I think you should join Borders Reward Club. It’s free and super simple to join. Just go into the store, ask to register at the cashier’s desk and then you’ll be given a coupon for $5 off a future purchase. The coupon expires one week from the date you register, so don’t take a chance on forgetting to come back. Go into the store right then, peruse the clearance section and pick up something priced $4.99 or less to make it totally free.
I just did this yesterday and noticed a ton of clearance books for $4.99 including journals, cookbooks, children’s books, novels, and a variety of non-fiction books. I picked up a children’s book as a Christmas present for my toddler.
Your turn: What did you get with your $5 off coupon?

I also love the mega-coupons they send out periodically – have gotten a lot of free/cheap items! If you like surveys, join e-rewards.com, take surveys and earn borders rewards bucks.
Thanks for the info! I will have to do this.
I second the e-rewards idea. I joined and had $20 in Borders Rewards this month that I was able to put towards the $35 Entertainment book (plus Borders gives you a $5 gift card when you buy one, which made it an even better deal.)

Is this the same as the borders card that I already have? I get e-mail coupons they are great.
I went to Border’s yesterday and used the $5 coupon in the bargain section of the store. The bargain section has a buy 2 books and get a 3rd for free. What a great deal! I purchased 3 books for the price of 1. What a great deal! I’m looking forward to the the monthly bonus rewards.
