I don’t live in the Mpls area but I used to deliver our newspaper for extra money. On Sundays, there would be three separate parts of the paper for me to put together.

So….I would think it is either:
1. Human Error (although a LOT of error from the sounds of it!)
2. Someone(s) are deciding to give themselves less work to do
3. Someone(s) decide they want the coupons instead of giving them to their rightful owners

As far as the Star Tribune’s customer service – don’t get me started! I subscribed for home delivery of the Sunday Tribune (I live in Fargo, ND) and it didn’t have coupons or any ads in it. I waited for the next week in case there was some kind of a mixup. Same deal. I canceled my subscription and let them know it was because of the lack of coupons. They CONTINUED to send me the paper for WEEKS and then turned me over to a collection agency when I wouldn’t pay the extra charge! I just FINALLY got that straightened out .

But when I go to my local convenience store, I have always received the coupons but no sale papers. This is not a big deal to me since I also buy the local paper (although it has less coupons). But if I don’t get there early enough, the Star Tribune sells out quickly.

I’m hoping someone could answer this question for me as it would save me some time. I bought the Sunday PP last week and the Sunday PP again this week. I’m really frustrated with the Strib at the moment.

Anyways…I normally go through the paper page by page just in case there’s a coupon hidden in one of the sectiongs. I’m in the middle of writing a headache inducing clinical research paper and haven’t had the time, chance, energy, motivation, etc to go through the papers yet. Besides the coupon inserts, are there any coupons in any hidden anywhere in last Sunday and this Sundays’ paper? If not, off to the recycle bin they go.

I have an ongoing battle with the StarTribune about coupons. If the paper reads on the front page that there will be $209 in coupons enclosed, then they had best be in there or it is false advertising.

NEVER email them, they will ignore you. Call. If (or perhaps I should say when ) they tell you coupons are not guaranteed, ask them why they advertise that they will be included. Tell them you will contact the state attorney general’s office, and if they still won’t budge, then do contact the AG’s office.

Annette I have had that same problem at the Coborns in Albertville.
Has everyone been receiving CVS ads? I haven’t received one in the last month…but I have received at least 2-3 Walgreens ads in the paper I have delivered to my home.

ANN – I have tried Holiday. MANY holidays stores actually both last Saturday and this past Saturday. From the sound of it on ‘A Full Cup’ it really is just hit or miss. Consider yourself lucky if you got a Saturday paper for .50 WITH coupon inserts. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Star Trib is having major problems with this. Please make the manager at the store(s) you go to to get the paper aware of this so they can let the star trib know. (I also call star trib as well but it doesn’t hurt for it to come from someone “more important”)

The last two Sat.’s I’ve gotten the paper at Coborns in Albertville and i check to make sure the coupons are there first. The only thing I’ve found as far as the ads go is the Target one hasn’t been in any of the papers I buy on Sat. Anyone else finding this to be true of the early edition?

I live by Mora, so out of metro area, I have had great luck with getting the coupons in Saturday’s paper.

Try Holiday ladies! I buy it there every Saturday or Sunday and always get the coupons, Target ad, etc.

We’ve had great luck with the early Sunday edition. Last week, we got it from the gas station near our Mpls home and this week we got it at Cub. Both times we picked them up before 10 am, so maybe it helps to get them early?

Under “Everyday, Regular Priced Items” it is mentioned that if you buy one Smart Balance buttery spread you can get sour cream for free. Is this in the Sunday paper? I went to the Red Plum website and found nothing. I’m still new to this site.

I checked a convenience store in Waseca, MN and no coupon inserts at all in the Star and Trib, despite the advertising on the front of “Save $209.” Last week I didn’t even get a response from Star and Trib customer service when I made them aware of the situation via email. So I bought 2 Pioneer Press papers today. Complete with coupons and sales ads.

i purchased 3 early editions last saturday at rainbow, plymouth>>>got nothing from all 3 papers> thought i would be smarter this time and purchased 3 of same at newspaper box, again with the same results,absolutely nothing. no ads, no coupons, nothing. beginning to see why its only .50

i wanted to the get the 50 cent star trib yesterday. i always make sure there are coupon inserts but there were before i buy but no coupons in the ones at the gas station. how lucky mara.

I was able to get the early Sunday paper on Saturday afternoon. I got them at Caribou and they also had them at Coborn’s. I was pretty excited to find that they are only $.50 and had all the coupons and ads that the Sunday paper has.

I had my coupon inserts in my delivered paper, but no Walgreens ad. Seems like it’s very hit and miss what you get in the paper lately. I suppose it is human error with the people who put the paper together at the warehouse, perhaps?
