2. Kirsten says:

The expiration date on the .37/lb Turkey coupon from the Sunday Star Tribune is is actually Thanksgiving day, 11/26! Though I will definitely be trying to use mine this Wednesday when I go for double coupon day. My Rainbow is out of stock on really good meat sale items on a regular basis, so I am really hoping that is not the case with the Turkeys.

  3. Barb says:

I found this Nestle coupon book last week and the new cashier being trained by an experienced one, doubled the special Nestle/Roundys coupons, making my brown sugar only 29 cents. I found my booklet on top of the baking items display near produce section. Yes Pioneer Press had special Rainbow 3 day sale ad also.

  4. Rachel B says:

Red Star yeast is 20% off and there is a $.75/1 coupon in the 11/15 SS

  5. Rachel B says:

Rhodes bread dough is 2/$6 and there is a $1/2 coupon in the 11/15 SS

  6. Rachel B says:

There is a Ritz crackers coupon on the same link as the Ragu coupon

  7. Kari says:

The Ragu is limit 2 per transaction.

  8. Mindy says:

Hi! Just wondering if Rainbow will double Internet manufacturer’s coupons that say “do not double”? Thank you!

  9. Joanna says:

Nabisco Premium Saltine Crackers (my family favorite) are 2/$5, after dbl $1 MQ, they’ll be .50. I’ll definitely be stocking up on these for soup/chili season.

King’s Hawaiian Rolls (another family favorite) 2/$4, after dbl $1/2 printable MQ, they’ll be $1 each.

  10. Sarah Beth says:

Any one else having trouble finding the Gold Medal Flour coupon?

  11. Lindsey M says:

Joanna – Where is the coupon for the saltine crackers?

  12. Michelle says:

What is the All You magazine? I’ve not seen that before (I’m new to your site). I take it it’s worth the purchase to get the coupons? Thanks!

  13. Kari says:

Michelle – All You is only sold at Walmart. You can also get a subsciption for it – I got 2 yrs for $20 – yes, it’s worth that for the coupons.

  14. Jessica says:

Is the sale on the butter, grapes, and Ragu in an instore ad? None of those are in my ad. Thanks for your help!

  15. Rachel B says:

The butter, grapes, and Ragu are on the ad on pg A13 in the Star Tribune. It’s a short sale, Sun-Wed of this week.

  16. Joanna says:

Lindsey M – Use $1.00/1 coupon from 11/8 Smartsource insert
its good on any Nabisco crackers

  17. Jolene Kass says:

ConAgra Deal: if you are by a Econo Foods thier ad has a $3.00 off your shopping order when you spend $15.00 in participating products. Could be a money maker.

  18. Jolene Kass says:

ConAgra Deal: it is a manufacter’s coupon (from Econo Foods)

  19. Rachel B says:

McCormick spices are 50% off, and there is a $.50/1 coupon in the 11/1 RP

  20. Alison says:

There is also a 40/1 coupon for the Valley Fresh Steamers (frozen veggies) in the 10/4 GM insert that expires 11/28 in case people want to use that one first before the 11/15 coupon which doesn’t expire until 1/9/10. Or you could use both!

  21. Stephanie Chaple says:

Note to Mac users- the betty crocker website will only print coupons from Safari. It does not work with Firefox.

  22. Michelle says:

Forgive me for asking this question here but I wasn’t sure where the correct place might be. I’m seeing a lot of “use coupon from ____ insert,” some of which are 6 weeks old. When you clip your coupons, do you clip EVERYTHING and save it just in case you might use it later? I am thinking back to coupons I didn’t clip a month ago because I never thought I’d use them, and now I’m regretting that I didn’t save them because I’d get what they were for, combining with newer deals, practically free!

I started envelopes today for all the various stores to stick the shopping lists I printed from here in with all the coupons they correspond to. This is FUN!! =D

  23. Lindsey M says:

Michelle – I keep the entire coupon inserts and put the date I got it on the front of each one. Then every week I just clip out what I need based on this website. If you search around on this website, you can find a number of postings about how people clip/store coupons. Check out the “Open Mic” postings for lots of tips and insights on how people do things.

  24. Lisa says:

Is there a glitch with the Yoplait internet printable, or just my computer? Thanks!

  25. Alissa says:

Lisa–it’s not just you, I’m having issues too.

  26. Crystal says:

FYI, the Folger’s coffee coupon from the Red Plum insert says Do Not Double.

  27. Beth says:

When I try to print the Yopait coupon I get an “invalid or missing parameter message. Is this the same problem as others have had?

  28. Erica says:

Last time I had a few “do not double” q’s and I pointed it out to the manager who was ringing me up and she said “well, if they are automatically doubling, I can’t really stop it”. NICE! (PS. This was at the WOodbury Rainbow)

  29. Anita says:

Looks like I’ll be sitting this one out. I get the PP and didn’t get some of the crucial coupons. I will still shop on weds and bring my coupons just in case I see a deal that I’m not seeing in the ad.

  30. karmen says:

Just ran up to rainbow to use a yoplait coupon that expired today, so I scoped things out for tomorrow. Looks like the GM deal only includes Wheaties, Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Kix, Cinnimon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms for cereals. I also asked at the customer service desk about the coupon book and at first she had no idea but when she went and asked her boss he gave me one, said they don’t have the display out yet (CR rainbow)

  31. Karen says:

Kellogg’s Cereal: The in-store ad says buy 3 Kellogg’s cereal at regular price, select varieties 17-25.5 oz, and get $4 off your order instantly. There are some $1/1 Qs out there so could be free or better than free cereal when Qs are doubled.

  32. karmen says:

    Karen-
what store was that at? I didn’t see that one.

  33. Karen says:

Hi, Karmen. This was at Maple Grove. It is on the front page, top left, right next to the huge turkey LOL.

  34. karmen says:

LOL Thanks Karen. Not sure how I missed that one! :)

  35. Jenn says:

    Carrie (or anyone),
Just wondering what rock bottom prices for batteries are!! I see in the Rainbow Ad this week the 16 packs of AA and AAA and the 8 packs of C and D are 7.99. I have a 1.00 off coupon so it would make it 5.99 if it doubled. Is this a good price or will we see lower?? (Thinking, okay, freaking out, because of all of the battery powered toys my kids will probably be getting for Christmas :))
    Thanks!!

I am also thinking about doing the Dial Foaming Hand Soap Pumps (assuming they are included) which are 1.50 right now but with .35 Q doubled it would make them 80 cents. I have company coming next week and need more soap in the downstairs bathroom :)

For those of you who need shredded cheese, Sargento is 1.66 right now. With .50/2 coupon (not sure which issue it was in but it expires Jan 2010) it would make them 1.16 each which I still think is kinda reasonable. Wishing that 2 lbs of cheese Q was still good! :)

Also, All laundry soap had some 1.00/1 Q’s hanging from the bottles at – I think it was Target – a couple weeks ago – I grabbed one and it is a MQ so I plan to get my All soap for 1.99 tomorrow! Just FYI for any of you who may be doing a Target run to look for those Qs as some still might be on the bottles.

I have a long list and will do 3 if not 4 transactions tomorrow (with a toddler in tow… wish me luck as I have never done more than 2 transactions before)! Need a lot of staples which just happen to be on sale this week!! What is everyone else planning on doing??

  36. Karen says:

So, last week Nate told us about the surprise milk cat that was printing with 3 Kellogg’s Mini Wheats. Anyone know if this promotion is still running?

  37. karmen says:

can anyone tell me if the $5 that comes off your order when you reach $20 of kellogs or yoplait comes off instantly so then I have to factor that into my $25 or at the end? Thanks

  38. Jae says:

Anita-I’m with you. I’ve had to buy the PP for the last 3-4 weeks and I’m just missing out on all the good coupons.

  39. Rachel says:

I would like to let everyone know that RAINBOW is honoring the 37 cent lb turkey till Thanksgiving. And for the butter it is 98 cents but till Saturday. Also most grocery stores will keep the same ad for 2 weeks. Possibly some changes.

  40. Celeste says:

Karmen, when I reached $20 on the Yoplait deal, the $5 came off instantly I think because during that transaction I met and surpassed the $20 threshold. However, with the Kellogg’s deal, the $5 came off of my next transaction and I think that’s because I just met (did not exceed) $20.

  41. Shelly says:

I was also unable to ever print the Yoplait coupon that linked on the list. But, I was delighted to find a $1 off the large (grande) size by simply going to the Yoplait website and selecting the large size. They are on sale at Rainbow for $2 (I think), and I buy those since I just eat the plain, non-fat variety. So it will be free with the doubled coupon. The kids like the little sugary flavored Yoplait, but that coupon just won’t print.

  42. Shelly says:

Well, that was weird! After leaving the previous comment, I went to my printer and found a .55 coupon for the Yoplait. I went back and looked, and it clearly says “click here for a $1 off coupon. Oh well, getting a big thing of yogurt is still a good deal with this coupon.

  43. Laura says:

The Peter Pan coupon in the All You December issue is for $1 off WYB Peter Pan + the January All You…or at least mine is. Bummer!

  44. Katy says:

    Jenn-
In my experience that is a good price for batteries.

When I was doing my price comparisons CVS was 8.49-8.99, Walgreens 8.99, Target 6.50ish I think, and Cub 6.99 and those prices were for the 8 packs of batteries.

If you have Target price match Rainbow there was a 1.50 off Target Q for Duracell batteries and stack that with your maufacturer coupon and you would get them for about 5.50

  45. Nicki says:

Has anyone found out if the price of the pop is included in the $25 needed to get it for $2.22 a 12 pack?

  46. Jessica says:

    Laura,
Look on pages 84 and 85 of your All You. Mine also had the $1 off when you buy the PB and the mag later on in the issue, but there was also a $1 off when you buy one PB on either page 84 or 85. Hope you find it!

  47. Kirsten says:

FYI — When I was at my Rainbow early this morning, the signage was wrong on some of the Sun-Wednesday sale items. The Ragu and Butter quarters were marked at the price the main ad had them at, but they rang up at the lower price from the 4 day sale ad.

My store also had some Kellogg’s Strawberry Oat bits on price reduction 50% off — there is a 75 cent printable on the Kellogg’s website, so I got them for 50 cents. Not as good as free, but that’s one of my favorite cereals and I haven’t gotten a really good price on it for a long time!

  48. Kathy says:

Will Rainbow take coupons that are printed out from Walgreens but do say Manufacturer Coupon on them?

  49. Stephanie Chaple says:

I am very disappointed to report that I couldn’t get the yoplait coupon to print either. I t’s good to see that I’m not the only one because I thought my machine was starting to have old computer syndrome.

  50. Alison says:

Buying a turkey is a great way to meet the $25 threshold for your coupons to double since the “shelf price” is at 88 cents. I bought a 9ish lb turkey for $8.09 shelf price, but used the 37 cents coupon from the Star Tribune Sunday paper, and $4.69 came off.

I reached the Yoplait threshold in my first transaction today so I got the $5 off instantly. Total OOP for my first transaction was $3.48 + $1 back for the ConAgra Deal. So fun!
