Aldi has some great prices on produce this week, based on the Minneapolis/St. Paul sales flyer. Aldi’s prices are very regionalized, so prices at your store may vary. I left off most of the boxed and canned items because you can pick up similar name brand items with a coupon for the same price or less at the grocery store this week.
If you’ve never shopped at Aldi bring a quarter (not 25 cents, but a quarter) for the refundable deposit on your cart and your own bags. They take cash or debit card, but not credit card. Find an Aldi near you. Remember that their produce is ripe for eating when you buy it, so be prepared to eat it, freeze, can it or otherwise use it up right away.
Your turn: What else are you getting for your Thanksgiving meal at Aldi?
Produce
Sweet Potatoes. $0.33 per pound (must buy 3 pound bag). I have never seen them priced less than this anywhere ever. I suspect they’ll go back up to $0.50 per pound next week and then back to this rock bottom price right before Christmas.
Celery. $0.69 each.
Pineapple. $1.49 each. I picked one up yesterday and it smells delicious! I plan to make pineapple chicken with it.
Cranberries. $1.32 per pound. These are sold in a 12 ounce bag for $0.99 each. I listed the per pound price so you can easily compare it to other stores.
Meat
Ground Turkey. $2.04 per pound (sold in 19.5-ounce container for $2.49). I am sad to report that ground turkey has gone up in price lately so this $2.04 is a really good everyday price. Sam’s Club sells the same quality for $1.96 per pound. Occassionally Cub has put it on sale for $1.78 per pound, but that isn’t very often.

Wal-Mart had the sweet potatoes for .25 cents per pound on Thursday the 19th. May still be available. Not sure though.
