If you are up and moving early on Friday morning, consider stopping into a Caribou for a buy one mocha or hot chocolate, get one free. The special applies only to chocolate drinks, as Caribou is kicking off a new partnership with Guittard chocolate. No coupon required.
Their press release says there will be free chocolate samples too. Free chocolate? That alone might get me in the store.
Your turn: Do the mochas and hot chocolates taste any differently now that they are using this new chocolate?

The hot chocolates do taste different…if you choose the white chocolate or dark chocolate. They are pretty “strong” and get overwhelming if you drink more than just a small. You definitely need to LOVE white or dark chocolate to like these in my opinion.
Do we need a coupon for them? I do love the new milk Choc. Yum!
No coupon required
The white chocolate does taste different. I almost like the old stuff better.
Is this all day or just a specific time frame? I didn’t see anything?
Anita – The lack of a specific timeframe makes me assume it is all day. Maybe print the press release and bring it along.
I thought that the White hot chocolate tasted different. I like the old stuff.
I used to work for Caribou and can assure you this is the same chocolate they have always used, it is just now being advertised to show it is real chocolate that is known for being a better brand.
I had a small sample of the dark chocolate the last time I went in…they were handing them out for samples. Too strong for me.
Maybe I would have liked the milk chocolate better.
I like half milk chocolate, half dark chocolate.
Sarah O – I work for Caribou now and can assure you the Guittard chocolates are WAY different than the chocolates we were using before. The chocolate is different and the process for making the chocolate drinks is different.
Also, the BOGO deal is good all day, no coupon required.
I agree that the white chocolate tastes different. I don’t mind it in a white mocha, but in the cold press it was not as good as the previous white chocolate.
Happy Caribouing and shopping :)
FYI- Not as good as the Black Friday deal, but EVERY normal Monday regular sz Mochas are $2.
The Caribou in Woodbury was telling us there was a coupon somewhere and were not going to give us the deal, but did after more than one of us said there was no coupon.
Karla – Someone at Caribou actually emailed me the info on this deal and I’ll be sure they know that their stores were not well informed that no coupon was necessary.
The new chocolate makes me want to be a Caribou drinker for life! YUM!
No one at either Caribou I went to today knew anything about it. No freebies for me.
I visited the Caribou on Grand Ave near Snelling and they said that I needed a coupon or email to receive the BOGO deal. I told them that I didn’t have it and was even told by the Caribou in Roseville (over the phone) that I didn’t need one. They gave me the deal anyway, but not without some frowning and frustration on their part. It’s too bad, all the stores can’t be on the same page.
